At Everton he might not stand out as much because you have 10 other players on the field all of a similar standard to him... I know this because I was coached by him for 3 days at Sydney Olympic Park in a football clinic. Raising the hands before the kick is something some players do. Doesn't really mean anything other than "I'm gonna kick it now, get ready!".

And usually Cahill is the target. There aren't many players in the world as deadly as he within a couple of metres in front of the goal.
