@37mafia1 The G4 PowerBook's fastest CPU chip was in the very last version from 2005- early 2006 with a 1.67GHz G4. Netflex on a PowerPC based Mac is gonna run so damn slow thanks to the horrible performance of the PowerPC version of Adobe Flash. Same goes with YouTube and any other app or site that depends on Flash. My advice is to go with a 1st gen. MacBook Pro. Because the MBP is Intel based, it can run the latest software, and Flash runs faster.

@morrolinux - I bought my 1.5 GHz PowerBook G4, however, depending on where you live, eBay and Amazon are great places to look, too. PowerBook G4's are now six years old, though, and so no, Apple does not sell them or manufacture them anymore. They were replaced by the MacBook Pro's quite a while ago. Hope this was helpful!

I also edit all my movies on iMovie 06, and they look better than some movies made on FInal Cut !

I just got one of these today. 1.67GHz G4, 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD, 15". $235. I love it, wish youtube was a bit smoother. Not terrible though. But whats caught my eye is you speakers. I have a set just like them, but did you paint them? I like it, and I think I will do it to mine.

I hope you are liking the book as much as me. I got a brand new battery so it lasts >4 hours.

I just bought a PowerBook like yours. Same 15", 1.25GHz PowerPC Processor, 1gb ram, 80gb hard drive, firewire 800, and dvi and s video. The backlit keyboard feature is awesome too!! nice videos. There aren't a lot of powerbook videos on youtube, and that's a bit disappointing. I plan to change that XD like I said, Nice video!

No you can't it isn't intel based , and to be fair , although the are pretty , I think the g3 is the biggest waste of money possible (£120 off ebay) , you cant do much with them and the can barely play youtube video's. they are only really good for looking up old friends on facebook and a bit of word processing - hold onto your money and buy an old macbook pro - they are great computers I have one myself

Nope. It is true that Snow Leopard isnt supported by PowerPC-Macs, but this is just because Apple has removed the entire PPC-code from the system. Remind that some PPC-Macs (mainly the Power Mac G5) were able to run 64 bit-software whereas the first Intel Macs (Core Duo-Processors) dont support 64 bit-software, but run Snow Leopard anyways.

Its easy to install OSX Leopard (10.5) on powerbook g4, but you must to be patient, because it tooks about 2 hours. If you have 768MB RAM or more in your machine - it will be run great. :)
