  • this was very interesting. thank you

  • Americans Are From The American Continent Unitedstatesians Are From United States America=Amerigo Vespucci=Italian=Latin I Am An American My Ancestors Have Been On these Lands Before The Spanish Conquistadors Landed What We Call The American Continent The Only Thing That Interferes With My Learning Is My Education Albert Einstein

  • Ridden with inferiority complex... look at how many comments you have about how you're mistaking spaniards with latinos (when you make it very clear you've lived in Spain for over 27 years), it's OBVIOUS you know well who spaniards are....

I don't even try to understand that character.... I find them just fake, tome they're very provincial, full of stereotypes and 0 interest for the world beyond their semi-desertic country!

I live in Switzerland, lots of them here, never get along with them!

  • @CaptAw3s0m3 At least British people know Spain is in Europe, but US people think spain is in south america and that all spanish speaking people are brown skinned.

In the US if you speak Spanish or have a Spanish name they think you are MEXICAN, thus non-white.... No matter if you are blonde and light-skinned, no matter if you take a DNA test and prove that you are 100% white european, THEY STILL BELIEVE YOU ARE NOT WHITE JUST BECAUSE YOU SPEAK SPanish or have a spanish last name......

  • @acquilez70 Yes, they are supposed to be saying: 'God bless the United States of America' because thats the official name of the country.

Pretty long name? Then look for a shorter name. Thats the official name of the country, isnt it?

  • You forget to mention that most americans think spain is somewhere in latin america

  • @folladordeprostis I didn't forget. But, I think there's at least an equal percentage of Spaniards who are weak on geography as well. The top universities in the world are all American and British. The first Spanish university to make the list of top universities in the world comes in at 230-240, U. Complutense in Madrid. I've taught in private universities in Spain and, in my opinion, they're a heck of a lot easier than American universities.

  • @MadridTeacher Also many americans think spain is a 3rd world country and many spaniards also think all latinos are south americans ,even dominicans and cubans are reffered as south americans, british dislike spaniards a lot,but at least they know spain is in europe

  • @MadridTeacher But you speak spanish, right?? because the average spaniard don't speak english as 2nd language

  • @MadridTeacher Many americans think that, people from Spain have brown skin like latin american people.

  • @folladordeprostis

It is because the history of more of 300 years of Spain in what is now the United States, has been completely eliminated of the official history of the United States. So many Americans are unaware that the first Thanksgiving Day was Spanish (Pedro Menendez in 1565 in Florida or Juan de Oñate in 1598 in Texas

  • @folladordeprostis

Pocahontas is a canard of the British, based on a true story about 100 years before, of the Spanish captain Juan Ortiz with Ulele, daughter of an Indian chief of the Florida; or that the cowboy, the horse or agriculture is a legacy of the Spanish empire...Only are some examples

You read " the black legend ", of Tony Horwitz, or " La leyenda negra, un invento contra España ", of Philip W. Powell

  • @acquilez70 Mexico says "Estados Unidos Mexicanos" so I don't know why they don't call themselves Americans. I just don't think they care about they're name.

  • @acquilez70 OK, so people from America (the continent) are not Americans, only the one from USA are. Is that your point? And "God bless USA" may be too long for them.

    Whatever...

  • @acquilez70 Of course "America" standing for "USA" it's an abreviation, but a very misleading one too, that's what I'm talking about. When they say "God bless America" they aren't just asking for blessing for the rest of the continent.

  • *twitches* You lived in Spain?? > n <

Lucky lucky lucky lucky!! D: I want to visit Spain SOOOO bad

    Ah, even your name...Madrid<3<3<3

  • España es un pais con Historia

    Estados Unidos no tiene historia...

