  • how do you add voice samples? please help thank you.

  • it is NOT a drum machine...

  • @spiderduck29 you are NOT a spiderduck

  • @korgbro I'm not a spiderduck, i know. And i also know that the emx1 is NOT a drum machine...

  • @spiderduck29 it is commonly referred to as a drum machine, because it is a drum machine.

  • @austindmeyer synthesizer

  • how do you get the green ledś running and programm different drumparts on each light, like when you run a preset pattern. byron-ashton@gmx.de

  • Thank you very much!

  • OTRO MIERDASSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • how u can get your own music like dubstep in the korg emx-1?

    already thanks

  • same here it would be nice to see that microkorg midi tutorial thing you mentioned in the start of the video

  • hey so im really interested in this thing ive read the manual already and i dont even own the thing haha but anyways wondering if it works with any amp (like a electric guitar, bass, ect)

  • @MrNOOdlerdoodler

yes sir, regular 1/4th mono or stereo outputs

  • id like to see that tutorial you mentioned.. im having a hard time connecting multiple instruments

  • do you need a midi output to be able to play it? o.O

  • any idiea what good drum machine for psytrance\?? (goatrance)

  • @keveeekev like everyone has told me RTFM or go to PATTERN then V down to LENGTH that will give you all measures, With the synth you can use the keyboard or the pads hit record tap or hold the arpegg.

  • Please, I'm tribecore and dnb dj and I've bought an EMX1 and I have some problem to make some bass melody and cescendos, so would you make a tutorial for showing me how I can do. Thanks

  • @funnyroms

En s'il vous plaît français. Quels sont exactement les problèmes que vous rencontrez?

  • dude you plug this into an amp. does that mean tht you must have a speaker plugged into it for it to play out loud???

  • @wesleypiglover you'll need either an amp or headphones like every other drum machine, sequencer out there.

  • when you hit the button first it sounds like the prodigy!! :)

  • got my emx yesterday for around 300 bucks , only problem is i dont have the power cable /: . anyone know where i can find a cable that will power my emx or if i need korg's emx cable only

  • @txErIktx If you have the most recent emx -1 sd then it has a universal adapter try to find something with 12v get it tested with a multimeter so that is definitely 12v and the dc connection should be easy to find, if you not in America you can buy a alternate power cord and plug it into the ac box. 100/240v 50/60hz if it has this on it is a universal adapter.

  • Fukin wanker the sound for video iz fuked you try listening to it with headphones and in the first fukin minute you tap the mic and my fuking ears blew fuck head

  • @maayaa77 stfu loser dont call him a wanker for your gay headphones

  • @postmortemspasm geez maybe a response three months later is the gayest thing you can do.

  • @maayaa77 I thought the gayest thing you could do was have sex with someone of same sex...

  • @korgbro i bought one before the m3 had it for a about a week...turned it on after using it for six days no sound...sent it to korg waited...waited...i got impatient and my money back and bought the m3....i figured i can always by the radius and connect it threw the m3...but i have other interest now...prolly just got a bad one...but the radius is a very powerful hands on syth u can get ur hands dirty with :)

  • i use reason four i control it with my roland fantom g and ocassionally my korg m3 depending on my mood...its amazing that u can get free vst plugins so ur sound bank is constantly growing as for the analog boards i use alot ov the oberheim matrix synths roland jupiter 8 juno 106 those are precious to me and are in a completley different set up away from my modern gear...ableton is bomb i run it on a mac and control it from my tenori on cause the tenori has a wack tone generator...cheers

  • @processean242

have you checked out the RADIAS? i just got payed, and im thinking of buying one, but im not sure yet... in new york nobody has one for me to try, have you checked one out?

  • @korgbro did u check out the sam ash store in times square? they might have it.

  • i would consider it a portable synth workstation than a drum machine..as a drum machine only has drum sounds and your occasion synth bass, sure you could use some nice software on a computer but any one can click on a mouse and make it sound good...but if you spent most ov your time with hardware then youve earned the right to be lazy and use a computer..as today i love how they brought the hardware to control software thats a different story..VJFranz k you da man!!!!!

  • @processean242

I was thinking the same thing before, but check out reason, or ableton. It's not like 'clicking a mouse' in any musical situation there are people who are lazy and don't really know how to use things. I have had the pleasure of using and EMX, ESX, a MOTIF (keyboard but very programmable), a MicroKorg. I have used on occasions many vintage drum and analog synths such as the Juno 106, Prophet, Yamaha sy77 i think, as well as the mini moog. These vintage boards

  • (cont) contain a large amount of modeling, which none of the korg products that i've tried contain. People like 3Oh3! or whatever advertise their live electronics as sophisticated but to my knowledge all they use is premade loops, though i have no citation. Bands such as Pendulum or The Prodigy have been using software on stage, but to its full effect.

in the video i was (crudely) saying that i didn't think the emx was a machine without flaws. It's PCM bank is very limited, which is

  • important to me.

I suggest you check reason, and see how much of a variety you get from the bank of instruments, as well as the modeling advantage you get.

