Does anyone know the 3rd verse? I have sung this mélodie many times, but have never found a version of the sheet music with the third verse in it... ;'(
@ChristineMarie1992 There is definitely sheet music out there with the third verse. And I have it. AND there's a version of it on imslp.org So you should be set to go.
I sung this for auditions in autumn... that damn accompaniment was stuck in my head for 2 months straight! Otherwise it's a lovely little piece.. just too catchy for me :s
Me donnez seulment des billets cat. 3, merci)
Thank you! I love Dessay's version of this. Even though I like Netrebko and Damrau's versions too, I think that a lighter voice suits this piece more.

Another excellent version. Remember this is a studio recording and they can do takes and perform adjustments. The voice sounds somewhat with an echo and not close to the mike. Netrebko did not butcher that song, her performance was LIVE, no re-takes. Classical music is not to be mechanically performed the exact same way by each musician, note for note. Netrebko has the superior breathing technique and sustained notes at the end of her cresendo. Dessay is using a shout rather that singing.
I love both! I don't know why people negatived your comment, because I thought Anna gave this song a sassy flavor where Dessay is more lyrical both were perfect! :)
you can clearly hear, the song sounds lower for her, than for other sopranos who sang it. My teacher told me, she has a higher passagio (a5) than other "normal" Coloraturas (fis5), that´s why it sounds all like middleregister from her voice.
So many versions....so little time. This is excellent !!!!
It is a privilege for us to be able to listen to this masterpiece interpreted by such a pure and perfect soprano voice. It does not get any better than this !!!
this is nice to hear another piece by leo delibes beacause except the bell song or the flower duet I didnt heard anything eles so thank you and her high note in the end is amizing!!!
Amazing. Perfect.

To me, it's the best version, a perfect exemple of Dessay's characteristic subtlety. The ending is fabulous ^^

her interpretation is almost excellent! :D
but netrebko....uff disgusting

I agree with you...just saw it on youtube. It´s a shame. Netrebko butchered that song.
operachic74 3 years ago 26
Well I guess its because Anna's timber was to dark because I see Anna doing dramatic soprano arias.
classicalgal14 2 years ago
@EkaterinaTheWise almost? it IS lol
and yea, netrebko's got nothing on her.
LeCoconut 1 year ago
This is so beautiful...and her diction and everything is great because she's French.
Netrebko had issues with this song in my humble un-musically-talented opinion. xD

FINALLY!!! A version without such exaggerated tempos and ornamentation...this is how it's supposed to be performed. Like a dance. I love this.
