  • You can hear in the video why the MM is more expensive than a MB.

The MB is the low-fi version of the MM

and doesn't reflect high frequencies that much.

I'm a fan of that dirty old tape delay sound and I prefer the BOY.

If you are a fan of that chorus/vibrato modulation thing the MAN might be

for you . Nothing in the world touches that sound. Not even a MB

  • Fuck why does the Memory Man have to be $315...jesus

  • buy both. no boss.

  • how effective is the low cut mode? would that help making the dmb sound a bit more similar to the memory man

  • The DMM is a little better, but is he 150€ better than the MM?

  • in my opinion memory boy sounds better !!

  • It sounds like perhaps the blend knob on the memory man was a little higher than the memory boy, but this is a good comparison. Bought the MB today!

  • Perfekt, thanks for the Vs. you help me very well!

  • DMM clearly sounds better, but if you're getting your first delay DMB is the way to go. As far as the cost goes, get a DMM instead of a Carbon Copy and you don't need a chorus pedal. The DMM might cost more but the functionality is like three pedals in one. I just added one to a simple Big Muff/Loop Station set-up and I don't plan to spend any more money on effects

  • This is a first video witch shows normal sound of memory boy not only crazy sounds with modulation all the way up. Great man !

  • I like boy's sound more

  • its close but the memory man is warmer sounding.

  • The "tail" of the effect of the MB is sort of strange and dark (it's the one thing that bothered me most when I demoed it at store). And the MB seems a bit brighter pre-effect (is that because it's not true bypass?--anyone know?). BUT, I love the fact that I can plug in an exp pedal--why can't MM do that? Overall, i'd say the MM is a better quality sound. Thanks for the A/B demo, man. peace

  • @bobdeeguitar The MB IS true bypass.

  • I rather prefer the Memory Boy, it sounded a bit more jangly.

    Please don't shoot me...

  • Less dark=brighter.

  • Dave navarro is one of my favourite guitar players ever. janes addiction are so much better than the Red Hot Chili Peppers its not fair

  • Sounds like the MMD has more 'flesh' and gives more space and clarity ..

i wonder if the new XO version sound as good as that fat beast ..

  • That is a killer board you got there

  • i have the hazarai and simon has the dd20 they both sound pretty cool, you know, whatever you want

  • Thanks for the demo.

I really wanted the Memory Boy to deliver the goods, but as many of the posters have said, the DMM just sounds better to me. Of course, at such a reasonable price, the MB is probably a fine choice for a portable "live" pedal board. I'll probably end up with both units...

Now, if someone would just A/B the DMM with the DMM XO version, we'd know where we stood with all of these "Memory Dudes" :>)

  • Brilliant demo! But it's obvious for me that the sounds coming out of the Memory Man have more "flesh". It sounds better.

you get what you pay for.

  • that modulation sucks, well it's sounds better on the toy. with the trem it's better though.

    I like the toy better.

    great riffs man

  • sounds great!

  • I quite like the Memory Boy, but the Deluxe Memory is still king in my book. Well worth the extra money and pedal board space.

  • tnx!

  • thanks for posting man ! :)

  • i really want a classic memory man but those are going extinct due to the xo series!

  • Memory Man rules! Too bad it cost more than twice what a Memory Boy goes for

  • the memory man sounds fuller and warmer to my ears. probably the higher voltage...

  • Thanks for showing the Memory Boy using sensible settings. I never knew the vibrato could be so useable as well as chorus.

  • Just a Pair of weeks go from getting my Memory Boy. Can´t wait!!!!

  • how about a video showing how to adjust the trim pots, i dont even know wot one is so a vid would be good

  • Cool demo man.... Some of my fave songs in there too.

u2, radiohead, Rhcp, Alice In Chains.....

    Well done mate.....

  • Superb my good friend! Amazing review... Thanks!

  • Some of those people ARE dweebs aren't they? haha. It's cool that you Radiohead by the way.

  • The exact shootout I was looking for! Thanks! (btw, I love the Navarro Peppers)

  • The Boy sounds a little brighter

  • huraah, i got one i got one!!!!!!!!