  • @xZSeRkZx U.S. is country of 200 years, this country can compare with Spain? is ridiculous, while Spain was one of the world's largest empires U.S. still did not exist, according to U.S. has 100 years of absolute power, but it's ridiculous, A COMPARISON WITH SPAIN, I have read the U.S. according to this collapse as an empire, only 100 years while the Spanish empire lasted 400 years, and our ancient culture, ridiculous to compare any former colony of Europe, with European countries sorrymyenglish

  • Haha, Very funny and true on many thoughts. We r u originally from?

  • In my conception, Spaniards are short, brunet with good features and talk too much! However have some good family values! However not all of them are like that. Some of the Barca crowds are a bunch of ignorant brunet hooligans, but some descent God-fearing Southern Europeans!

  • @amasonga A very simplistic and stereotyped description.

  • @amasonga Many spaniards are blonde, green/blue eyed and light-skinned. My brother is blonde green eyed, but I am dark-haired. we are both 100% spaniards.

Spaniards don't look so different to french or british... Spaniards are white people.

  • Why do people from the USA use the term "American" to refer to themselves but not to the rest of the people in the America continent, who are generally called "latin" (even if the origin of latin culture was Europe not America)?

  • @conatcha I don't know why we've always call ourselves "Americans," but I'm sure that it wasn't just to spite the rest of North and South America. On the other hand, a lot of "Americans" tend to be a bit insular even now and probably moreso 100-200 years ago when the term was most assuredly first coined. The "latin" thing probably has a lot to do with what you said: Spanish and Portuguese are more related to the now dead Roman language than English is.

  • @MadridTeacher "United-Statesian" seems to sound weird in English. Indeed, the name "United States" does not reveal any nationality itself (just the existance of a political federation), so I guess "America" was all it was left to use. Dictionaries say "America" may refer either to the US or the continent as a whole (although you divide it into two separate ones, thus making "the Americas" a valid term too). Anyway, let me thank you for both videos, they are quite accurate and not stereotypical.

  • @conatcha It is a language issue. There really is not another word in English to say American. In Spanish you can say "estadounidense" but English has no other single word in its vocabulary to designate a citizen of the United States of America except for American. Unitedstatesian is not a word! That's why were are simply "Americans"

  • @jasonlawmadrid Now, that is an answer.

  • latin is term for the latin speaking countries in the roman empire (whose official lenguage was called latin). spain, italy, romania and france are latin countries.

sometimes is embarrassing when i read the u.s. census only calls latin to the south americans.

  • @CaptAw3s0m3 Good point. I've got to say and I am myself Spaniard, born here, mainly always lived here, Spaniard parents, and I am as white as the wall (i don't know if that expression works in English, it does in Spanish) and, besides, I do not tan well. Therefore, I'd challenge someone to call me "latina", if it's not for my mother tongue...

  • @Eilliniel You're still a Latina, because your origins lay in Iberia, no matter how you look. Most northwestern Europeans especially Brits,Irish , Dutch don't tan too well and some don't tan at all! Anyway those Latina who have bronzed skin are by far more beautiful than Northern Europeans! Go Penelope Cruz! Pretty Latina!

  • @amasonga I'm not more latina than my French or Italian neighbours, it's not only Iberia, it's all territories where roman languages are spoken. And you don't see anyone calling a Frog a latino... though I would love to see that.

The problem is most people misunderstand this and think it's only something related with the Spanish language, here and in South America.

And i have no problem with our bronzed skin, I wish I could tan better! I just require more sun and patience than most here.

  • american from argentina,from cuba,from alaska,from usa?

  • @IhateJBjustinBieber hehehe, I get your comment. Based on his video's content I can tell you this is from the U.S.A.

  • Where exactly from the US are you from?

  • @micaela1488

The first people to call Americans "Americans" were the British. That's that!

    Canada-canadians

    Estados Unidos Mexicanos (México)- Mexicanos

    Estados Unidos Colombianos (Colombia)-Colombianos

United States Of America- Americans, etc.,

    United States of America- Americans

  • The only thing I would ask you to do is to add examples of what references are made. That would be great! Thank you. ie: a spaniard is less agressive when commenting on one having gained weight. I appreciate how objective your information is, that's how I can tell youare american! por lo demas se nota que se te ha castellanizado! jeje. Please add specific examples with regards to your comments Thanks again!

