The PS3 and Xbox 360 and CPU are all about the same. Without a doubt its much easier to use a console instead of the CPU. What Im saying is that the consoles like the PS3 for instance are made for gaming and you can dedicate all hardware, software etc, to that fact. Honestly I use the PS3 for my online stuff as well so I would have to say that Id rather have my PS3 than my CPU because I can do everything with the PS3. 320 Gigs, BlueRay,FREE online gaming, Netflix, etc. PS3 wins,...hands down.

It turns out that the console versions of the game will look just as good as the pc... Dice is offering a graphic upgrade through a hdd download... The xbox will come in 2 discs one with the multiplayer and the hdd download and the other disc with the single player campaign while the ps3 version will have all that on 1 disc... So stop fighting over which one is the best when they all will look just about the same

Truth is the PS3 and 360 are nearly identical in terms of hardware, and just because you have 2 disks doesn't mean you have more content, it means that the game is larger than 9gb.

360 can only read DVD, which is up to 9gb, PS3 can read blu-ray and DVD, blu-ray is about 48gb.

Backbuffer is the rendered image before it is scaled to output resolution. They are asking if the HUD is drawn before or after scaling. Blit is an operation to combine images (here: HUD + output). Have a look at Bit Blit on wikipedia.

I am a (non-game) dev and I used pixel buffers and stuff like this in the past (on PC). The purpose of those buffers is to combine them with other buffers and do computations and operations on them. Saying the backbuffer is supposed to be used to blit HUD and rendering is like saying scissors are only for paper.

Nothing special about that tweet. HUD has to do with the rendering of the 2d elements of the game (minimap, messages, stuff like that). The guy asked if they render the characters directly into the portion of memory which is displayed on the screen or if it's rendered in "temp" memory (the backbuffer) along with all other 3d elements and then transferred at once to the visible memory. This transfer from one portion of memory to another is called "blitting". This is very common in animations.
