not just any karate.. Tiger Schulmann´s Karate!  lol. but seriously the poor perception of the place is probably due to corny TV & radio commercials. its almost like a throw back to the Karate Kid days and makes it hard to take the place seriously. just my opinion. But they definitely have some tough prospects that fight out of there. Lyman Good is no joke either

I attained the level of Brown belt inTSK back in the 90's, what i have seen in the last 10 yrs with TSMMA has motivated me to come back and finish what i started. The figters out here today with TSMMA are NO JOKE! LYMAN, HALL and the others are very good and pretty scary to say the least. These guys are the real deal for sure. I just wish it was like this back in 98'-99' and it was pretty good then, now it's really something else!

@SoundwaveSuperior373 hahaahaa what school is that? I think your friend misunderstood what he or she was saying. What he might of heard was that they guarenteed the skills to succeed as a black belt. I can tell you stories of how much I had to work at it inorder for me to even take the test. The school is not at its prime anymore but the experience you gain from it is worth every dollar.

@trainofaaron well it was a school in nyc they had contracts where every 3 weeks you get promoted a new belt u dun even have to show up they just mail u the belt if u dun even show up to take it

@SoundwaveSuperior373 Belt or no belt to actually become a black belt (sempai) first you need to have the results to take the test then once you "pass" you have to have the certifaction guarenting you an actuall black belt. Thats school he or she is going might be a scam and not the actuall school

that made no sense Shakeyojunk but anyways MMA is a safer sport than boxing so i like it better bring over boxing into mma is great but the only thing you need to learn different is how to hold your hands different in mma because of the glove difference also being a wrestling and brazilian jiu jitsu guy i like to fight boxers because when they throw a big shot i go for the take down so learn the ground game so you dont make an ass out of yourself

I prefer MMA, you may be as good as you can with boxing, but you won't be a complete fighter, if you can't fight in all situations.

MMA so you can fight on the ground. If you fought a wrestler or jiujitsu expert you would probly lose if it went to the ground (not insult) and mma teaches you boxing and what to do if someone takes u to the ground. You would definately benefit more from mma than boxing.

yea true, ive wrestled for about 5 years now and ive boxed for about a short 1 year but when i tried out MMA it was alot more fun and since i know wrestling and bjj it was easier on the ground and that 1 year still helped me, so yea mma all the way lmao

well I always felt tiger shulman wasnt the best place to go. I never trained there but I have my reasons. I dont know this guy but he will bring the school some attention I guess. its cool that they arent just karate anymore and they say mma now. does anyone know the mix they are using? my gym was bjj/muay thai. some in my area are jui jitsu/kick boxing and a few are sambo/taikwondo. so what is tiger shulman doing now, karate I asume but whats the ground work im looking at here?

well im glad you like it. any martial art is better than none. im old and im not going to go back to checking out places. I just wanted to know what they are doing for ground and I now see its bjj and muay thai. thats what my school does and its nice to see tiger has come around. maybee we will start seeing their students at real events now. this may be a sign of them turning to real fighting instead of just making money from moms who send their kids but have no clue what mma really is.

the guy in this vid looks cool. I dont know him but im glad tiger is going this way. my local tiger school students are never seen at naga events or adcc. maybee that will change now. karate is like any standing art, its cool and better than nothing but without ground and standing mixed your not a complete fighter. I learned that 30 years ago the hard way. it has taken me alot longer to get where I am than a kid today needs since mma is here and things are more available. good luck to tiger.
