@IMFDB google "hk because we hate you" there marketing team is great, put it all over every tacticool movie, videogame, book then not offer it to the public = a legion of inexperienced Fanboys touting off how wonderful the gun is and others suck without handling any of them.(minus the lucky guy in the vid) not comparable to the m4 the g36c has a 9" barrel taking all effective range out of the 5.56 it fires/cqb only (2 different purposes for the gun)with that and even then the sight is really hi
It's funny how people look at this gun like a icon over the M4 when it was released in the 90's, far before United States civilians even knew it existed! It's really not that special over an M4, it may look cooler but that's not a justifiable answer to use it in combat with our troops! The reliability may be slightly above the M4, but the M4 has far more advantages because it's more modular.
@IMFDB the g36c has full rail system so it should be just as "modular" there's a lot to think about when comparing 2 different guns. they are both good rifles, I've heard g36 is lighter because of the polymer frame which is a plus. and even slight advantages in reliability can save your life. If it saves one life I think it would be worth it. but realistically I would think there are better replacements for the m4 than the g36...
@GuitarGuy0008 I'm thinking more outside the box when I mean modular. The M4 based rifle has over 100 times more parts and accessories to choose from than a G36C that goes beyond rails. I'm talking adjustable stocks, ambidextrous controls, barrels, and etc. I'm sure with the proper combination it can very well surpass any rifle on the market for general purpose combat. However most of these parts are not approved for use on US military guns because your modifying it.
It can be done google sl8 (civilian version of the g36) g36 conversion. i'm having one done it will be semi only but it will have be, in most respects a real g36 and legal. ;) Cant freaking wait.
By your post I see that your still underage etc.. So my suggestion would be finish school, get a job and move the hell out and then do whatever you like.
Hence why freaking Youtube needs better search and ignore options and or filters. So we can weed out the kids and nut jobs or whatever else you dislike.
oh shit! a friend and i went there and shot THAT gun! i remember saying, yes, we would like to shoot number 11, the umm, g36c..holy shit!!! thats pretty trippy!XD
Is that an SL8 build or the real thing? I notice it had select fire, is that allowed on a Form1? The reason i ask is bc i am looking into purchasing the SL8 conversion, I know it will be an SBR, but if I can get it with select fire Im getting it tomorrow!? Thanks for you help
@maxXx476 I dont get this gun..It looks like an submachine gun, but acts like an assault rifle..again thats what I think :P and that dosent mean i think it sucks i like it lol
Loved this rifle ever since I got issued it with my (then required) service in the Bundeswehr. There are different configurations for the G36 the V would be the standard size rifle, the K would be your carbine version, the C (compact) would be the shortest and smallest. There is also a LMG MG36 model as well. And the KV (export) and the A2 which is one of the newest variants.
don't get me wrong i think this is an awesome gun, but i'm forced to question the wisdom of a reciprocating charging handle on such a short weapon. I feel that longer guns with the increased forward weight can get away with the extra recoil generated by the moving parts but on a compact i would think it could be a problem. any thoughts?
Man why you guys arguing about the US constitution? I clicked on this video to watch the G36C. Please direct your political arguments to the forums that are made to discuss such topics. I want to read comments made about the weapon.
Sorry for an extensive post. It is clear that many legally owned guns flow to the "secondary" market over time. A huge number of guns is needed to reach such enormous crime rates in the US and most of them don't come from foreign sources. So where the hell these weapons come from? They just materialize in ghettos?
@LodovicoAriosto1 The Czech Republic's homicide rate is barely lower than Canada's and we have more guns per capita than the United States. How do you explain that? The problem in America isn't guns it is certain groups of the population that are undereducated, poor and young.
You're absolutely right. Now the US has two options:
1. reduce the "underclass" - it would be the best possible way but it seems impossible because the current socioeconomical system has not been able to achieve this in the last 100 years
2. prevent guns from spreading among population; one of the most efficient ways to do this is to make gun laws more restrictive.
@LodovicoAriosto1 Right, they are just going to make 200 million guns disappear like that, and in the process violate their constitution. It is not your business to tell another country what their gun laws should be just because you live in a socialist state. Besides, unless you live in the ghetto or the city your chances of dying from gun violence is very, very low.
