Wow, I NEVER like lock hair but when taken care of it looks so nice, she looks so happy very pretty, I will try this look on my hair (relaxed) to get these curls. Thanks.
I love your styling techniques; I would like to order products as well as visit your shop the next time I am in Brooklyn. Where are you located? / Please provide contact information. Also, the models appear to have stunning hair-colors; can you recommend a color-safe product for natural locks; especially if interested in bleaching?
Wow! I am considering locking my hair as well, and this video is really making me lean towards doing it. You did a great job and your model is really beautiful.
Beautiful result!!! I am not a fan of using a lot of product on my locs because my loctician who originally mapped my locs nearly ruined mine by using a product which is to this day, embedded in my locs. But your client's hair is gorgeous!!! Great job
This was absolutely AMAZING. I plan on coming to Brooklyn to the shop to come get my extensions done alllll the way from Toronto and I know it's going to be WELL worth it. I'm soooo excited! Whoot whoot! Great video! You're so talented! God bless you! (thanks for showing the proper technique to touch up and twist the roots, my friend has a lot of problems with frizz because he's partially indian so his hair is soft, I'm sure this will help!)
I think that you articulated yourself well. It is not easy to stand in front of a camera and know that you are talking to potentially thousands of people. :o) Great video. I am watching inspirational videos so I can stop being lazy and re-latch my hair lmbo
i love your hair on the video how did you achieve your look....and I wanted to tell you that you did a wonderful job on the model hair...by the way did you put her under the hair dryer or let it set naturally.
Excellent Video !!! The model was great, and the "teacher" was amazing ! Her voice was great, the examples were great, and I loved how she spoke about their products while demonstrating!!
This is a great vid! I've been looking for a way to style my locs, and mine are the same length as your models. I'm going to try that style tomorrow! Thanks for sharing!
These ladies have beautiful, beautiful locs. Made me want to get some. ;D 4 real! I stopped the tut at 2:26 bacause I couldn't help but notice that Angie's scalp looked so irritated! I saw raised, papules and pustules on a red surface and very sparse growth around the edges. I have a friend with a similar-looking scalp. My fried refuses to shampoo frequently because she's afraid of 'washing away OILS'. But she's a personal trainer!!! She scratches her head a lot. =0
i just finished doing that style it came out great. i used the same gray rollers but i didnt use the products :( but nevertheless it came out the way i wanted it to. my hair shoulder length so it came out cute!. i also did the crinkles and it came out beautiful. thanx for the videos. come out with more pleez
I"m so excited. I"m getting braids tomorrow. I'm preparing my hair for locks. This is beautiful and your an excellent demonstrator. There was no yelling, or loud speaking. After I take out my braids I'm locking it up so By the end of this year, I will be in to your salon.
How long will the retwist last? When I do it myself it only last a few days if I work out only a couple of days. And how long should one wait to be loc'd to do this style?
your video's are very helpful to me because i am a newly certified loctician looking for ways to achieve healthly locks for my new clients along with new style options.
how long did it take for you to actually put all the rods in her hair? you said in the video to be careful of how you take the rods out. is their a proper way to take them out? the hair is gorgeous by the way.
very nice! I haven't had my locs curled all over (tried once with big rollers and it didn't last). But hopefully, I can get someone to do it for me because my hair is a little longer.
Hi, Kim! I have been natural for 1 year on May 10th and I want to loc my hair. My hair is 5 to 6 inches long. However, I will be a bridesmaid in a wedding coming up on June 5th and I want my hair to look gorgeous, but Im not sure if I should start my locs like now or wait to after the wedding and just wear a twistout fro or some other style to the wedding? As a professional what would you suggest for me to do? Thank you so much in advance!
I noticed your updo and love it on this vid...do you or are you going to do any tutorials on updos? Or can you make some suggestions for updos? My hair is about the same length as the model in this vid. Any info. would be helpful. Thanx
Hi depending on the type of hair you have it can take up to a year or more . Hang in there ! I have had my loc's for 13 years trust me just keep the faith :) you can you use aloe vera or lemon juice after you wash your hair to make the process go faster. Stay blessed
it depends on ur hairs texture!! i have very straight hair.. so i had to start coloring my hair and basically use harsh chemicals on it to speed up the process because it gave my hair more of a rough texture. now after 3 1/2 years my hair is locked but their are still some areas that just stay straight and won't lock!
Great job. I was excited about the product until I seen the cost for delivery (it's more than the product) and I only live 2 hrs away. Do you guys sell the product at the salon/ or store. If so when I go to brooklyn I could stop buy and purchase it that way.
