In this song she asks "tell me how to stop the tears"..... Frankly, whenever I think of Ofra Haza - and this is daily - I realize there's no way to stop the tears. Her death remains a terrible pain. Ofra Haza was SO great. She had the greatest voice I ever heard, she sang with such sincerity and such a contagious charm. And she also had great talents as a lyricist and composer. Her loss is unbearable.
A giant mourning another giant. greatness mourning greatness and an angel mourning an angel. I would have asked the question Ofra, I would have asked god why would Yitzhak or you leave so soon. except I know the answer, I know you both never left in soul, I know you are our guiding stars in the dark sea... I love you Ofra, I love you Yitzhak.. and I promise you both to always live for peace to see your dreams coming true.. to see real neighbors greeting each other and all the pain away forever
A voz da Ofra é uma das belas que já ouvi, principamente nesta canção, é perceptível que ela canta com a alma, é indescritível, simplesmente linda. Sempre me emociono quando ouço esta canção.
Ofra Haza is very beautiful woman, with brilliant voice. SHALOM FROM POLAND TO JEWISH BROTHERS. This nation is in my heart, because Jesus Christ is my Lord. My family was helping Jews during Second World War, when German soldiers of Adolf Hitler wanted to KILL Jews, and helping them Polish People. Cousin of mu grand mother hide Jew man in her house. After war they was married :) PRAY FOR ISRAEL!
I can honestly say that I am missing her presence her on earth very much. I ask God for the strength to endure this time without her..I also ask God to tell her that she is loved and missed and that she meant alot to many of us ... take care Ofra and well see you on the other side. Shalome......
A gorgeous lady singing for a great man.. and the common thing here is that the world miss both of them the most.
the world is indeed in need for men like Rabin and ladies like Ofra to reach a safe shore.
Never forgot you Yitzhak, Never forgot you Ofra.
Rest in peace, both of you, and won't say goodbye at all, will just say see you both in another life and in another place where everyone can live in peace and only those with pure hearts like you both can reach.
for your question HAZAFAN88 The man in the stream is YITZHAK RABIN he was the prime mimister of Israel. He won the nobel peace prize in 1994.......he was assasinated in 1995 by a right wing Israeli radical for signing the oslo accord he was well loved by his people
All I can say is, WOW! I have never heard this song until now. Its so beautiful! And who is the man for whom this memorial service was held? How did he die? I love Ofra's music and I hope to find this and download it soon. This is a great song!
This song was sung as part of a memorial service for Yitzhak Rabin, an Israeli politician who was assasinated in November 1995. This version of "Leorach Hayam" can be found on volume 1 of the Bemengenat Halev box set.
The first time I listened to this i started to cry. I miss her presence here among us yet I am so very happy for her that she is in a place so very close to God...See you on the other side Ofra......:)
She is the best singer in the world and was blessed with the most clear, beautiful and lucid voice, which had only been getting better everytime up until her tragic and untimely death.
If you had not realised that this was a desperately sad occasion, Ofra's expression leaves you in no doubt. Then you hear the sadness in her rendition of this song. Never was there a more expressive and sincere singer than Ofra Haza.
even your words makes me cry. Ofra Haza was amazing. She is no human. She was an angel...a pure, innocent, sweet, adorable, perfect angel, who had to leave our world tragically early because there is just so long that a pure angel can exist in our corrupt world
I remember that day, a school near my house is named Rabin in his honor I love this song its very close to my life'story and with this song I feld in love about this lovevly Angel who fly to heaven
I couldn't stop the tears when Rabin was killed, i can't stop crying when i hear her sing this song for him, she was and still is the greatest voice Israel everhad.

here you go: Part 1:

ramsesthethird2 2 years ago
part 3:

The extraordinary beauty of her voice moves me to tears.
What are the few lines ("Elohai ... kol haneshama ...") she sings before the beginning of the song ("tagid li ...")? What do they mean?
Are they from a prayer? Are they a reference to Rabin, as this video is of his memorial?
JLMusicLover 3 years ago 2
I had the same reaction that you did to her music...it is so beautiful, so moving, that it brings to tears any of us who still have a heart.
As for your question, I know that she is quoting Jewish prayers, perhaps even one of the psalms, although I do not know which specific one. Sorry
nakedBison69 3 years ago
The beginning :
My God
All the souls that you gave me..
My God.
This words are the beginning of her song "kol haneshama".
after that she sings the song "Leorech Hayam" (Along The Sea).
lolm10 3 years ago 2
the translation of the song :
Tell me how to stop this tears.
Tell me where is another world to live.
Tell me why there is no truth only hallucinations.
So why keep trying to cry now?
along the sea
There is no waves, there's a world
Which broked into pieces on the pier.
lolm10 3 years ago 4
Tell me how to stop this tears/
Tell me where is another world to live.
When people run into the inferno like to the sea.
I will run into the fire if they'll come back from there.
Tell me how do you live with the death.
Hidding the tears every night, tell me how much.
The fire which call's me is not really there.
And that who disappeared, does he'll come back or he's dead ?

I heave listened to her hymn on different occasions but here her devotement is extraordinary