@LodovicoAriosto1 I would rather live in America than any other country in the world. I will take freedom over security any day. And being a middle class white male there is about zero chance I will be killed. The fallacy of gun control is criminals do not follow laws. Where can it be shown that gun control causes a reduction in the homicide rate? At the height of Canadian gun control we had our peak in homicide rates.
@LodovicoAriosto1 You claim that your country has such low homicide rates because of gun control but you have some very slack gun laws in comparison to Canada. You can conceal handguns for no reason and own full automatic firearms?
Guns are ALWAYS going to be there, in Pakistan village people MAKE them in the end they're just metal. Criminals will ALWAYS have guns no matter what type of control and crime will not be reduced as most crime is committed with UNREGISTERED firearms, banning normal people from having them isn't going to happen in the US EVER, it's again our founding fathers' LAWS which they have documented in the constitution, California's restrictions are really pushing it. We don't care what you think.
I live in a very peaceful country (compared to the 99% rest of the world) and I can understand that there is a different approach to firearms in Europe and the US. European countries went through a massive disarmament of private subjects (people, private corporations) during the 18th century. The US didn't experience this process.
Although the firearms are basically tools for killing people, they are of course essential for national defense and I like shooting in video games but that's all.
There will NEVER be a disarmament in the US because it's against the constitution, trying to ban firearms is ILLEGAL. We don't care what everyone thinks, no country in the world would try to invade us partly because of our military BUT partly because there are so many guns, any force coming in would need to face not only military but civilian forces, it would be suicide but take Australia, it has a small population, a weak and undersized military, not many armed civilians, it doesn't look good.
ah, yet another liberal basing gun laws on opinions and not facts/statistics. Do you realize class 3 firearms (fully automatic) avg. around $15k. And that the purchasers of these weapons are dr.'s, lawers, investers....people who can drop $10-20k on a firearm. If you ever went to this gun shop/club you'd see mostly mercedes', bmw's, and range rovers in the parking lot.....So I guess educated, well off citizens have pysh. problems.......look over there, a tree you can hug.
many gun nuts have serious psychological problems. that's why you must go through psychological tests before getting a gun in most countries.
Do you ever wonder why there are 11k gunshot deaths in the US annually?
In my country there are up to 5 gunshot deaths each year. And it is not because people cannot get guns. It is because they tend to not solve problems by guns...
So yet you still base your "psychological" statement on opinion. Obviously you dont live in America, because you would know that a very, VERY, small % of gun related homicides are commited by legal gun owners. Yes America has a problem with gun violence, but the majority of those crimes are NOT done by registered gun owners. Guns are a hobby for many people, and an expensive hobby at that.
Do you even though that since the assault weapons law was enacted in the 1930's (which requires a background check and registration) that there has only be ONE homicide commited EVER that was commited with a legaly registered machine gun. So I guess you're right, only a PERSON (yes one person) with "psychological problems" would want a fully automatic weapon.....by the way, that homicide happened in the 1970's and was commited by a police officer.
Most of legal firearms owners never commit any crime. For now we can dismiss such cases in which children find a weapon of their daddy in a table...
But I still say that the enormous number of murders in the USA is highly determined by irrational vigilant mentality (although caused by terrible police work) and easy spread of guns among people. It is obvious that many guns end up in black market or are smuggled between states due to different gun laws (legal guns from Michigan to New York...)
@LodovicoAriosto1 Most crimes are committed by illegal firearms. Its in our constitution to keep and bear arms. Why cant you guys respect our different ways?
@LodovicoAriosto1 The difference in your country and mine is: the 2nd amendment gives the people the right to keep and bear arms to keep the government in check. We are also next to 3rd world populations that migrate legally and illegally to this country not respecting our culture and ways. The unfortunatly reality of us keeping arms is that some get stolen and criminals use them against law abiding citizens. The U.S and europe are very different in how we control weapons. We are still free.
Plus guns are always going to be available to criminals, some even make them cause at the end it's just metal, with the right tools they can be made, the black market is always there so dumb anti gun homos go out there and try to ban law abiding citizens from protecting their families. Even the Japanese said they wouldn't invade the US because there would be a gun behind every blade of grass, that should be proof enough we need them. Anyways I'm keeping my guns no matter what and so should you.
rofl dude don't debate the retard, these tree huggers are never going to get it so no use wasting time and energy. Just keep your guns and defend your rights and if they have a problem with you.....they WILL have a problem with you. When we're under risk of invasion that same tree hugging vegetarian is going to be hiding behind you and your gun for protection, double standard anyone?