  • you're cool man, thanks for putting your comments up. In my view this is the type of scholarship that practical people need to know more about. Please keep teaching us about the spanish. muchisimas gracias, un tio que vaga por california.

  • America is very big so...who are the Americans?

  • @FishBrothersReturns all of us in America

  • I'm half Spanish and half Greek an I hate it when people think you have to be super dark brown to be a spaniard(I'm mostly Spanish), But most people ask me if I'm puerto rican. No offense to puerto ricans but I hate being called that. I also hate it when people say your not Spanish if you can't speak it. Because when my grandma came to America she thought she wouldn't need to speak Spanish and didn't teach my family.

  • @117spartansoldier Look how funny things are that Spaniards have also the impression that Americans are super dark brown, especially after the basket final in the Olympics. I've never seen a "super dark brown" Spaniard in my life, not even a Spanish gypsy. However, it seems that in America is not uncommon.

  • @SpanishHunkyGuy Are you a retard? Basketball players in the U.S. team are Blacks or African-Americans, of course their skin color is dark brown! Most White Americans have some Anglo-Saxon ancestry, thus are usually lighter than most Spaniards.

  • @117spartansoldier You hate being called Puerto-Rican, because you suffer from a complex of inferiority! It's not wrong for people to mistake you for that, because most Puerto-Rican are partly or fully Spaniard in ancestry anyway! The physical between Greeks and Spaniards is not that great at all.

  • AMERICANS??¿?¿ WHAT AMERICANSç?¿?¿?¿ ENGLAND,SPAIN,ITALY,AFRICA. AMERICANS EUROPEANS

  • @moguritofsg Africa is Europe now?

  • On my recent backpack trip through Europe, I was often mistaken for a Spaniard. I speak Americanized Spanish, sometimes referred to as, " Spanglish". I am Greek Mexican and the biggest backlash I received was in Greece because I could not speak Greek, owch, but I met many Spaniards and were no communication barriers. I met Brits, Irish, Dutch, and had no problems, Europe had very friendly people! and yes the first line spoken distinguishes you as an American

  • Creo q lo q casi todos los españoles creemos de los estadounidenses , es q son ignorantes.. en realidad no es su culpa, muchos no pueden acceder a una educacion superior y sus medios de comunicacion los mantienen en la ignorancia

  • there's a lot of things that we think "americans" didn't understand. in fact when you say your country is America, and you are americans, it's a wrong term, cuz America is a continent. You should say United States, or North america at least. it feels like you think all this continent belong to you.and second: it's really annoying when you call every latin american or spaniard "hispanic" -_- there's a lot of differences between us, it's like if i call you english.

  • @micaela1488 There are two ontinents north and south america the people who reside in the UNited states of america are called americans.

  • @Jvmco124 of course but that's wrong.

  • Do not confuse Spain and the Spanish who are citizens of Europe, the Spanish of Latin Europe are not Mexicans, Peruvians, Argentines, Colombians etc, I think in the U.S. are not entirely clear

  • it is because of this fragmentation that I think your argument should be more location specific to what part of America you are speaking about. What America have you experienced, because I've spent extended periods of time in New Orleans, San Francisco, New York, Philadelphia and Boston and although there are undeniable similarities, each area is also very much its own (the northeast cities less so, but regardless there are differences).

