I have been hunting for a long wearing foundation for my dryish skin I am more dry than normal in the winter and normal in the summer I just purchased the clinique repairwear I apply it with my new sigma F80 and man does it give a great finish the only problem is my skin starts feeling a little dry by late afternoon have you ever tried this foundation? and what do you recommend as a good moisturizer for dry skin? great channel thanks for the reviews keep them comming!
I really enjoy this foundation as well, if you ever get a chance do try to get a sigma brush F80. They are just made for each other. They work so well together
The Senna palette looks really nice. I usually wear neutral/brown colours on my eyes, so it'd be something I'd try if it's available out here.
I haven't tried any of the Nars blushes (or anything by them, actually), but I've heard lots of people talking about Orgasm. It's so expensive here in Australia - $62! Just a bit much for me to spend at the moment, considering I'm out of work.
Hey darlin! I hope the Holiday season is bringing you a lot of joy as well! Another great video, as always..I have to say, the PR doesn't wear well for me either..and the sparkles make me look far more oily than usual. It's strange they call it PhotoReady since the foundation photographs badly, in my opinion...at least under professional, flash photography. I must try that powder you show! Looks amazing! You have exquisite taste in make up! You look amazing, as usual, Patti..love ya!
@KaeJax I've not tried that one yet either :( My town has a dearth of h/e makeup retailers... p.s. next on my NARS blush list would be Deep Throat (gotta love the names lol)
Pretty shadows Patti along with a very pretty face :) Love the color names-could make a really nice drink with some Bailey's lol So have to try the MAC tech pencil-nothing seems to really last on a water line. No one can make fun of you for being last because I don't have Nars Orgasm :( could not get anywhere to look at it and seriously afraid it was too sparkly. So you are waay ahead of me-if that is any comfort LOL ~hugs jan
@Catalina031 Thanks Jan! Orgasm is now like the gold standard, shimmery but not like "whoah!" in-your-face...if you like peachy colors it might be worth looking at. Then again Milani is supposed to have a dead-on dupe (don't know personally). if you want to try the pencil pm me. I think the Senna palette is now d/c'd ...grrr. But hey, I'm more of a brandy person lol.
@myqroom You are made of more than I am if you can handle brandy :) I am going to try to get the Milani just for the heck of it to see what it looks like. xoxo jan
Oh, and I wanted to ask you what you are using for concealer these days. I'm not having much luck with the ones I've tried. They seem to show every line and wrinkle I have. Darn 46 year-old face.
@tabgar64 MAC Studio Sculpt. I like the gel types. Of course, I apply both an eye serum & cream first :) I want to try the Eve Pearl one hopefully in early 2011. Don't give up on them & hope you find a winner soon. xxx
I really love the look of those Senna eyeshadows! I'm brown-eyed and am always drawn to brown shadows for neutral looks. I've decided, however, that I am definitely a tinted moisturizer girl over a foundation girl. I *cannot* find a foundation that doesn't look fake on my skin! I did buy a MSF natural yesterday at MAC, though - light medium. The salesgirl gave me a funny look when I told her I wanted to try a MSF natural - she had no idea what I meant until I said Mineralized Skin Finish, LOL!
@tabgar64 I think you would like this palette, if you like browns. I am a foundation girl all the way. I have tried the MSF in lt-natural & would buy it again only in the light shade, I found the other too dark for me. SA's are funny- you expect them to know at least as much as you or what you are talking about when you shop; but sometimes they don't know the acronyms. And if they aren't on the internet frequently, I can understand- but still lol.
Patti- Senna - The names of the shadows alone tempt me!! Gorgeous colors. It looks like mud when I attempt too many shadows at once but I could do those in threes I think.
I have the BB eye cream. I'm really loving the shiseido , too. Good to see your smile, Cheryl
@4evryoung58 Mmmm, I know, makes me want a hot drink & a fireplace asap! I am more of a brandy/coffee fan, truth be told :)
I try to build up the deeper colors in smaller amounts, they can always be layered & of course I have to blend lots & lots Also, I check in more than one mirror (different location) to see "what's what". Love that BB cream, I will look into the Shiseido- I do love their ss. :)
Excellent faves- I really, really mean that!! Not that I don't at other times, but this was so full of insight, experience and taste. You can just tell you really know your products and there are so many lovely things here. I love to watch you, especially when you say little asides, there's always either interesting or funny. Yay for Toxic Tale! ; )
@daisynation Thanks love. I have never doubted your sincerity. You simply aren't the type to be otherwise...
