  • sing more please

  • at your first word i love your voice- that's the first second

  • Loved your version of "I Didn't Know Made Honky Tonk Angels", and your add-in. Just wanted to keep on listening. Thanks, Gwen

  • Thank You Gwen! This is a favorite of mine, I loved it when I heard Kitty Wells sing it. Glad you liked it.

    Curt

  • great pickin man that was really good

  • Thank You! I have been told I pick a little bit different than most. I like harmonics, I try to incorperate it in every song.

    Curt

  • I'm just a couple of clicks away to whether buy this guitar or a hound dog dobro, and I wanna ask you sir if you made some modifications in the guitar, changing strings, the nut, saddle, whatever; or if it sounds like this straight from factory.

Thank you and nice playing. Good Work.

  • I didn't have to make any changes, I did put a set of Martin 12's on it and it did give it a better sound. I use Martins on all my acoustic guitars, I like them best for my style of picking. I love this fender resonator, but I don't do any open tunings with it. I know a guy that bought one and put a raised nut on it so he could play slide in open G, it sounded great. Since it is a round neck you are limited to just a few open chords, it just won't take the pressure.

    I hope this helps.

    Curt

  • Forgot to mention,,, everyone has one song in us, it may clear the room or be ok...This is not a difficult to sing.. try it.. It may take a bit of work, but listening to your talking voice it would not seem to be a big reach.. Keep on making music

  • Thank's, check out some of my original tunes. I'm going through a cold streak at this time, kind of like the weather outside, below O and we have over a foot of snow on the ground. I hope it is warmer where you are.

    Keep that great music coming.

    Curt

  • Hey Curt, keep on making music, it's what its all about.. And you did a great job... Just think what you might do if you had a little of music theory.. Take it from a 68 year old.. you are never too old to learn a bit of theory.. And in fact those youngies college kids actually like us older types.. Maybe we remind them of their parents..

  • I like your theory. I have tried singing and it just aint my bag. I love to pick on the old guitar though. I have only been picking for six years and I am living proof that you never get to old. Some times it is challenging, but I enjoy making music that sounds good to me.

    I'm glad you liked this.

    Thank You!

    Curt

  • Hi Curt, Sorry ,i really got this one wrong, Paul Kingsbury did not write this song, And really your playing a tune , which was used by many other artists who use this tune to add their own lyrics to.

Am going to subscribe to you, it's good to listen to you play , Jim

  • I really enjoy music. I don't read music, when I hear a song, I usually pick out the bass line and then pick it out till it sounds good to me. I know I don't pick the notes exactly like it is suppose to sound.

Good talking to you, I'll visit your channel later. I have a party to go to tonight.

    Thank's a lot!

    Curt

  • Not quiet true fella , Paul Kingsbury wrote this song, and it was called "The Wild Side of Life", Made famous by Hank Thompson, lots of versions as you say, but . I did nt know God made Honky Tonk Angels, was a line in the song.

Kitty Wells did a female version with a similar tune and that was called, "It was nt God who made Honky Tonk Angels,

  • It's called the "The Wild Side of Life". An that was good.

  • There was several spin offs from this song and Wild Side Of Life was one of them. It is like Wildwood Flower, it has been done many different ways. I like my version, it is more to like original.

Thank you for your comments and I'm glad you like my version.

    Curt

  • I only know is if you tupe I didn't know god made honky tonk angels into the search bar, this version will come up with this title. You are most likely right, I'm usually wrong, so this don't hurt my feelings. My wife tells me I'm always wrong. Ha Ha

    Thank's!

    Curt

  • A pure, sweet, and simply wonderful rendition of a timeless classic. Thanks for posting, Curt. ***** Paul

  • I love the tone on that guitar and your impeccable sense of taste and rhythm. It reminds me of the essence Buddy Holly heard when he came up with the classics everything I know comes from.

Great stuff Curt - A real pleasure to know you and be able to enjoy these tunes. It expands what I would normally have listened to.

    Dave

  • It is my pleasure. I listen and like just about every kind of music. I love bluegrass, country, folk and old rock & roll the most. I think you guys rock. I really like your band. I love listening to you.

Thank you very much for you great comments.

    Curt

  • This is perfect. It's a really great tune, as everybody knows: you've captured the feel of the (unheard) lyrics. The resonator is just right for this.*****

    Kappa

  • I remember Kitty Wells singing this when I was a kid. I'm amazed, she is still living.

She reminded me of the girl next door.

She had a lot of great songs. I love the older Country tunes.

I was telling someone, I should pick an old rock tune and turn it into a Country Bluegrass tune. I'm sure I can do it. I'll have to work on that.

I love you music too, keep it coming!

Thanks for being a great friend!

    Thank You So Much!

    Curt

  • that was great curt.

thats one of my favorite songs.

    Curt

  • Totally outstanding Buster...Loved the simple pure sound.. (5*) Sherry

  • I'm a simple man. No glory, no fame, that is me. I think someone wrote a song about me, a simple man. I like being simple and just plain average. God has been very good to me, he gave me music.

    Thank's for your great comments!

    Curt

  • Hey Buster..I don't think you are average or simple if you can play like you do.. You do your guitar proud !!! Sherry *****

  • My guitar does me proud. My Lord does too. I feel he gave me this great gift to share. He also gave me some of the most amazing friends. You inspire me!

    Thank you for this.

    Debby

  • Thank you very much Debby! I appreciate your most gracious comments!

    Curt

  • Curt, that is really beautiful the way you play that. Beautiful touch. It's bright and sunny and there's been an F 22 doing amazing acrobatics out side here just over the trees...

I hope you all have a great weekend.

  • Plane are great to watch, it frightens me just a little, with all the plane crashes.

I'm glad you like my music. I find the songs that come to me quickest usually turn out the best.

    Thank You Very Much!

    Curt

  • I know what you mean about those tunes that come quickly turning out the best... I like that. I wish it happened more often. :-)

  • You and me both. I've had songs that I worked on for weeks and I still wasn't totally happy with them.

  • Believe me when I say these guys are just over the trees.... like maybe 1/4 to 1/2 mile away... When they fly over our house, I would swear that they are 1000-1500 max.. I can see the cock pit plainly! It stops my fiddling dead in its tracks sometimes! I'm glad they are there, though.

  • It would be hard to record when they are flying over. I know fro the ones that we use to have here. I still get the big helicopters, with the bang bang bang of the blades

  • Yeah, they do interfere with things like that at times, lol....

  • Great Job Curt.

  • Thank you very much! I hope I don't run out of ideas. The Lord has been mighty good to this guy. I give the rest of my thanks to all my friends!

    Curt