  • bring up Xavi or Torres. I know that you made this video for the sake of debate, and this is my point of contention. I find a lot of patriotism down in the south, and I am sure that if a Spaniard from somewhere outside of Madrid were to move to New York City and make a video comparing Spain and the United States, they would say that people in Spain are way more patriotic than in the United States. You mentioned that the United States is so fragmented, and Spain is not as much. I agree and

  • continued from comment below-- patriotic. The kids that I teach ask me if I like football. When I tell them that I do, but I prefer basketball, they instantly begin declaring that Pau Gasol is the best basketball player in the world. When discussing football, Spain is the best team in the world, or either Real Madrid or Barcelona are the best teams. When I mention that their favorite players from these two teams are not from Spain (Messi from Argentina and Cristiano from Portugal they just

  • I do not know if it is because I am from the Northeast and primarily urban areas where I believe that intelligence and patriotism are not typically very congruent (at least among the left-leaning crowds of upper middle class private university undergraduates who dream of a romanticized vision of open European society) but I grew up in an America that was not all that patriotic, and I've come to Andalucía, where I am now living and working and I find the Spaniards down here to be particularly

  • @calcium888 All good points. It's a shame Youtube doesn't allow longer comments.

  • @MadridTeacher You have spanish descent?

  • Comment removed

  • Another friend is of Corsican background from Puerto Rico and has an Italian surname which is VERY typical of Puerto Ricans of Corsican descent. She attended university (Ivy League) & will NEVER forget the innumerable times she had to explain who she was because the "portorican" public image is of brown, drug-addicted thugs living in NYCghettoes. She was white, upper class, educated &spoke 5 languages &Americans CANNOT wrap themselves around truth when stereo-types are so much more comforting.

  • I went to graduate school with a fellow who had grown up in Puerto Rico.

His parents were Chinese immigrants to Cuba who emigrated to PR when Cuba was taken over by Castro. He speaks Cantonese,Spanish,English &Japanese. When he tells Americans he is from Puerto Rico, typically an argument follows from idiot Americans who have NO clue about people who share the same hemisphere with them.He has stopped telling people he is from Puerto Rico or Cuba because he is SOOOOOO tired of American idiots!

  • American's knowledge of ANYTHING that concerns Spain, Spanish-Speaking OR anything from Latin America is best described as "information" learned from the Taco Bell Drive-up Window or from Dancing Chihuahuas on TV.The ENDLESS "estupideces" of the "Latino" or "Hispanic" race (which has NEVER existed in the HISTORY of man is RAMPANT.They are profoundly stupid about the rest of the planet & they are VERY proud of to cover it up with even uglier arrogance. They're a cultural embarrassment everywhere!

  • ...to make matters worse, the HUGE influx of illegal Mexicans,C. Americans (MOST of whom are of indigenous background) has imprinted the PUBLIC image of ANYTHING with ANY Spanish or Hispanic connection into one that is represented in the HUGE American media as BROWN & INDIGENOUS-LOOKING.As a result, when Americans meet a White,a Black,Middle Eastern or Asian who is ALSO FROM a Spanish-speaking context, their heads just EXPLODE.The brown stereo-type is PERMANENTLY imbedded in American heads. SAD!

  • Many americans think spain is somewhere in latin america

  • Well I'm a spaniard and black. And pretty much I agree with some stuff. This is a random thing to say but I feel like saying it anyways; is anybody in this world part spaniard/black besides me? Comment please.

  • @KaylasbChannel...so you're"Spaniard & Black"?Get real & Stop cultural hi-jacking.You're either a mulatta who has 1 White Spanish parent & 1 "Black" parent from somewhere or the same mix from somewhere else & happen to live in Spain .I have lived & traveled throughout Spain extensively AND I am of Galician, Basque &Mallorcan background so I have a better-than-average knowledge of what "Spanish" is and YOU are NOT a Spaniard even though you might have a Spanish passport. Stop culture-stealing!

  • viva españa!

  • Aren't americans spaniards????? cause saniards discover america then little by little people from all over the country started to come in and live in america cause there land are boring?

  • @SpartanV15 latin american is not even a race

  • @supermanuman95

    And Spaniards are one?

  • @Axon36 I didnt say it was, did I?