I just try to be myself; an ordinary person who has an odd sense of humor, but doesn't always show it ... like a lot of people I can be too self-critical to expose myself often, in that sense, esp. in light of recent YT events & sites. I don't always have favorites, but these are pretty good; though I don't wear glosses as much. x
Thanks for the video Patti! I've never heard of Senna so far, but the products look really really good!
The scarf is really nice. Being female I share tons & tons of clothes with my mum, we don't have the exact same coloring or style but about the same size and for most basics we really enjoy sharing, so useful whever it's possible.
@flexiplnt I like some of Senna's line, but I haven't been satisfied with everything I've tried :( I will put a link in the description box.
I have shared clothes, etc. with my mom on occasion. She & I live very far apart now, so it's not so often any more. I need a warm scarf in my city! But I like that I can share it too~ of course, if it smelled of perfume, that'd be a different story ;)) Thanks for the holiday wishes- same to you dear! xx
Oh hell girlfriend, you've said it. That Mac foundation I KNOW will be either a LOVE or HATE product on youtube. I love it! It sticks like poop to a woollen blanket. OMG when I wear it, my blush doesn't even fade or need touch up. I KNOW people who don't like the "feel" of foundation will not like this, but OMG that stuff sits like cement, and goes nowhere. LOOOOOVE it.!!!!
@thebarbiewithmuscle Pretty good visual description there hahaha! I really prefer creams, but this stuff is GOOD. And I hear you on the love/hate thing. But for the extra bills, I'd rather buy something that works, not keep hittin' & missin'. I have not noticed it feeling heavy on, but then I can be oblivious to details like that LOL. Or- it just doesn't faze me :) xxx
Lovely favourites, I really like the look of that Senna palette, are they matte shades? That would be nice especially the dark colours. I've heard no matter what age your kids are you never stop being a parent and that includes always worrying, I can so see me being like that. It's snowy hear too first time this winter for us, snowed all yesterday and they've closed my sons school today but my boys aren't well so we're cooped up inside, they so want to go out to play & throw snowballs at me!
@dianeuk01 They are all satin-to-matte, except for Gold Leaf which is shimmery with very fine glitter, not apparent when on. Because love increases when we become a parent (I believe) you do not change your feelings about your wanting to "protect" them & hope they always have the best, no matter their chronological age. Sorry to hear they aren't feeling good; but I would still let them hurl a few snowballs for a small bit; & make sure to have the camcorder on hand! xxx
Great favorites, Patti! Glad that you found a foundation that you like in the mac Pro Longwear. That is true, we can never stop being moms, no matter what. Whenever I remind my 17 yr old son to put on a jacket I get the "Oh Mom." LOL! What are you going to do?? :◊) Hugs!
I use the Revlon PhotoReady, but I've never tried the MAC. I also got the new compact PhotoReady makeup, and I used it a couple of times. It seems to be a little drying to my skin at the point. I may have to try the MAC....I don't really have any high end stuff, so I may need to try some :) Great favorites!!
@twylajoyful Thanks Tywla! If you like liquids, you might enjoy this. It more expensive, but I haven't noticed it drying my skin out- and I have dry skin. MAC will take it back if you don't like it. or get a sample first , like I did :) x
Hello Patti :D What are you going to do for the big 100th video ? That is such an accomplishment :D I can happily say that I have probably seen all 99 so far. Maybe one or two slipped through the cracks :/ Hopefully not -M
@TheSublimeAgent Good morning :) You have raised a very good question. Hmmm... (Thanks so much for watching my them- I am pleased, touched & honored!)
I agree with you, Mac Prolong wear does last all day on me too as opposed to Revlon photo ready. Although Revlon Colourstay has much better lasting power, I would say just as good as Mac Prolong wear. Thank you for another lovely video xx
@darjamarkova I never tried Colorstay, but I know it's a huge favorite. I really like MAC's line; of course, I am open to trying new ones too though! Thank you for watching :) x
Patti You look wonderful ..I know I have said this before but you have the most beautiful eyes and cheek bones .. I haven't heard of Senna but I would really like to have that palette It is just so me. But it is Christmas time and we are putting our son through College so I have to watch my spending but it is beautiful ! Wear it and think of me sometime :)) Also ...I know you mentioned Bobbi Brown eye cream but what do you find to be the best to help with fine lines .Take Care Much Love Susie
@sek4me Thanks Susie, you are not alone, Xmas for us will be on the more modest side again this year. You would like the Senna palette, it is mostly matte & very pigmented. I always use an oil-based serum underneath my eye cream, if that helps :) ♥ xxx

@TheLivwell2 $62 for a blush?!? That's crazy talk! I love that palette, but it seems hard to get ahold of- fairly dupable though, probably :)