It's noble and cooler to be able to use a physical piece of equpiment, but saying its as easy as clicking a mouse is not really accurate.

while VJFranz is right, saying it was a fancy drum machine is a large oversimplification, i don't believe that it can really match up to music software as the gap between what you can do with

  • a piece of equipment versus what you can do with software is widening quickly.

  • you may need to read this backwards or something...

  • You're funny :D

  • @Guitar123Colt how?

  • @korgbro as in you have funny comments that made me laugh throughout this video :D

  • i was really dsapointed because it seems like you have alot to say but i couln't hear you and my volume was max :(

  • @saix987 thats weird. try again

  • over all, would you say the emx is worth it?

  • @Insanewarrior69

    ehhhhhh. no.

  • @korgbro -- so what's a good hard drum machine you recommend? ;P

  • @korgbro You might not understand what you have there. ;-) It's a lot more than a "fancy drum machine" - Like anything, it takes time to learn to use it, don't give up!

  • @VJFranzK

i disagree. while, 'fancy drum machine' was an understatement, this machine is really not so good. I think using a laptop with ableton and a plethora of software synths is just better. I even tried using my emx as a midi device at that point, but it just made more sense to buy an Akai controller.

each to his own though dude, im going to check out your videos and see what you've got going. I accepted the response btw.

  • thanks so much for posting this! could you make a video showing how you use the microkorg with it?

  • good job

  • hey dude great intro on the emx , would you be able to demo enter shikari's sorry your not a winner , interlude , cheers

  • thanks dude. I got mine the other day, but i have trouble whenever i press play, it always plays the demo song for whatever pattern im on...how do i stop that? thanks alot

  • Yo! Thanks bro, i got my emx the other day, and i was having trouble writing a new song with multiple tracks. I geddit now! XP

  • no problemm dudddee

  • BTW the thing you have said about the tubes is completly incorrect.

it says everywhere in the manual that exessive amounts of volume, (tube gain obviously effects the vol) so it just says be careful NOT because the tubes will blow, just because they are so awesomly powerful, they can damage external speaker system, and more importantly, your ears. so nothing to wory about when your turning up the tube gain, just be causious that your not messing up your speakers :)

  • hey, got a problem using the korg, no problem making one single pattern, but i dnt know how to add a new pattern ? could you describe how to plz? awesome vid

  • to a song you mean? like so one pattern plays and then another without you turning the dial?

  • i mean like when you've made one pattern and want to add another pattern so that you can continue the song/beat you are making? if you understand?

  • @Koymo

i have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, so im going to go make a video about how to make a song on the electribe and how to edit more presets and hope you can follow along

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • okay, this may seem like an extremely big 'noob' question, but how can you make you own beats?

and at around 5.30 did you make that or is it a preset?

one more thing, hard to use? for beginners

    thanks

  • check out my other video. i have a few videos on doing that.

also na, thats a preset. EMX has so many nice presets.

  • so is it easy to set your tracks on it. I just got a microkorg and have been looking into different stuff for music production, including the KP3 and just started thinking about this (lol Enter Shikari fan) and was wondering how easy or difficult it is to learn?

  • its pretty easy. But I've learned that its more for nerdy kids who care alot about having the console, and a hands on experience with the music. You could make something better, and faster more easily with a program. However the electribe is amazing for a more live feel. A trance solo in a song or something is really aided by watching the electronics player twist some knobs. Also this thing is top if you are looking for it to be midi capable. It midis so nicely.

  • ah sweet, thnx for the feedback, i'd like to get a band together with equipment like this. But yeah, thnx a lot =]

  • alright mate, just got one of these today and im curious.when u switch it on u get all of the preset tracks - is there a bank that you can start a new project from scratch and then save it to the emx?

  • no. But what you can do (what i've done anyway,) is buy a SmartMedia Card (they are obsolete, but can be bought for $30 on ebay) and pop it in the slot as a bank. Besides that there isn't anything to do but save over the patches, although this is ok as a temporary solution, because you can always revert back to factory settings if you need to.

  • you know when you save over the patches...do you entirely delete the original patch?iv just checked ebay and im gna get a 128mb smartmedia card. how many tracks will this store?pardon my fast response but im having fun with me new emx lmao -cheers for your help

  • haha its fine, im glad i was sick today(not really) and was able to help out.

128 will hold a tonnn of patches. I have like 50 on my 128 card, and its not full yet. So i think your good. haha.

  • nice.just making sure im buying the right thing - can u tell me if these smartmedia cards also fit some cameras? just people sellin them on ebay listin them for cameras, suppose they dont know they fit the emx too.much appreciated mate

  • @korgbro do you know if an SD card can be used to record finished tracks on

  • @2412daz it cannot

  • does the tempo come with numbers on the screen? because if it does, than im sold.

  • yes it does

  • thank you.

  • Can you Show how to Connect A MIDI keyboard to the electribe.. ive been having trouble with my MIDI in/ out

  • how hard are these things to use

  • yeah sure,

    its not a big deal.

I'll do it on tuesday night ok?

  • korgbro me also i could be doing with the complete tutorial..just picked one these badboys up the other day and the manual was complete faded downloaded bollox...full tuts are good.thanks bud.
