Alan, the three songs you've done so far are terrific. I am enjoying the choices, the backdrops, your attire. Yes, it's clever packaging. But what really stands out is the musicianship and your pure delight in delighting us. Thanks so much. Can't wait for the next installment.
Great playing! But as to the issue of air play you're just not listening to the right stations. Bluesette has been recorded extensively, mostly by jazz musicians. For my generation it was on a Quincy Jones album, Mellow Madness, featuring the soon to be hit makers the Brothers Johnson, Frank Rosalino, on slide Trombone and the Belgian, himself, playing guitar and whistling. That version can be heard on smooth jazz and jazz stations worldwide.
You're right, and I just changed my verbiage to "Bluesette, as a song, doesn't get much radio play." That's kind of what I meant by "but musicians like it" -- I meant jazz musicians, instrumentalists mostly. When you play "I Can't Give You Anything But Love" at a retirement home, everybody sings along. When it comes to Bluesette, that's not likely to happen. Still, it's a fine composition, and can probably stand another hundred years of permutations.
Hi, Will. I say a few things about the instrument in the profile section of our channel. Let me know if you think anything else would be useful.
What can I say, other than that this thing is lots of fun to play? Outside of the inventor, Michele Ramo, there are no models to emulate, so it's "make it up as you go along", which is exactly what I like.
Thank you so much for this video. I love this music.
Another artist I love is an old friend of mine, Joao Gilberto, singing "O pato"

Hi Alan, Big fan here...
I was hoping that you might do a short video where you could tell me more about the instrument that you are playing.

Thank you, David. I love getting responses even before I put out my all-points alert. Truly makes my day.