  • @supermanuman95

    So.. the point is?

  • @Axon36 what? * facepalm*

  • Comment removed

  • @Mbalakala That's right. I agree.

  • Spain the largest empire in world history

  • We are not idiots... America is a big lie.

Most people live in apartments and houses full of cockroaches.

Women are fat, rude and vulgar...fake blondes.

All they do is eat McDonald's and smoking cigarettes.

PS. I doubt that you know how to write Spanish properly.

  • Hah, you know us too well!. I saw both of your videos and i agree with most of your points,of course those stereotypes don't apply to everyone and aren't always true. ... but in general your description of the Spaniards is quite accurate.

  • Spanish is European and white.. Mexicans shouldnt even be considered Latin because they are Native American descendants and have no European blood whatsoever..so what is the point ?? Spanish people look dramatically different from South Americans

  • @WWPSdvia are you kidding me? you have NO idea what you are saying.. i cant even... FIRST off, DONT say hispanics (south americans) have no european blood which is not true at all. take me for example. my parents are both south american, my mom is mostly of spanish descent and you can tell. she has light brown hair/eyes. argentina is 90 something percent white. the majority of mexico and south america's population is MESTIZO. a mix of native american and WHITE.please think before you post. .

  • @nati448

I couldn't agree with you more!

  • @nati448 I was referring mainly to Mexicans, Peruvians, Colombians, the dark South Americans that looks like Filipinos and they think they are Latinos..I know Argentina has a lot of German and Italians take for example Natalia Oreiro.. I think a lot don't you worry.... what Americans should know is that Latin = pure European cause the language started there ..beside im Swedish but I studied a lot of history in College.

  • ignorant

  • the difference is that the beginnings of America or " Americans" lie with Spain, this means that American History Starts with Spain, it is US that took our culture to THEM first, its something that can never be undone

  • WOW! 27 years. How did you decide to move to Spain?

  • spaniards are hot

  • gracias.

  • I'm Spanish American (born in the US) and I would just like to say that I really do not like the latino Spanish. To me, they way the Spaniards speak Spanish is the correct way and it is not an accent, the "th" it's called a PRONUNCIATION ceceo, Latinos have an accent for not speaking correctly.

  • @CharlieeMonster so what? Latin American countries are not under Spanish rule anymore, get over it.

  • @MetalBassjunkie420 My post had nothing to do with Latinos being ruled by Spaniards. You should watch wgtbyou comment.

  • Spanish people hide things more maybe because they are afraid they are going to steal it? mmm I think that would be in the american case not the spanish one. Here criminality is almost non-existent while in the US it is almost everywhere. US is one of the most dangerous countries in the world not Spain. Things are, fortunately, very calm in Europe.

  • MICHAEL MOORE

  • I totally agree. I'm an International Student from Mexico, and I've seen different behaviors in the US. I just take advantages of different cultures of mine.

  • Spain is undoubtedly the country with better quality of life

  • @rocha1111 well, let me doubt it, I was born in Spain and lived here for 26 years, now I live in Denmark and depending on what you mean with quality of life, but for me Denmark has it better... but it is just my opinion and I still think Spain is a great country to live in, don't missunderstand me.

  • @rocha1111

where did u get that information from? haha..

  • @rocha1111 That's why their unemployment rate is higher than in the States and they have to go to surrounding countries to search for work. Right.

  • @gbellavable ask Alan greenspan about this, he may now why the whole economy exploded and fucked up europe

so yes, thanks america for the world economic crisis.

  • i mean i am canadian and i see it a lot here too. for instance, to concur about the last part of this vid where you did an example of a silly question "you never knew sugar comes from beets?", well here in canada i make mistakes and ask dumb questions like most people and from my experience people single you out and scrutinize and criticize you, like you're a piece of crap to them, people i have even called friends have done that. i doubt you would ever experience that in spain.

