  • so much about the beginning of this is ironic. haha.

  • hahahaha this video is fucking amazing

  • Great song, great band, but ever so slightly homo-erotic video.

  • True.

  • "Homoerotic"? Meh...not really. I mean, do rainbows and dancing really have to be homoerotic? It's kind of a weird straight male depression that you guys need to get OVER! Really!

    But...bizarre? HELL YES.

  • CLAP...CLA-CLAP!

  • one of the best bands around. their appearance on jools holland was classic

  • This is very Boosh, if you know what I mean you cockney bitch ;)

  • radio ga ga episode. but i still love the all seeing eye of tvontr. F L & T BROTHERS AND SISTERS..........dear science... lol

  • care bears of the apocalypse

  • hahahahaha this song and vdeo makes me high hehehe

  • you should also watch the making of this video featured on the right...it's interesting how most of us in the US see that and immediately, cynically think it's gay. What's happening is that they are taking traditional macho, violent figures and saturating them with the opposite. Cops are always beating ppl up in videos, here they're dancing and rainbows are shooting out of them. Also, instead of putting these figures in their place, they're empowering them in a way, which is a cool twist.

  • Why do people come to watch videos if they're just going to diss it anyway. Some people, I swear. I hate Country, so I am not gonna go to a Country vid and trash Garth Brooks. That's lame and most of you are lame for doing it here.

  • Well the internet is the perfect place to complain.

  • no.. the internet is just the perfect place to find retards.. 2 total different things

  • dont be so critical. this is just good music with a postive message and feel. accept and appreciate the quality, and the sarcasm of the video if your sense of humor is rounded enough!!!!!!!!

  • yeah, let's only just listen to wolf like me . I love buying albums to listen to just one song on it :-P ... (even know this is off the album after i think)

  • this video disturbs me

  • hahaha i love the police men in this vid.

  • check out wolf like me trust me

  • wolf like me is WAY better this sux

  • the only buoy MJ was clinging to was seven years old. Good one powertrust!

  • q.when micheal jackson went missing at sea where did they find him

  • in the ocean

  • no clinging to a buoy

  • You gotta be kidding

The video is the most awesome video I've ever seen

I mean they coulda had a totem giant fight with another totem giant.

BUT dammit, give them an A for Effort

I like to think they simply didnt have the budget for two.

    Next time boys, next time.

  • haaa

  • great song but the video is really weird lol!!!

  • i saw them at oxegen they were amazing :D i love them

  • not gonna lie. i like the song, but the video made no sense whatsoever! weird singing monks? dancing cops? rainbows and mountains? animal masks?

  • This album is amazing, it feels like a single instrument is playing

If that makes any sense at all

  • its so well put together that i sounds like one person ... right?

  • i love this song

  • bellissimo il video lo adoro!!!

  • this vid is epic

  • kyp pwns!

  • This clearly means.... the animal heads represent.... the cops..... golden..... dancing....

    ..... wha?

  • yup, thats what i said. good song. wierd vid.

  • Were those cops Carebears?

  • ehhh

  • I love this song.

  • These guys are pretty much the new Radiohead as far as I'm concerned. That might not mean too much to everyone, but they really are amazing to me. Typically hilarious video.

  • HEy Hey hey Radiohead is a big name to use :D

  • What's wrong with the current Radiohead?....but yeah, they do remind me a little bit of a funkier Radiohead....what Radiohead would be like if they had gotten more sweets when they were kids

  • Oh nothing, nothing at all. I love me some Radiohead. I just think these guys are for the music industry what Radiohead were when The Bends came out. Dear Science is a fantastic album. The title almost seems like a nod to OK Computer, as does their first "album", OK Calculator.

  • Whatever,... their great ,... pretty fresh,... as in different,... I love these guys! You can hear a few different influences if you listen close enough,... but they managed to make something pretty amazing, let it be their own or whatever you want it to be,... but it doesn't have to be anything but their own,... whatever that is,... all I know is, it's great! Peace!

  • With all due respect, there was inovated music before Radiohead, the sound of this TVOTR album was taken from the first spiritual phase of Prince (88-90), even the video looks like his Lovesexy era.

I know some of Radiohead fans don't listen to black music, but there is some weird experimental stuff from George Clinton, Outkast, Dangelo etc. I remember the first time I listen to Radiohead Okcomputer I tough "this is the white Prince" and a few years later we got TVONTR and the new Wolfmother

  • This got nothing to do with Radiohead, got everything to do with Prince, listen to his late 80s albums.

  • lol this is the weirdist fucking thing ive ever seen

  • the video itself is very rad...music is mild at best. wolf like me is a great song though.

  • dont worry about it, different people have different tastes.....

  • i like the dancing police people. you don't see that too often...

  • This is so messed up. I love it.

  • Watch out they are using their care bear powers

  • THE DOPE'ST THING ON YOUTUBE !!

  • ppl relly underestimate this vid

there is a lot of symbolism in it, i can feel it, i just dont know where......

  • its in your pants

  • exactly...no wait

  • i loled at this video

  • Looks like Donnie Darko & Prince were tripping on acid & fell asleep to the Labryinth. If that makes any sense.