In Germany e.g. civilians are not allowed to use fully automatic weapons, bullpup designs and some other stuff like no mounted laserpointers or flashlights.
You even violate the law if you add a flashlight to your SOFTAIR weapon lol.
Because of these regulations HK developed a special civilian version of the G-36, the SL-8. It features semi-automatic fire and only 10 rounds per magazine.
In my shitty country i cant bear any semi-automatic rifle who have a "military" design, like any ordinary AR. If we talk about firearms, Europe sux. Europeans and specialy Germans do some of the best rifles in the world, bot not for civilians. WTF dude, i dont evan have the right to own just a fucking handgun. Governments are too scared and dont trust us to give M416, G36C and MP7(semiauto) to people.
I agree, it's interesting that young germans can renew they conscription, which includes possible relocation to e.g. Afghanistan.
So, because of the school shootings you have to be 21 (it was 18 before, but pupils still go on killing sprees as they just take their parents weapons) and comply to a medical-psychological examination, a 19 year old (renewed) conscript could meet Taliban face-to-face but not buy a weapon in his country... yep that's logic right there.
full auto rifles shouldnt be alowed for everyone, in my opinion - they should be legal but very expensive and require a detailed pschological exam and police background check.
@iComment17 Full Auto Weapons now can run higher than $10,000 US Dollars. What makes these guns so unique and have the capability to fire full auto is a removable mechanism inside the gun called a sear. A sear is a main part that makes the weapons full auto and can be higher than $8,000. These products most of the time require a class III license that is very hard to get. Basically everything in your comment has already taken effect.
@blub2121 The SL-8 now has a conversion system that can make the exterior of the rifle look like any series of G36 rifles you want as long as you have the right parts. But the internal mechanism is what makes the gun a semi-automatic or a selective fire fully-automatic. The SL-8 alone can accept 30 round and 100 round magazines as well but can get in the way if firing in prone but may still be banned in the laws of Germany.
@joeylenseigne120 he already has being told its a 5.56, and how can he learn with out asking questions? he asked the question so he can learn and now he knows so leave him alone
i love how the g36 has almost as little recoil as the mp5. it's the first assault rifle i ever shot in full auto and i was able to put a 15 round burst all into a good grouping, i have the vid in my profile
how much recoil is it, i havent shot mp5 so i cant compare, but is it like: u think it's gonna be rough but then u realise it's "nothing" (more or less)?
1: No cussing 2: No spitting 3: No blasphemy 4: No pressing anything obscene against the glass 5: No vagrancy 6: No soliciting 7: No armpit farting noises 8: No farting (see above) 9: No camping out and sniping the other shooters 10: No screaming WOLVERINES! after a mag dump. 11: And absolutely no Terminator references when asking to see something from the rack. (IE UZI 9mm said in an Austrian accent, or Phase plasma rifle in 40 watt range in same accent.)

why would a civilian want a gun like this?
mere fact that a civilian wants this weapon tells us something about his psychological status...
LodovicoAriosto1 2 years ago
ah, yet another liberal basing gun laws on opinions and not facts/statistics. Do you realize class 3 firearms (fully automatic) avg. around $15k. And that the purchasers of these weapons are dr.'s, lawers, investers....people who can drop $10-20k on a firearm. If you ever went to this gun shop/club you'd see mostly mercedes', bmw's, and range rovers in the parking lot.....So I guess educated, well off citizens have pysh. problems.......look over there, a tree you can hug.
siccsoul916 2 years ago
many gun nuts have serious psychological problems. that's why you must go through psychological tests before getting a gun in most countries.
Do you ever wonder why there are 11k gunshot deaths in the US annually?
In my country there are up to 5 gunshot deaths each year. And it is not because people cannot get guns. It is because they tend to not solve problems by guns...
LodovicoAriosto1 2 years ago
So yet you still base your "psychological" statement on opinion. Obviously you dont live in America, because you would know that a very, VERY, small % of gun related homicides are commited by legal gun owners. Yes America has a problem with gun violence, but the majority of those crimes are NOT done by registered gun owners. Guns are a hobby for many people, and an expensive hobby at that.
siccsoul916 2 years ago
Do you even though that since the assault weapons law was enacted in the 1930's (which requires a background check and registration) that there has only be ONE homicide commited EVER that was commited with a legaly registered machine gun. So I guess you're right, only a PERSON (yes one person) with "psychological problems" would want a fully automatic weapon.....by the way, that homicide happened in the 1970's and was commited by a police officer.
siccsoul916 2 years ago
Most of legal firearms owners never commit any crime. For now we can dismiss such cases in which children find a weapon of their daddy in a table...