  • @booblebumthumb I have experienced a couple of times it in Spain but a heck of a lot less intensively than in the States or England.

  • @MadridTeacher Hi! You should add some other things we, the "Spaniards" think about US people. We also think youre more illiterate (I mean, not cultivated) by mean, and youre also more extremists in religion, etc, also that youre like puppets controlled by dumb governments which are controlled by big companies. Something we really hate about US is that there you have no protection. In Spain, the BEST healthcare (3rd in the world) is free, university too, school too, retirement money, etc. Thx.

  • @MadridTeacher I can tell you that us spaniards are patriotic(ofc not as much as the USA), where you in Madrid when spain won the world cup? Thousands of cars with spanish flags invaded the city, it was crazy (also happened in my city, Zaragoza, and also in Cataluña, Bilbao...) There are just a few people that are not patriotic, the separatists, but the rest of people are patriotic. Maybe you have met the wrong people.

  • @MadridTeacher I must recognize that you pointed a lot of true things on your video, but some of them are a bit exagerated, I mean you just can't generalize for everything.

    Kind regards.

  • @Lalmix "You can't generalize for everything" is in and of itself a generalization. In any case, I pointed out that I was generalizing in the video as a "disclaimer." It's just for the sake of debate, if you know what I mean.

  • @MadridTeacher well, all those things are very sad, if they are true. I think the Spaniards keep confusing us for the Brits.

  • @MadridTeacher

Is it true that spaniards are racist against latinamericans, native americans(amerindians), blacks, asians. arabs, mulattoes and mestizos? Why Spain has an unemployment rate of 21.3%? Is Spain a safe place to visit?

  • @dontxspeed Humanity being what it is, I suppose that there are racists no matter where you go. So, yes, some Spaniards are racist. I think there's well over 21.3% unemployment. I've heard it's closer to 24%. This government probably plays games with the numbers. The rate's over 40% for young men and women due to the insider vs outsider employment-culture. Insider's jobs are protected and they're even getting pay raises. Thus far, Spain is safe enough to visit.

  • @MadridTeacher Excuse me, just safe enough to visit? Spain is MUCH SAFER than the USA. Just check crime rates.

And I guess it's more than just SAFE ENOUGH when Spain is the third most visited country in the world. More than 50 million of people visit us every year.

  • @dontxspeed I will answer you as a spaniard too, I didn't like the answer of MadridTeacher.

Spain is MUCH SAFER than the USA. Check crime rates.

It's more than safe when Spain is the third most visited country in the world. More than 50 million of people visit us every year. And by the way, what would you answer if I asked you if England is safe enough to visit?

Spain is an European first world country like England, and that high unemployment rates are because of the global economical crysis.

  • @dontxspeed And by the way I see a lot of racist comments of Americans on youtube everyday, does that make EVERY AMERICAN racist? I guess it's like that for you, or everyone is racist or no one is racist.

I mean your questions are so basic. No ofense but sometimes I wonder what you guys are taught at school. Spain is the country that discovered your continent, that's why south americans speak spanish, you know?

Spain was the most powerful empire by that time, like the USA now, but much more.

  • @Lalmix I agree.

  • not to say that these stereotypes arent true but quite honestly i dont think it is only america that is so different from spain and other spanish speaking countries. i think most of the world cant hold a candle to spanish/hispanic morals and values. americans, germans, the british, dutch, etc. mostly all have an asshole culture, where its all about themselves and generally being critical to others in order to make oneself feel better.

  • Your video is very interesting, quite accurate and honest. Well, I've never been in America but what you say about the spaniards it's quite true. Obviously, It's a stereotype, I mean there are all kind of people in Spain and America but what you say it's true. We love living in community because life living alone and far from our family and friends it's too boring and sad. In fact, for us it's an ofense if a foreigner doesn't want to interact with us or partying with us. Greetings from Spain

  • The problem is not with mexico, the problem is with Hollywood. They always film a mexican village with mexican people and say: "It is spain" and i like mexico, love it, but i am not mexican. Think about if every film about USA were filmed in England or Australy and everybody though that USA people speaks australian and are australians and USA capital were sydney for the world ... Hollywood should respect more the culture of spain.