  • LOL! I agree.

So refreshing to let the 90's depressing indie scene back, it's time to smile and have fun, love this!

  • I believe I agree. I do not have any sound because my sound card is busted, but it does seem that way.

  • Don't forget to add Samwell in there as well.

  • hahaha that is fucking hilarious!!i couldnt agree more!

  • Alright, Ummm... I'm a fan since "wolf like me", but I think this was very bizare. The cops really steered me away after their horrific dance moves. Yeah, uhh... I'm going to check out "roughhands" by alexisonfire.

  • WTF just happened?

  • Love the band since "Wolf Like Me", but, what the hell is THAT supposed to be? It reminds me of the whole PM Dawn thing, which makes me cringe. The Care Bear cop- dancing, shapeshifting & unintelligible lyrics have me rethinking my affinity for this band.

I KNOW- ..the Golden Age is coming, but did ya' have to get all freakified? Totems? Chakras? What WAS that, guys? I HOPE they aren't a "New Age" band... Remember that crap, a cpl o yrs back wit the hippie robes & tamborines? Lord forbid!

  • well i think this video is great.

    i like c are bears

  • the song is pretty good.. but, honestly the video leaves me thinking... is this the village people ?

  • it's alright, but it's super gay.

    O_O

  • Peace and love has nothing to do with homosexuality.

  • no, peace and love have everything to do with homosexuality. Hate and intolerance have nothing to do with homosexuality--are we straight on that?

  • What are you saying KGL? Your post is baffling

  • great song, great video!

  • There is a penis age coming around.

  • i see what you did there

  • so this is what a blow job feels like... AMAZING!!

  • his voice reminds me of bowie

  • This is so Prince 88!

  • Great song and video.

  • aha! so the cops were care bears. now it all makes sense

  • LOLZ!( i put this for the wrong one right under :P)

  • Put gay cop dancing in a video and I'll watch it. that's all i'm saying

  • LOLZ

  • good song

  • Where can i find ''lover's day'' performed live??????? My fav song of Dear...

    Please TVotR come to MEXICOOOO!!

  • Best band ever! Why do all their music videos look like acid trips?

  • Can I stroke your beard?

  • TV on the Radio is the most comprehensive contemporary band I've had the pleasure of listening to. They have exellent vocals coupled with an intrinsic instrumental core that corresponds well with the lead singers voice. I expect to hear great things from them in the future.

  • probably the best music video I've ever seen

  • race doesn't matter

    its just great fucking music

  • go ahead buddy, play this song to 20 of your closest black friends and 20 of your closest white friends and tell me what you've found.

I'm not saying white people have some sort rights to this music, but c'mon, this is music that white people listen to! Look at one of their live videos and see if you can find one black person that isn't on stage

  • these groups make bank off of pretentious, self-involved college students trying to be hip. plus there's the whole "i listen to black people play white-people music, i'm so open-minded" thing goin on

  • what makes this "white-people music" you fucking moron?

  • this is totally white-people music, i agree

  • This reminds me of the argument that broke out in the 6th grade when Pam said to Mark that RocknRoll was from Africa. As Elvis, The BeeGees and sadly Vanilla Ice have all proven is that music has no color, but music listeners have cultures that make them choose the familiar. Blacks probably mostly don't know this band, but that doesn't negate that much of the band is black. Plus, its a silly argument that almost never converts people's hearts.

I am part of the Colbert Bump.

  • Ironic that they draw criticism for pretentious, "well-informed" stereotypes who like to segregate cultures into their own separate pockets and tell the world exactly how it works.

Why are Americans so obsessed with race? No one gives a fuck anymore, christ

  • Why are non-Americans so obsessed with classifying all Americans as one?

  • The irony in your post is obviously blinding to you.

  • Comment removed

  • Without trying to be rude, everyone has their own opinions, but this isn't much. I have heard the rave about them for two years and have tried giving them a chance, but I just don't get it. I listen to every genre of music and really don't ever want to listen to this again.

  • too bad. to each his own. id recommend seeing them live, but if you have been trying for 2 years and didnt like cookie mountain, than i imagine your not going to ever like them. my friend is the same way. personally i think your both nuts :-D

  • Gah, I really can neverr get enough of these guys

  • LOL ! You're a funny man.

  • that shits already old news maine. i was slitting baby throats in the name of satan during the renaissance.

  • prejudice much?

  • .....too much? yeah. too much.

  • omg hahahahahahahahahahahah. this made my day.

  • mushrooms!!!!!! i want wut u guys got times 5....

  • acid trip much

  • yea man

  • sexy bassline at the end xxx

  • Am I the only person who prefers their older material over their new material???

  • You must be on the evidence of this track... It's top class stuff!

  • fucking good shit :)

I need to buy a CD of these guys.

  • refreshing,funny, and homoerotic...this video rules!!

  • hot cops, rainbow heartbeam, and third eye! ahhhhhhhh, I love it!