We do sell the products at the salon you can call first so we can set it aside for you. They go fast in the salon. Go to our website for more information.
hi Kim. I have had my hair in locs for two months. My hair hasn't locked yet but I want to color it. Is that okay or would it mess up my locs that are not mature yet?
If your hair is naturally locing without extension, then the color may help some in the process. Once your not doing a real light color like blonde. Lighter colors like blonde tend to soften the hair and makes it straighter. If you have loc extension don't even look at the color box for atleast 4-6 months.
The style when finished was great. There are some things I'd have to modify (for me). 1) would use the locking pomade sparingly & on occasion: although no petrolatum or mineral oil, it could still imbed. 2) I don't have a prob with frizzies or think my hair (natural texture and curl pattern) should shine like new money, so I'd go lite. 3) Would not retwist as much: it has a tendency to weaken & thin the rootbed. Other than that, looks wonderful. May try, but my philosopy is less is better.
@roxtardollbaby Obviously this vid is no.1 showcasing the product and 2. the style. Ordinarily most people with locs and sense would not use this amount of product everyday. Occasionally though it might be needed for a one off. I often (2-3 months) do this style with pipecleaners and you have to use product' to acheive long lasting curl and sheen but yes less is better. Great vid btw ...
I would like to try ur loc products, I just want 2 b sure the pomade has enough hold as my locs are fairly new 2-3 months, and am yet to find a product that has no wax or petroleum and has the hold I need to keep my locs neat., for work purposes.
re: Nervous comment.. I say no.. you were very confident and exteremly well paced ..so demonstration showed everything we needed to see.. I love it.. I been wanting to know how to do this, and I have medium length locs.. after this.. I am going to buy rollers and do it with a friend at home..THANKYOU VERY MUCH!!!! p.s all the way from London.
o my! that was beautiful .maybe one day i'll be as good as you, at least now i know a little bit on how to do what you taught 2 day .thanks.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I was a little nervous, but I was not reading at all I was remembering off the top of my head. I've been doing this for over 16 years, so I have a pretty good understanding of what I'm doing. I will try to be more comfortable in front the camera next time.
The finished look was stunning!! I really love it, i currently use sponge rollers but i will deffinatley be getting some perm rods after this. I think i will get medium or small. My locs are thicker and shorter than your models but hopefully i can achieve a similar look. Do i have to use one loc per roller? Also how long can a set like this last? My sponge sets dont last a week only braidouts but I would love spirals. Thanks for sharing, I'm new to this game and still learning...
For best results use one rod per loc. Unless you have super tiny locs then you can put 2-3 on the rod. This set usually last until your next wash. Keeping in mind it will drop as the days go on. Thanks for the wonderful comments we will be sharing more videos in the near future.
Beautiful job! How did you get the curls to say did you leave them in for a few hours or put some heat on it? I'm confused if anyone can answer I'd appreciate it.
Once I let go of the roller, some tension is released. I like the roots to be twisted as close as possible to the roots. It's not like super tight braids. I've done my own and slept with the rollers it's not tight at all. Only some tension when it's being done. If you look at her face she is not in pain at all. Thanks for your caring
Thank you for making your videos! The model`s hair is so beautiful! I do not palmroll, but cream looks like a great moisturizer! Please keep the vids coming!
i know! our hair is sooo beautiful and versitile right? our celebs shouldnt HAVE to use weave to achieve hair that moves and swings and looks long. they could lock!
I haven't even finished watching the entire video and I already know that I love it..I am faving this and subbing. Great camera lighting and good instructions, plus I've been looking for a good spiral curl...Thanks..
I love your hair in this video; and the models hair looks amazing as well!! My curls never come out this good, so I need to take some notes. I am going to try your products soon!
WOW! Absolutely gorgeous! What I love most is you can still see her natural texture... the natural coil in her hair. Many other products such as gels and pomades seem to straighten out the root once dry or heated but after a few days the hair looks completely different. Her hair looks wonderfully groomed and neat but still very natural and coiled.
Thank you !

WOW! Watching this video makes me wish more of our black celebrities were natural. You're both beautiful. 5 stars. :)

i know! our hair is sooo beautiful and versitile right? our celebs shouldnt HAVE to use weave to achieve hair that moves and swings and looks long. they could lock!

how does she sleep in them? what kind of hair cover should she use?

You sleep the best way you can, and you can use a regular scarf to cover your head.
