  • R.I.P. Mr. Milano you were one of the bests. There's nothing like the good ol' days. I was born in the wrong generation, may the angels in heaven be dancing with your energetic music.

  • So was this done immediately after Dion left the group?

  • I just realised Dion wasn't included in this song. Silly me.

  • Excellent, thanks a million for posting it!!! Has anyone of you the lyrics of this beautiful doo wop song, by any chance? When I look for it, appears another song titled "Tell me why", but it isn't the same... :(... Thanks, anyway!

  • @JohnyAngelo - LOL!

  • @JohnyAngelo Whats her name?

  • This is sooo good! The Belmonts are just as good without Dion, and Dion is my favorite singer from the era.

  • Another gem by Dion and the Belmonts

  • 2 people dont know why...

  • I would just like to say, that people forget that during this period in America nothing was integrated.... So it was not exactly the greatest period in American history or the world for that matter, but I do still like the music. Just some food for thought....

  • Tell me whyyyyy...is it that i have to type "Tell me why" The Belmonts to find this song..i should just be able to type "Tell me.." and it should be in the recommendations.

  • Great song and great video !

  • @dXAriseXb haha yes that would be a problem, but isnt it a problem now with that fkin skinheads en rednecks?

  • @ernstie12 No, the big problems now are with black and mexican gangbangers. I don't see whites forming gangs nowadays like them.

  • 2 dorks!

  • Lol I know!!! Read post 9 days ago !! I commented on the wrong song !! But this Carlo fella has a lovely voice too !! I prefer DION tho!!:)

  • @bobbydelrive I know lol :) I was meant to comment on I wonder why By DION and the belmonts.. Couldnt delete when I realised but I do like this too !!:))

  • Thank YouTube for the rediscovery of classics like this...

  • God I love this song and Dion's voice is soo sexy!! Definitely one of my faves :))

  • @Baibrook9907 Dion doesn't sing on this record.

  • @Baibrook9907 That aint Dions voice. It's Carlo Mastrangelo.

  • if only music was still like this

  • Another great song by these guys!!!!!

  • Sorry more like .58 or .59! when i paused it , it still was on .57:)

  • Crazy! it looks like a hand in the bottom left hand corner at 00.57!

  • My bands name is Belmont. (: Think that would be a problem...?

I like this band, though. (:

  • This must be the band KISS got their influence from.

  • RIP Liz Taylor...she actaully hated to be called Liz lol

  • This music is amazing! It must have been even better when it first came on the radio! I was born in 1992, but wish I was born in 1942!

  • @toasteroven427 agreed!!!

  • *sigh*.... I wish everyone could bop do wop at school dances like it's normal, but not anymore!

  • I see a number of posts here from people born in the ninties, and the wish to be from the fifties. and it was a wonderful time no doubt. I sure have great memories of it. it was about the time you were being born or culture really started coming under attack. it came at us from all sides.race, sexes, political correctness, street gangs, gay activism...more.minority intrests were elevated over majority intrests. minority intrests should be heard but not by negating the majority.happened in music too

  • I am a teenager and i love this . (:

  • @joltinjack in what year have you born?

    im born in 1995.

    i wish i was born around 1940

  • @ernstie12 - 1959

  • @ernstie12 amen man i was born 1997 i no my name is very misleading

  • @ernstie12

I was born in 1989 and I love this song and all music from this brilliant era.

Music earlier than this as well. Billie Holiday, Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman especially.

  • @ernstie12 I agree I was born in 95 too

  • @ernstie12 1994

  • @ernstie12 Have fun during WW2 and segregation.

  • @ernstie12 i was born in 1995 too, i'd love to be born in the 40s, but im black.. and racism would have been a problem xD

  • @dXAriseXb i was born in 1995 i wish i was born in the forties. but i guess everything happens for a reason

  • @ernstie12 my Mother was born in 1948 and I was born in 1989. Do the math. Lol

  • music just aint the same

  • Did everyone see how Elizabeth Taylor looked in 1961???

More trivia: The speedometer in all cars max indication

    was 120mph. Believe or not.

  • Well, call me if you have build a time travel machine! The 50's seems to been the best decade ever! And I'm born in the 90's...

  • @laggar28 I'm born in 90's too and I totally agree with you.

  • i wish i could have been a kid in the 50s so i could have experienced dion and the belmonts, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, the big bopper, the del vikings, the chordets and all the other great singers from the 50s. that would be alot better than being a 7 grader now.

  • @ottodasgrunt It was a great decade. I remember Elvis' debut on the Ed Sullivan Show. Gas was 19.9 CENTS per gallon in 1957. We listened to WKBW in Buffalo for rock 'n roll radio even though we live closer to Rochester. Ricky Nelson, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Brenda Lee, Connie Francis. I had a crush on Janet Lennon of the Lennon Sisters. She was soooo cute! FORD vs. Chevy. The Blue Oval Forever! Growing up in the '50s is something I'm forever grateful for.

  • born 1961 love this music not like the crap of today

  • Dion is not on this song. Dion left the Belmonts in 1960. This is Carlo Mastrangelo on lead.

  • im only 14 and i love this type of music just because of this song

  • awww, he dedicated this song to me! <3 (:

  • Very Great song! I'm glad to listen this song, greetings from Perú!

