  • i just got a meinl headliner as a gift and im disapointed cuz it keeps buzzing and rattling no matter how i tune it! sometimes it sounds like im hitting a guitar instead of a cajon. and how are the strings supposed to sound like when they're plucked? cuz my right side sounds muffled and my left side sounds loud like guitar strings. help me out, thanks:)

  • Hey Jimmy thanks for the Video, i just got a meinl headliner. My question is...on the left side for the slap i noticed it is very tight even when i loosen the screws whereas the right side curves out alot more, is there a way i can fix that? The slap on that side is no where as nice as the other. Thanks for any help.

  • Hey man, thanks for posting this. One question: is it possible to separate the strings from the front of the plate to eliminate the snare effect (as you would on a normal snare drum)? Thanks!

  • what is the modle of the one on this video. i know its from the headliner series but what kind of wood is on the front plate?

  • @jedimasterrylan i think not wood.. it i think it's cement..

  • I have a Meinld cajon... and Im also building me on.... litlebitt diffrent... but these information. helps... I didnt know about the tuning... thanx

  • how would i get a deeper bass sound out of it?

  • You can't really get more bass out of it per say, but you can make the bass sound more prominent by tightening the strings on the inside by using your allan wrench on the bottom of the cajon. This will make the sizzle effect sound tighter so when you go for a bass stroke you hear more bass and less sizzle. Hope this helped.