  • Nice comparative, although I think that, maybe not the people, but the spanish history and identity is more religious and more christian (something which is more than good) than the american.

The picture of behind you.... is it the Valle de los Caidos? ;)

    Viva España!

  • im a Mexican of Spanish heritage and i look totally different from Mexicans

some people even ask if i am from the US

  • I really want to study spanish but I'm afraid that here in America I will learn Mexican spanish and not SPAIN spanish. Do you think I should still study it even when I'd rather study SPAIN spanish? I believe it's called Castillan.

  • @SanguineBullet667 The spanish or castilian language is exactly the same in Mexico and in Spain, there are just a very few words that are mexican slang, but we can understand each other perfectly, though if u study spanish in US you will learn spanish with a mexican accent.I think happen the same with American english and England english.

  • @Sara0ss you're wrong, the castillian or spanish from spain is not the same like the mexico, the language accent and the gramatic from spain is very diferent.

  • @SanguineBullet667 Ok, it's like this. We both - Spain and Mexico - speak Spanish. Now, the words are sometimes different and the accent is not the same. Is like learning English in Scotland or in Canada. The words are not always the same and the accent, well, in Canada a Scottish pronuntiation will probably sound weird.

  • @SanguineBullet667

I'm not from Mexico, but I can tell you that the educated person in Mexico speaks a very good formal Spanish ( actually the name of the language is actually Castilian, Castellano and saying that we speak Spanish is like saying that we speak British instead than English). Anyway there is nothing wrong learning good American Spanish even from Mexico or Hispanoamerica, there is plenty of Latin American literature Nobel prizes to prove it.

  • Its typical of Americans to just lump Mexico, Argentina, Spain, etc... into the same group. What stupid comments "Spaniards remind me of Mexicans, Guatemalans, and Muslims bcuz they are corrupt, racist, and lazy" ?? I even read a comment saying they should send Spaniards and Gypsies to Latin America!? Many American are mislead and stupid! They managed to lump Latin America, South Europe, N. Africa, the MiDEast, and East Europe into one group that is either Spain or Mexico.

  • @metalmosh6 I agree.

  • Thnx. Why must people steer off topic to apply their political or racist beliefs. Its amazing how Americans, on many videos on Spain and Spanish, try to find ways to insert immigration and how much they hate "Pressing 1 for english". Anyway, I went on ranting enough lol I really enjoyed your video, particularlly how the spanish view us Americans. I actually relate a slightly more to the spanish since I am Latino and were are very family based and community based. good vid

  • @metalmosh6 i agree many americans believe that they´re the masters of all world, and all thing that it sounds spanish, its latino from mexico or another country of southamerica, for that reazon many Europeans in this case spaniards hate americans, because they insult their culture for comparing it with another cultures where speak spanish, and it is totally ofensive.

  • @metalmosh6 fuck u you black motherfucker or white shit you are you americans are more lazy have of your life time you spend it on the couch

  • So true about every thing, but the part that I believe in the most is not being able to keep grudges. I mean you can pratically say anything to me and i will forget about it the next day lols...

  • about the fragmented point: what about the separatists in catalonia and the basque country?

  • spain is the country with most world cities heritage and the second country in the world with world heritage recognized by unesco.

From the andalusian gypsy flamenco to the northern galician and asturian bagpipers and catalan human castles. We have many languages and dialects as spanish as castilian and the most ancient one in europe, the basque, we are a melting pot of culture and im proud of it. im andalusian and actually i dont like that we are always seen as flamenco and guitar much more

  • @ipagrumregnum bien dicho, españa no es monolingue, pero compartimos historia y destino.