  • Nothing wrong with this but Norman Fox & The Rob Roys' version rips this to shreds!

  • I love the melody but the lyrics seem a bit uninspired compared to other love songs like Sh-boom for example. It's still good though.

  • Great cover by the Belmonts

  • Doo wop rules, please give us again and again

  • These songs are the best! Thank you to all who load these songs to share. Gameonline13 thats great that you like these songs! My son who is twelve likes these songs as well. Its sad that great music is lost to so many youth.

  • Dion is not singing in this song. but Check out the PRE CBS Fender Guitars.

    Priceless

  • @TL250Rider This was the 45 releaced back then with Dion singing the lead here with the belmonts & it has been verified by WCBS101.1FM NYC station that this was Dion singing with the original belmonts.

  • @MyREDTAIL Sorry to say but Dion is not singing lead & is not singing with the Belmonts

  • I know that. Just chill and enjoy the music.

  • While Dion's cover is good ,listen to Rob and the Robroys original version,DZ from the Bean

  • Sooo right, original version by Norman Fox and the Rob-Roys is waaay better....

  • I agree. At the time, I knew this version would slip by copyright. I did like the original by the Rob Roys better.

  • First release by the Belmonts without Dion in 1961 on Sabrina. Dion remained with Laurie at this point, and released his first recording without the Belmonts Lonely Teenager.

  • good ass fucking song

  • LOOOOOOOOOve them!

  • i don't think the Belmonts with or without dion ever made a bad songthe proof is in the listening.i will post some good BELMONTS SONGS .

  • i agree man i love this shit and im 20, todays music aint the same

  • Hell, I'm 13 dude!

  • I love listening music from the 50's,60's and 80's... Todays music are eh ok.... Anyways this is my fav. song. and yup im 15 years old :]]

  • WOW THE BELMONTS singing, amazing

    XD

  • whats dion doing in these pictures. he was not the lead singer then.he joined later

  • He was apart of the group from their beginning (late 50's). His heroin habit forced him out of the band by '61. I just threw his picture in for the hell of it.

  • Neither you nor 4567reggie know what you are talking about. They were together from the late 50's&.His heroin habit(which he did have) was not what forced them to break up.

  • O.K., bobdimucci, I concede that "officially" his heroin habit did not not force him out of the group. Unsuccessful hits, and squabbles with his band mates led to his wanting to go solo. Drug habits don't get better...they get worse. He had been an addict since he was around 15 or 16-years-old. He was not very stable & productive after his hospitalization for his habit, which was either in '60 or '61.

  • im trying to make an improvisation for this song on my piano... its tough =]

  • love this song

  • Do The Belmonts kill vampires?

  • lmao

  • im only 14. and they should keep doo wop in style forever. they should take away all the rubbish noise the kids are listening to nowadays and fill them with happy and awesome things. not disgust and hatred.

  • Same here

  • yeah doo wop is great. I hate today's hip hop music. I wish music sounded like doo wop today

  • im 13 and i AGREE 100% i think this kind of music is AMAZING

  • same here... same age.. same opinion

  • Yeah exactly like rap and hip hop would be a good start to get rid of because that is a good example of rubbish.

  • ahhhh, that great Belmonts sound.

    thanks,

    kj

  • Great song (without Dion) and pics that hit-home!!!Thx so much.

  • Carlo never sounded better, before or after...

  • It's amazing how the kids today don't appreciate the good old songs like this.

  • I'm 17 and I absolutly love these Doo Wop oldies. My grandfather actually played in a band called The Blendells and since I heard them I've loved the Genre.

  • im 16 and i like this song

  • Lol I do. But I live in an area which is dominated by hip-hop =/

  • Great song! Thanks for your upload!

  • Is that Elizabeth Taylor at 0:41?

  • Danny and the juniors sighting at 2:21. checkout their "rock and roll is here to stay"

  • How my brothers & I loved harmonizing to this song on the streets of the lower east side of Manhattan NYC -- what great times!

  • this is ture rock,n roll i wish they could bring this kind of music back

  • @jedsmith835 It's not rock n roll, it's doo wop

  • @jedsmith835 THANK YOU im 14 years old and i fucking love this era's lifestyle it was happy and i would love to live back in the 50's!

  • I don't think Dion is in this recording.

  • even that dion not singing I love this song anyway, great movie! take us bake to the fifties ore early sixtes, the cars was better looking than too!

  • Is this wonderful the photograph of Dion with a Pre CBS Fender Stratocaster.

    PRICELESS

  • If I remeber Right Dion is not in this recoring.

Still a great recording of a Rob Roy's Classic

  • You're right. If I'm not mistaken, Dion was a part of the group in the late 50's, but later on, had developed a bad heroin habit, and was not a part of the group in '61.

I just put him in there anyway.

  • Yes from 1957 - 1960 it was "Dion and the Belmonts", in 1961 "Dion DiMucci" & the "Bemonts" started recording separately. I do not know if today they sing together, or does Dion DiMucci sing only solo.

  • What a wonderful Song Why can't there be a radio station in L.A. That would play this music.

    DISCO IS NOT OLDIES.

  • Tell me why was I born in the 80's !
