Australia have been playing great under Pim Verbeek, and this was by far the worst performance under him. However, it is a well known fact, that good teams can still get results on the rare off days, this was one of those.

Come on all you bleeding hearts, if Bahrain were good enough to win they would have scored from numerous chances - none of those attempts were actually on target. And they wouldn't have made a huge defensive blunder which allowed a better finisher to bury the ball in the back of the net. Yes, it is reminiscent of us v Italy - we weren't good enough to score against 10 men: the penalty came about 89m15s. Yes diving sucks but its just an excuse for not being able to score the rest of the match.
To those who are concerned about how Australia played in this match you have to look at the circumstances. Shitty pitch, shitty preperation was always going to get us nowhere. Bahrain are undeserving losers though. They had us beaten, full credit to them missing those players.

Nothing unlucky about it, mate. I admit we probably didn't deserve to win, our defending was woeful. But, my mum could have buried half the chances Jaycee John had. There was no bad ref decisions or dodgy offside calls, you just needed a better quality striker. I do hope you can at least get third spot though, you're a better team than Qatar.

australian team in this match did nothing, and we did not take advantage (our mistake) remind me of their performance against iraq when they were beaten by the iraqiez (asia cup).. i think they have more to give..

Nothing unlucky about it, mate. I admit we probably didn't deserve to win, our defending was woeful. But, my mum could have buried half the chances Jaycee John had. There was no bad ref decisions or dodgy offside calls, you just needed a better quality striker. I do hope you can at least get third spot though, you're a better team than Qatar.

Firstly, thank you JayFCAK47 for this upload of the highlights... secondly... what the fuck Australia? 2 years ago you beat Japan, drew with Croatia and completely outplayed Italy. And now you are being outplayed by Bahrain? You expect to do well in 2010 playing like this? Time to harden up, train up, and start comfortably winning these matches. The only team in our group that should be a challenge for us is Japan. Everyone else should be 0-3 or 0-4 wins.
