We got 5 Yellowtail Blue Damsels at the same time. I made sure to release them into our tank at the same time. Over time as they started getting larger. I identified one as a female (she was smaller), the other 4 Males. The Males have rotated ganging up on the other males. Now we have lost 2 males to this pattern. If there was one single aggressor we would of simply removed them from the tank to stop this from happening. Now down to the 2 Males and 1 Female. And finally, eggs have appeared ;)
can someone help me out, i have a question i want to get one these fish but im afraid to get one thinking that it will bother or even kill one of my fish that i have in my tank so would you guys recomend one of these little guys???
When I first got my yellow tail damsel, It hid under the rock, after a few days he darted in and out of his cave, and now he just swims around without the protection of the rock. I think the brine shrimp is a good positive inforcement, he loves the stuff.
these are referred to as PRICK FISH sometimes. they can be really agressive. i started with 4. and then 3 of them form'd a pack and tore the other one apart. on the upside, 2 have paired off and for the last 3 months, i find about a thousand freshly hatched fry every week to ten days. but the babies never live longer than over night.
@BAFC14 my yelllow tale damsel did that too, hes just scarwed, mainly of u , if u stay and look in it after u feed him and watch him eat hell get used to seeing u, my damsel always stayed in rock and as snickoys said, comes out when i leave, but if u watch my vid of him now hell swim about freely without even thinking of me there
