@Jons572 I wish I could post links here so I could post a link to the rim and tire after they picked it up off the side of the road... It looks crazy. It also burned the kevlar off the underside of the car. Oh and of course the front drivers side shock was broken in half too...
@supercoofoo Yeah! The tire was flat from the crash on up. That crash was about 4 miles before the corner at 4:19 (cog cut) the tire finally shredded to the point where it popped off the rim. They ran the final 2 miles on the rim and got 4th in Time Attack 4wd!
@2:31 little girl in the pink jacket. Gee, thx dad! Maybe on our next Father Daughter outing we can take a scenic tour thru Baghdad. The drive home I bet he was trying to convince her not to tell Mommy.
@brasanford1 Do it! We used 10 GoPro HD's to make this video as well as my Canon Digi SLR to do the outside shots. Pretty psyched with all of the video but unfortunately it is tough to keep the lenses clean on the mountain
@kduncan01 and found that they had crashed at ragged edge and later found out that they crashed, lost a headlight, lost a side skirt, tore a hole in their front suspension and tore the tire on their rear wheel. By the time they got to Cog Cut the were running on a rim and when they got to the top at 12:12 they found that they had just placed 4th in their class… 15 seconds down from the leader while running a flat for the last 5-6 miles of the race.
@kduncan01 Yeah, that is the tire coming off. When they wrecked into the guardrail they were about 5-6 miles from the finish and that drivers side rear tire was instantly slashed and flat. They ran on the flat till it finally fell off at cog cut which is about 1 mile from the finish. (maybe a bit less) The front drivers side shock was split in half at the body and the piston was siezed so basically the drivers side of the car was pretty useless, but they ran to the top and for 4th, 15sec back
@kduncan01 Absolute dedication, those guys WILL make it to the top as long as the car is still moving and not blowing fluids all over the place. Wait till you see the full run, I'll have it up later this week, they were sitting there for 35 seconds based on the video, trying to get it off the hay bales!
