Each day is obviously an allegorical stage in Mr. Grundy's life (although Thursday/Friday and especially Saturday/Sunday are arguably representative of similar times), and there are 7 stages, but the themes are pretty inconsistent with those in As You Like It. I don't think the themes here are meant to be as universal as Shakespeare's. It's just a silly nursery rhyme...

I'm sorry... couldn't fit the hours of contractions and labour in a one-minute shortfilm :-) It's just an animation excercise timed on a classic nursery rhyme. It's not designed to make people depressed. However I do think feeling sad makes you want to change things (the fact that you do feel sad illustrates that there is something you don't like (probably the video :-) ). Whereas feeling happy (with shallow or funny entertainment) just keeps everything as it is...
