@msnikish I think his home life was messed up and music kept him mostly sane, however, he did have some issues with his family wanting to commit him to an institution, that hurt him as I recall. He was at odds with members of his own family. RIP, Pete. And everyone else, Bin Laden is dead and remember, you don't fuck with the EAGLE!

Thank you very much for your kind and supportive interest in my dear departed friend & our old band. FYI: Although Peter often wore an NYC Sanitation Dept. t-shirt, & although Louie's father was a Sanitation Dept. employee, Peter himself never worked for the Sanitation Dept., he worked for the NYC Parks & Recreation Dept., which also collects refuse in NYC public parks.

@bigfuckingdaddy - The reason Pete had shaved his head was twofold: 1) For shock value: At the time Peter shaved his head, we (Carnivore) were scheduled to perform at a CBGB's "Hardcore Matinee" show on the L.E.S. in NYC, & Peter thought it would shock & humor everyone if he appeared at a hardcore show (attended by mostly skinheads & punk rockers - no metalheads) w/o his trademark long hair.; 2) Pete was just getting into Hardcore & immediately embraced its culture: including shaved heads.

This show took place almost an entire year before our (Carnivore's) 2nd record, "Retaliation", was even released. If you listen closely to, "Race War", you'll notice that the lyrics & song arrangement are completely different than the recorded version (on "Retaliation"). Pete was still working on the song but was excited to "test it" before a live audience.

@bigfuckingdaddy - Pete was not, "...ready to... become a nyc police officer...". I have no recollection of Peter ever applying to the NYC Police Academy. Peter worked for the NYC Parks & Recreation Dept. (both during the descent of Carnivore & during the rise of Type O Negative), & was assigned to various duties in Brooklyn & Manhattan public parks, including; Sanitation, driving trucks, caring for grounds & even maintenance at a public pool. He loved nature & animals. He was not destructive.
