@gawtmeelk what ever Macs can run both OS's. Macs can run Windows far better than most PC's and if the PC can run Windows better you end up spending more. Snow leopard is $29. @murfreebear are you fucking serious? A Mac and a "PC" today are virtually identical in architecture!! How can windows run better on a mac than a pc? Even though Macs might look like unique electronic products, the only unique thing about them is the design of the case and the peripherals. The motherboard and cpu etc are EXACTLY the same as what PC's use. Mac's are actually less quick than PC's when compared using FLOPS per dollar. With Apple you pay more for a slower computer!

Oh, and btw., I checked some facts:

You just compared a Display with an S-IPS panel to an TN-Panel.

I'm sure that can be disappointing, but it's like that even with the best TN-panel displays you can get. And the iMac has a real great display.

Just don't get the entry level 20", get the better 24".

If you wanna save money, you won't get the best possible. And the iMac is really a bargain. Easy as that.

The display given is a cheaply made, and is one of many anti media handling changes apple has made. The switching to intel graphics is one (they've fixed it in new macbooks) and the other is the use of cheap TN panels.

Name me an all-in-one computer in the same price class as the 20" iMacs that have a SIPS panel, or something comparable.

The Displays are really good for a computer of it's price class and what you get for the money.

The 20" iMacs are totally fine and a really good deal.

How do you think can Apple support to drop the price for the, btw excellent value for it's price, entry level imac to about a thousand dollars with a 20" display, where it only was 17" in the previous generation.