  • Great song. The video is actually pretty dense with mythic and new age symbolism. First time I watched it, it seemed pretty silly and funny but after a couple of viewings it's clear there a spiritual universalist message.

  • CAREBEAR STARE.

  • sweet tunes Mr. Zadir

  • ROFL, shit this is FUNNY I CANT STOP LAUGHING AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

  • omfgggg this is soo damn funny holy shiit im cryin with laughter ommmg!!

  • This is a great video. It's dense, playful, purposefully difficult. The key, I think, is in the lyrics: the Golden Age is the mythic age of the Ancient Greeks, the Age of Miracles is the mythic age of the Old Testament. Both are fictional periods of surreality: Zeus disguising himself as a white ox to have sex with nymphs; God appearing to Moses on the top of a mountain.

If you start piecing together the symbols, the song and video start making sense.

  • is this a joke?

  • Wow, there's a lot of layering going on here. This song seems simple at the beginning and then it blossoms into something that is very much larger. The video isn't half-bad, either. There's nothing dark about this song, as one poster thought (although I do respect other's opinions). This is such a perfect find. Then again, it's Christmas, for me. Another present (I like simple things).

  • i absolutly love them .. i only wish they wernt as popular as they are cause i loved there underground vibe. i met them a couple months ago and they are pretty chill

  • ---and heard

  • This is the most retarded thing ive seen in my life, not kidding.

  • Never seen Twilight, eh?

  • i tried giving them a listen bought their cd and everything...i still ain't feeling it and can i just add - i'm confused with this video? did i just waste 3 minutes and 50 seconds....why?

  • those cops seem like care bears.

  • I am a hard headed bastard this is true. However, I still think the video is god awful. I wasn't expecting disco dance cliche either; perhaps a smokey bar, sophisticated people drinking sophisticated drinks, (a bit uptight) and then tv on the radio get on stage and really get the whole audience into a groove you know. Like, they really forget about how sophisticated they are for a minute and really dance. I had a vision. They should have let me make the video. Lots of shadow.

  • that sounds like a fucking matchbox 20 video or something. fuckouttahere

  • I like the video, its good, fuck you all who expect some conventional disco dance cliche video, grow up and be more conceptional you hard headed bastards.

  • Not a bad song but the video is a bit moronic. One humble little man's opinion.

  • lol

  • They made it seem that way on purpose. Its actually riddled with symbolism and in the making of video they say the police are dancing so people will think they are silly instead of being afraid of them.

  • I would have liked to have been in the room when the idea for this video was pitched. Must've been great.

  • sounds like U2 a bit, love it, its awesome!!

  • Some one was definatly on a substance when they made this *nods*

    Certainly very catchy though!

  • I'm slightly confused. Was I supposed to...what was I supposed to do? I didn't.

  • Move your body; you've got all you need!

  • Sounds like Prince, looks like an 80's video; whats not to like?

Nice song, but it sounds like the first track to the album, a warm up song if you will.

  • idk the first track reminds me more of ramones, then goes into radiohead hotness

i love it. just the first half of 'dear science' sounds better to me than pretty much everything else this year

  • wtf!! ok what? ...huh... wtf what kind of person came up with a video like that???

  • innovative, yes. but good music?

  • I'm not exactly sure what I just watched. Haha!

  • wtf this is stupid

  • In a musical age where everything that could be done has been done already it's difficult to sound different and innovative. But, there will be innovators in sound and style ready to break out of the mould ... and it's here we find TV On The Radio. I'm hooked.

  • The last part of it was pretty f*ked up X 10 Anyone else agree?

  • have no idea what it means but i really like TOTR, and it's not a bad song (divorced from the video)

  • fine.but check out 'gypwin' or 'gentleman john' on you tube

  • Now this is a funky tune. Await eagerly their new record.

  • It came out in September =\

  • The cops represent control, authority and loss of individuality. They appear menacing, but they're actually just dancing to the music played by the band. They reveal themselves to be secret superheroes (they rip open their shirts like Superman) and everyone is really on the same side. So, the message is- Not Self is Self.

  • I really like TVOTR but man... what the hell is this video? I remember watching it for the first time and apparently my facial expression was priceless. I guess that's a good thing...?

  • every great music video has cops looking at suspicious men in white clothing in the middle of the desert that then have magical instruments and then the cops think everything is ok and they then start dancing and they have a dance off with the weird guys in white which turned into animal heads......

  • I know, I know. It's getting a bit tiresome isn't it?

  • mhm very

  • if thats not the Weirdest video ever i don't know what is. On a side note, how the hell is this song topping the charts? It was actually my least favorite from the album.

  • wtf

  • the rainbow god is upon us,. . she climbs from the chakras,. .

  • sickest video ever!?

  • AWESOME. That shit is so cool!!! Watch this on Acid!

  • Im sorry but... what is this?

  • this is possibly the weirdest crap ever.

  • anybody care to try and explain this to me? it has alot of symbolism but for what? no clue. I think this album is a great example lyrically of what they're capable of but not as musically interesting to me as the young liars ep.

  • YEESSSSSSSS

  • they ROCK live!!!!=)

  • the singer reminds me of a teddy bear.
