I will try harder, but seriously it's not that wilco isn't interesting, it's just that Ryan Adams' emotion in his songs trump wilco; they are so much moving emotionally. Wilco might have some witty jams and what not, but I think RA has this moving/heartbreaking aspect that Wilco can't rival. I will take your rec and see if I can get into Wilco on another level. I always thought Ryan Adams was from Jacksonville. At any rate, I live half the year at the beach in NC, and I agree that his songs are timeless, with beautiful melodies and often haunting lyrics. I love the duets he did with Elton John as well...esp. Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters; "Gold" & "Heartbreaker" are my favorites, but love him with Whiskeytown and the Cardinals as well....Pure genius.
