In the ring of fire + eerie room (one of the three random rooms after the mid point), you should try to jump on the top of the fire platform as it turns the bottom left corner, ride it to the top of the square and just stand on the top left corner. That way you are out of the path of most of the eeries and when the platform moves out from under you, you still just fall a couple feet to the next incoming fire platform.
