at 15:50 we see a set up of armies, i see a lot like that and jsut wonder why dont u just make ur fighting line a bit forward towards the enemies armie so ur roaches at the back which r only dicin around coudl also shoot, its like a waste, and yes it was sure u'll win that fight, but there r many fights wich r not so sure, and still, theres a shooting line and wasted units just trying to get in range

Roaches counter banes and lings, banes only counter lings, its like playing "rock paper scissors dynamite" and choosing rock. I would appreciate some clarification if someone understands something i dont.

@anon136 Because some people like to go mass ling so if you get banes you will win before they have time to get roaches sometimes or you can send about 3-4 banes into the mineral line to kill about 70% of opponents drones, but that said if they rush straight to roaches you fucked

Banes counter the shit out of hydralisks, as they are a light unit. And i think he meant early game... you either start with early baneling pressure or roach, since banelings come faster, if they rush to banelings early game, it'll be hard for the opponent to stop with only zerglings/drones (roaches are a bit slower)

@NattenTillImorgon The thing with Mutas is that they are terrible against Roaches as they barely do any damage against the roaches heavy armour and Psy would have just been able to march into his opponnents base and taken him out. On top of that, fungal rapes mutas as you can perma fungal them and since they don't have much health and armour, it only takes 2 or 3 fungals to kill them. In the end, mutas is an insta-death wish unless you get them really early.

Your pretty much right but to have fungal your opponent should have investors and you should know what your opponent has in the first place. Also never go only muta's, making about 15 and keep harrassing your opponent killing of overlords, drones a couple of units out of position is great and keeps his hydra's in his base. Once you get attacked the muta's can fly in seconds back to reinforce. Muta's are absolutely great for map controll. Once opponent has investors drop 'm yes.

Feedback? You early game, you should have gotten the Tunneling Claws upgrade instead of movement speed when you did your early push. You could have crawled your way into his base without him being able to do anything at all. Also, burrow for a longer time, so your roaches actually get some time to heal up for more than 10 hp - if you burrowed twice as long with Tunneling Claws, you'd get healed 4 times as much. That's something that WOULD have an effect. Your speed upgrade doesn't help much yet.

PsY's rational then was that you can get like 6 roaches for each infestor. It's a style thing as well. Infestor play requires pretty good micro and can really take advantage of poor positioning especially on maps with small chokes.  ZvZ on metalopolis for example infestors wont be as effective because the chokes aren't as small.

I play as zerg, and every zvz i play the other xerg always goes for the 8 pool zerg rush. i always see it coming, but it always comes down to micro even if i do the same as them, and sometimes lose. How would you play a safe game like: 13 gas/pool, 16queen/lings and defend against an insanely early ling rush. does it literally come down to spine crawlers? You can only make them once your pool is down, which will be later than theirs if they're rushing. discuss... :P (if this made sense...)

seriously, I think emphasizing the advantage one has when they one base vs 2 base is really important. The advantage you had was tech, and you got ahead because you utilized it. This is something a lot of players have to realize and work on, including myself :O

I will have to say for fairness, I was impressed with NrGvibe even though he lost as I'm sure psy was too. He recovered quickly and made the best of it even with the tech choice difference. Not every zerg has as good or as well practiced infestor micro as psy and maybe in an infestor vs infestor play, if he's watched any of psy's vids, he probably already realized that psy would have the upper hand anyways with that kinda battle.

Every game consisted of the same build, Medivac, mass marauder, some marines, and mass tanks with vikings as support.

That's the build Day9 showcased in daily 235 and 242! Why didn't you place the pool and roach warren at the geysers to make small choke points? You might aswell do it, since you'll be safer against ling harass.

Maybe you could make two overseers and contaminate his hatcheries before you attack with your roaches? It might be worth the cost in gas.

Hydra is only good against MM or gateway units, but hydra tech is late that MM turns into MMM and gateway turns into gateway+colossus w/o thermo lance, which both wipe out hydra easily. The time window is too short, which make hydra quite useless, especially after 4 range roach.
