The CSM helped CCP understand the emotional connection players had with „ship spinning". They vehemently demanded the return of the feature, which CCP committed to introduce in some form at a future date. Until that functionality is added back in, the option to load station environments will remain in the Settings menu.

@smeddog2 its incarna 1.0 smartass. Notice the little button into the station that wont let you in? yeah they are working on that. they wouldve been still working on the CQ too but people wanted that and the turret modules released earlier so CCP did.

this is great. because the only thing I didnt like about eve online was I couldnt actually play as my character in the game. I was stuck in a ship the entire time. I wanted to be able to dock at a space station and get out of my ship and walk around. visit bars, and interact with the community, and it looks like I will be able too in Eve Online. This is great!

"just to be clear, Incarna, the expansion where you can walk around as an avatar is not coming out this winter, but the first release of it is planned to come out next summer, in 2011. However, in the same way we introduced new planet graphics in Dominion and then Planetary Interaction one expansion later, we are introducing updated avatar graphics now in Incursion."

@smirnov711 Just to elaborate, you can see the new character creator now on the test server. We'll all have to "rebuild" our character avatars by the end of January 2011 but you won't actually get to walk around in stations (Incarna) until summer.

@alpha9190 Official release date for Incarna is June 21st, 2011; however at launch it's only going to support the Captain's Cabin stuff; because CCP is smart, and doing it in iterations so as to keep any faulty code from royally screwing the pooch, and expanding it from there.

they need to add all the ports on the body and the socket in the back of the head for sure, and on caldari, since they use so many implants to make themselves better a few models to match the avatars that have implants showing.

@generalagondray ? really? ports? so, they have ftl, but they still plug in stuff like that you reckon? I'd imagine everything relating to getting "implants" would be nanobot driven, with aftermarket tweaks and hacks, military or pirate boosting. falalalalaal, etc.

EVE is such an awesome game--it's kept me playing for 4 years. But, why, oh why, did they have to do a takeoff from such a dreadful movie for the Incarna trailer? Okay so the first Matirx wasn't bad, but I think it brings EVE down that they used such a similar theme. At least when Ironman used the assembly of the suit in the movie based from Starcraft II trailer [yes the trailer was waaay before the movie] one good thing used another good thing. CCP what were you thinking using the Matrix?

Anything familiar about all that in this video or are you not paying attention? I was not implying CCP took the background story from Matrix, just the scenes and footage.
