Nu metal were mostly hard rock bands with rap vocals/drop tuned guitars. In saying that, apparently you know nothing. Slipknot, definitely metal. System and Korn, not so much.

Numetal can't be metal even if have metal in his name, metal influences or sounding (it's fusion genre by the way, so how can be metal subgenre? and if slipknot have rap influences, why you don't call this rap?), for example Corejazz combined music with Jazz Fusion and of course by definition it's not jazz even if have jazz in name, because it's evolved from Hardcore. Slipknot is the same genre as korn and Soad - NOT metal.
@radzio777 Again, Slipknot only had about 3 rap songs on ONLY the first album (sic, Eyeless, Spit It Out), all of which still contained a metal structure to each song and were only labeled as nu metal, which was only a label, not genre, because they became vastly popular. Many bands were mislabeled in that sense, Evanescence, Limp Bizkit, etc, but only a few actually were metal, for example, Evanescence is clearly alternative and Slipknot, in all actuality, is groove metal.

And deathcore is a different story, but all the same, is essentially death metal if pulled together right. Bands like The Black Dahlia Murder or Carnifex are still DM, but not Emmure

Nu metal were mostly hard rock bands with rap vocals/drop tuned guitars. In saying that, apparently you know nothing. Slipknot, definitely metal. System and Korn, not so much.

Numetal can't be metal even if have metal in his name, metal influences or sounding (it's fusion genre by the way, so how can be metal subgenre? and if slipknot have rap influences, why you don't call this rap?), for example Corejazz combined music with Jazz Fusion and of course by definition it's not jazz even if have jazz in name, because it's evolved from Hardcore. Slipknot is the same genre as korn and Soad - NOT metal.

@radzio777 Again, Slipknot only had about 3 rap songs on ONLY the first album (sic, Eyeless, Spit It Out), all of which still contained a metal structure to each song and were only labeled as nu metal, which was only a label, not genre, because they became vastly popular. Many bands were mislabeled in that sense, Evanescence, Limp Bizkit, etc, but only a few actually were metal, for example, Evanescence is clearly alternative and Slipknot, in all actuality, is groove metal.

Even if have metal influences or elements can't be metal...because the origin of Numetal is Hardcore. There are more exaplmes: Origin of Thrash is Speed Metal, and can't be Hardcore only because some early pioneer bands combined music with Hardcore. Crabcore have electro music influences but obviously it's not electro, same with slipknot influenced by many metal subgenres. That's all

@radzio777 Again, learn something. MFKR was NOT an album, simply a demo with their old vocalist, Andy. The album barely surpassed a half hour, which ISN'T a full length album. Try listening to their first ACTUAL album, their self-titled debut. Definitely metal. Or even their sophmore album, Iowa, even MORE metal. And deathcore is a different story, but all the same, is essentially death metal if pulled together right. Bands like The Black Dahlia Murder or Carnifex are still DM, but not Emmure

Take lesson in music structures: For example if Korn music, numetal icon, have not only metal structures, but grunge riffs, alternative and industrial influences, why you don't call them Grunge?
