Anyhow, in my opinion, there's something a bit depressing about watching cockroaches being submerged in a plastic container of water for 30 minutes to "see if they drown". They are literally built to withstand this and more. Killer's comment was about how people project our human physical limits, pain thresholds and morality on any and all other creatures.

So to come full circle again, you are legitimately upset about an action that really didn't have an affect on the cockroach.