  • How sad that some comments posted here strayed away from the topic of discussion. For example, I have yet to figure out the connection between this presentation and the racial composition of Mexicans and/or their immigration status in the U.S. The strangest one of all, though, is whether Spain is mentioned in the Bible. Curiously enough, it is! This is in the OT in the Book of Obadiah verse 20. The Hebrews used to call Spain "Sepharad". Anyways people...stay on topic!

  • I am argentinian, but I happen to know some spaniards and I must say they are great people: they think for themselves, they are a little sassy, they are faithful friends, they are polite and welcoming, they are funny and witty, they value family and things related to the heart, they are passionate. Besides, their country is really beautiful, especially the beaches.

  • @fansdesofia I have heard that Spaniards are racists against us colored people, and think they're so great because the Spanish language started in their country. But I don't even know any Spaniards.

  • @MetalBassjunkie420 Well, in fact they are pretty racist towards arabs, colored people and native americans. Racism and bullfighting are their worst defects. Nevertheless, not all of them are racist.

  • @fansdesofia well I am a native american. Do you think if I go to Spain, they'll try to kill me or fight me?

  • @MetalBassjunkie420 I don't think they will try to kill you. I have native american blood myself and I had a great time in Spain (Granada). Some spaniards are racist, but most of the people are not, and, besides, they are very polite, so I think you will feel yourself wellcomed. However, while in Granada I met a guy who was pure Inca, and I noticed he was treated a bit different from the way they treated me. They weren't openly racist, but they did some subtle things instead, like not...

  • @MetalBassjunkie420 ...not giving him the coins in his hands in the supermarket. Instead of that the cashier oftenly leaved his coins in the counter, and things like that. Anyway, most of the people were very friendly, both to him and to me. It all depends on what kind of people you relate to: ignorant people tend to be racist, whereas educated people are mostly non-racist. Besides, other countries are even more racist than Spain. For example, and though I feel embarrased by it...

  • @MetalBassjunkie420 ...I must recognize that Argentina is also racist, at least in some parts like Buenos Aires and its sorroundings, and most of the argentinean racists are more despicable than spaniard racists, because they are more ignorant and brutal. Therefore, I think you should go to Spain and see for yourself. I believe you will love that country, because it has many wonderful things and, as I say, most of the spaniards are polite and welcoming...

  • @MetalBassjunkie420 Don't worry about the assholes, because you will find them not only in Spain, but anywhere in the world. Hence, just enjoy your visit to Spain, which I am sure will be very rewarding.

  • @MetalBassjunkie420 You will most likely not be killed or beat up, man...

Btw, there are tons of South American immigrants in Spain today. You won't be the first Native American they saw in their life, trust me.

  • Spaniards are very Unique people. Spaniards way of life is very different from any other country in the world. This is why ALL SPANIARDS are angry at this. If there was a country that is a little similar to Spanish people is Italians.

  • @FastMg42 there are a lot of mexicans who look like spaniards actually, if a spaniard came to Mexico, we would easily confuse them with a mexican until they open their mouth of course..

  • Spaniards are very proud of their history, country and people. Spanish people don't want to put anybody down, they just don't want their IDENTITY taken away. Spain is a very old country, so old it appears in Bible text as already a nation.

  • im from the philippines and here people are hard working life is tough here we always attend to work work work i was shocked bec i talked to a spaniard and he said that in spain the start work at 9am but he punches in at 10am(lol) and they have a siesta!!!! lol here especially in hospitals we have to be "in" 15 minutes before the time and we usually have over times(unpaid) its true spaniards are a bit laid back and too relaxed like they have no problems at all hahaha

  • no, it's a country, the eu is just a union

  • @fairyheli2

ya , but the EU (aka france and germany)still have to bail out countries like spain and greece. and whatever happens in the spanish and greek economies ( or any other country of the EU for that matter) have an impact in the economy of the entire bloc ( ex: imapact of the common currency).
