  • Such a fun and from Johonny Mathis of all people. I totally agree this song was a guaranteed floor filler! :) thanks for posting.

  • 1 person is just gone, gone, gone

  • Gone, Gone, Gone EP. Who would've thought it existed?? Niceeee...

  • Thanks for posting this rare number! and yes, lippy170, this was a 'floor filler' at the disco!

  • Great song! Classic!

  • sims club king st west and slingsbys wood st manchester 1979,sounded fantastic on the club dance floors.

  • Always love this tune at the Troc ... and Johnny's "Begin the Beguine"!

  • I remember at first I loved this song until I found out it was Johnny Mathis (I was young then)!. However, after a brief period of reflection I decided that a good song was a good song no matter who sings it, and bought it that same day. Still like it - I'd cover it on gigs if I could get a backing track.

  • this got play at the Trocadero Transfer in the 70s - Bobby Viteretti spinning

  • kool 70s

  • A nice discoey track from Johnny! I loved it in the 70's, good to see Johnny following a trend with this single.

  • Takes me back to my final year in secondary school which would have been around '79, I can remember being very sad and scared but of course I would never show it outwardly, I just put on this big front like many that I didn't care and wasn't afraid of going out there into the big wide world etc, there were loads of great songs back then and this was sure one of them, I suppose in many ways I can enjoy it much more now as a calm relaxed ....ish adult :D

  • @proff180 Thanks for writing "would have" instead of "would of"!

  • Ronny "L" use to drop this down 100 club back in the "70"s on Oxford Street ....on a saturday at lunch time.........we would go and bust some moves....come out sweating like pigs at about 3 O clock onto a busy Oxford street full of shoppers...then head down to carnaby street.........go home have a bath ...listen to greg edwards and get ready to go to the Royalty in Southgate to check out "the Family"....Chris Hill "et al" on Froggys roadshow.......!!!!....yeah....Soulboys are back...!!!

  • To me best song johnny mathis ever made

  • Fab disco version. Whatever happened to Ms Mathis !!

  • @pins1952 Ms Mathis, ha ha!

  • @sergeantfrisky They used to call him the African Queen!!

  • amazing!! so happy. Has lifted my mood from low to partyyyyyy!!

  • I have this disco single and "Begin the Beguine," and I loved it in 1979 and still do! My teenage children thought I had flipped out! Johnny and I were only 44 years old, then. Singing and dancing to music like this probably helped us make it to 74.

  • would off been so cool in the 70's to hear this in a club!

  • @lippy170 They did play it in the clubs back in the late seventies !! great number !!

  • @lippy170

It sounded good on the radio, back in '70s.

  • WOW!! Johnny singing Disco, there is no end to his talent. Thanks for this upload.
