  • thnx for your offer, but i know how the firing sounds in L4D are working. look at my soundpack (preview in my other video), it works perfectly, including near and distance sounds, bullet snaps, etc.. :)

all i want to demonstrate with this video is the bug in L4D when short parts from the near miss sounds are played when firing and walking the same time in certain directions.

  • Ahhh, ...Gothca. Sorry about that. Great work on your soundpacks BTW. ;)

  • :)

thnx, nice to hear that from a pro sound designer! :D

  • I'm a professional sound-designer, so let me know what you really want to hear and I can try to help you out. Send me a PM with any further concerns.

  • L4D's sounds are encoded to only work with the existing sounds. The pistol-fire for instance is a default stereo-waveform that uses the Left-Channel in-game for the player to hear and other players mainly hear the right-channel when you fire, however - the game-engine also uses a certain percentage of the left-channel (louder-fire) depending on your distance to them. The further away you are - the more you will only hear the right-channel audio which is for distance (mainly bass-reflections).
