WHY would anyone think this song is an Irish song? In Dublin, of course, they think Blaw Clee is the capital of Europe if not the world. But it's only the uneducated LOWER CLASSES who think this way.

No, not from Ireland. It is a Stephen Foster (US) song written in the 1850's and popular in the US Civil War. They do a good job, tho.
