@redneckmarine87 May the grace of God and the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you always my Brother in Christ.
"Not under Rome's authority, which is understandable ?" Really ? Give it another thought bro. Did Jesus intend to establish all these Churches rather than the Church ?
There have been pretty nasty popes, but is that really a reason to break away from the Church ?
"Mistake on both sides" between Lutherans and Roman Comatholics..haha I like it. Keep it up! We all need to be united by faith, especially in this day and age.
And don't forget the small but holding it's opwn Old Catholic movement. And, young man, Martin Luther was no jerk.He was a devout Catholic until the pope of Rome ,like a jerk, excommunicated him.
Martin Luther didn't break away from the Roman Catholic Church. The pope at the time excommunicated him and all his followers. He could have extended a hand to dialogue, but instead preferred "war" as it were. It broke Luther's heart to leave the Catholic Church.
I agree wth you except in reguards with the Orthodox Church. Rome broke from the east not the east from the west. While many things brought this about, it was mainly the filioque, and the Papacy. The Orthodox haven't changed at all since the 7th century AD. And you also forgot the nonchalcedonian churches(Oriental Orthodox).
But dude I must say.. you are really really Catholic. Just curious, what is it thats preventing you from becoming Catholic ?