But I still say that the enormous number of murders in the USA is highly determined by irrational vigilant mentality (although caused by terrible police work) and easy spread of guns among people. It is obvious that many guns end up in black market or are smuggled between states due to different gun laws (legal guns from Michigan to New York...)
LodovicoAriosto1 2 years ago
@LodovicoAriosto1 Most crimes are committed by illegal firearms. Its in our constitution to keep and bear arms. Why cant you guys respect our different ways?
hanskaltwasser 1 year ago
@LodovicoAriosto1 The difference in your country and mine is: the 2nd amendment gives the people the right to keep and bear arms to keep the government in check. We are also next to 3rd world populations that migrate legally and illegally to this country not respecting our culture and ways. The unfortunatly reality of us keeping arms is that some get stolen and criminals use them against law abiding citizens. The U.S and europe are very different in how we control weapons. We are still free.
hanskaltwasser 1 year ago
Plus guns are always going to be available to criminals, some even make them cause at the end it's just metal, with the right tools they can be made, the black market is always there so dumb anti gun homos go out there and try to ban law abiding citizens from protecting their families. Even the Japanese said they wouldn't invade the US because there would be a gun behind every blade of grass, that should be proof enough we need them. Anyways I'm keeping my guns no matter what and so should you.
princepersia1 1 year ago
rofl dude don't debate the retard, these tree huggers are never going to get it so no use wasting time and energy. Just keep your guns and defend your rights and if they have a problem with you.....they WILL have a problem with you. When we're under risk of invasion that same tree hugging vegetarian is going to be hiding behind you and your gun for protection, double standard anyone?
princepersia1 1 year ago
can civilians have one of this?
catalinux007leiro 2 years ago
Depends on your country.
It features semi-automatic fire and only 10 rounds per magazine.
blub2121 2 years ago
In my shitty country i cant bear any semi-automatic rifle who have a "military" design, like any ordinary AR. If we talk about firearms, Europe sux. Europeans and specialy Germans do some of the best rifles in the world, bot not for civilians. WTF dude, i dont evan have the right to own just a fucking handgun. Governments are too scared and dont trust us to give M416, G36C and MP7(semiauto) to people.
catalinux007leiro 2 years ago
I agree, it's interesting that young germans can renew they conscription, which includes possible relocation to e.g. Afghanistan.
So, because of the school shootings you have to be 21 (it was 18 before, but pupils still go on killing sprees as they just take their parents weapons) and comply to a medical-psychological examination, a 19 year old (renewed) conscript could meet Taliban face-to-face but not buy a weapon in his country... yep that's logic right there.
blub2121 2 years ago
full auto rifles shouldnt be alowed for everyone, in my opinion - they should be legal but very expensive and require a detailed pschological exam and police background check.

i dont understand what you are trying to say here...
iComment17 2 years ago
@iComment17 Full Auto Weapons now can run higher than $10,000 US Dollars. What makes these guns so unique and have the capability to fire full auto is a removable mechanism inside the gun called a sear. A sear is a main part that makes the weapons full auto and can be higher than $8,000. These products most of the time require a class III license that is very hard to get. Basically everything in your comment has already taken effect.

eyanctly or genau ;-)
TheIcebomber 2 years ago
@blub2121 The SL-8 now has a conversion system that can make the exterior of the rifle look like any series of G36 rifles you want as long as you have the right parts. But the internal mechanism is what makes the gun a semi-automatic or a selective fire fully-automatic. The SL-8 alone can accept 30 round and 100 round magazines as well but can get in the way if firing in prone but may still be banned in the laws of Germany.

i love how the g36 has almost as little recoil as the mp5. it's the first assault rifle i ever shot in full auto and i was able to put a 15 round burst all into a good grouping, i have the vid in my profile

i love it too :)

how much recoil is it, i havent shot mp5 so i cant compare, but is it like: u think it's gonna be rough but then u realise it's "nothing" (more or less)?
