  • A glorious riff...great playing man...

  • @Hydrefyricon Thanks. I agree, great riff.

  • Very cool, great tune. I always wondered where that 2nd chord was, thanks. You are good!

  • @wurlytone Appreciate it. Kudos to your playing as well!

  • Thanks! Now I can show my friend. He's pretty close, but you got it right. Love that song.

  • @12groney Glad you liked it.

  • Thats it. Thanks so much!

  • @gage816 You're quite welcome!

  • Thanks! I've played the first two chords for years, but could never figure it out after that.

  • @chackers Glad it helped. I'm sure it's not exactly right, but it sounds close.

  • PS, you have the best quality/price guitar in the world I had a Music shop for 17 years and have never seen a better guitar than the Studio for the price... ebony neck, best pick-ups, good tune pegs you can put up with not having a binding around the body.

  • They are very good guitars. I bought this one used and had some burstbuckers put in. It's a blast to play.

  • Many Thanks for the reply, keep on giving the good info and Happy New Year, PS I bought Rod Argent's 100 watt Laney amp head in 1970, second hand with Serial n° 156 (or similar) had it for 30 years and played many gigs with it. It had been modified to take the organ foot pedal plug straight in !

  • Very cool, why did you get rid of it?

  • I wed a French girl in 77, moved to France where the giging is very different. I opened my Guitar Builder/repair shop, apart from the inaugural concert never did another "big" gig. The Laney top severed as a demo amp, while I was building a studio (8 track). I got involved with programing and noticed that I was writing less, having moved on to a Quadraverb GT multieffect/amp simulator plugged straight into the mixer, I didn't need the Laney. I'd bought it £25 and sold it for 5000FF. Keep well

  • not sure about that Fsus on 4th fret, 2nd riff... i thinf straight forward F [ D triad slid up 3 frets] sounds better. nice post though, great song.

  • Thanks, not sure about it either.

  • @LPSWBB // Nor am I now!! It's a tough call.

  • If you watch video of it, Ballard plays a straight F on the first fret. btw, saw Argent live in 73 and they were an amazing live act :)

  • @StillGotMyElf

It is odd though how some riffs do not 'fit' and never quite sound the same when you play them yourself. For me , this is one of them! Cheers mucker.

  • @LPSWBB at about 1 minute in here watch?v=o-6v4H4BtWI&feature=related ...you can see he hits a first fret F (prolly with c in the bass) and eventually an open e-major before heading back into the verse.

  • @jamo387 I just checked it out and you're right. Thanks for pointing that out.

  • this helped alot, thanks

  • Cool, glad it helped.

  • Spot on . and no bullshit comentary . just the stuff you need . Thanks

  • Appreciate it.

  • Well done. Lots of people have posted different ways to play this but yours sounds the best and makes the most sense. In a live performance setting yours would work well and when playing live being able to reproduce what people hear on the radio is important, it is what they are use to and expect.. Good job :)

  • Thanks, and it's easy to play too.

  • I was close, but you are CLOSER! Thanks for the extra clues!

  • Thanks, not sure if it's right but it sounds pretty close.

  • Thank you thank you thank you!

  • You're welcome, glad it helped.

  • that looks like a studio I have the same one. Problem is mine don't quite sound like that

  • Thanks man!

  • Saaaaweeeeet! Thanks! NICE!
