As for Anders being alone, there are plenty of templars willing to risk execution to stand up to Meredith, annoyingly the game forces you to kill them all despite what side you're on but the fact remains that given enough time, campaigning and public pressure the Templars could have been forced to change their ways. Dragon Age 2 is a great game, significant improvement since DAO. DA2 is like Baldur's Gate 2 reborn. I enjoyed( ad i still enjoy)DA2. DA2 is superior to degenerate crap like nwn2. DA2 and Mass Effect 2 are the only RPG comparable with BG2.

I like how she sticks to her own beliefs. A lot of people say she should have chosen one of the sides, mage or templar, when she always stood on the third one (the Maker's side). Neutrality was her choice, she was keeping the balance between everyone - because that path was saving more lives, and that what she wanted in the first place. Everyone seems to forget, that there are a lot more normal people in the city than both mages and templars combined.

In origins, when you play the circle mission, at the part where Uldred converts mages into Abominations, it's a long process where Uldred torchers them badly until they surrender, in Kirkwall, a mage get's a little bit cornered.... During the explosion one can see clearly, that there were about five templars and one priest at the chantry. All templars were armed, it wasn't murder or terrorism. All templars are merciless Nazis, complete monsters. Making anyone Tranquil is horrible, and the person who did it would be a monster who would deserve death. Basically you either convert to the chantry or die (which prettymuch sucks) but generally what you do in your spare time realy doesnt concern the Chantry (you could have sex with 20 women and the chantry wouldnt care)

Obviously it's not real and all but, as someone with characters I seriously love to bits both belonging to me and others, imma talk like this 'is real'. Basically what Anders did, it's awful. But then look what's happened to the Mages. Blood for blood is not right. But sometimes the only way to force an ear is to pull it, don't you think? Anders did wrong - Anders was punished. You look at the dialogue options he went into that knowing he was doing the necessary, and that he deserved punishment.
