  • The first time I heard this tune ten or so years ago, I was not so sure. I picked up a copy of this CD 3 years ago. I have come to love it. Paul Kelly can write a song from the perspective of a woman better than most men write from their own perspective, Granted, its taken from a Raymond Carver short story. Still brilliant.

  • There are 2 people out there I feel sorry for...

  • The exact same storyline appears in Robert Altman's "Short Cuts." The characters played by Fred Ward, Buck Henry and Huey Lewis go on the fishing trip, and Anne Archer's character is sickened by her husband's treatment of the murdered girl's body and later goes to the her funeral. This song came out in 1989, the movie in 1993, so Altman must've heard this.

  • thanks for posting this song ,,,,,,,,,
