@langa209 The song I heard was based upon a nas joint but the beat had like three keychanges and more instruments... didnt sound like a copy of the original any more than thieves theme sounded like Hip hop is dead, same basic melodies with all ne interpretation and new lyrics, I get what you are saying but Hip hop isnt about the beats anyway...ELzhi is a lyrisist, not a producer (I often complain that he doesnt hook up wit ha decent producer and just be a team, like Hi tek+Kweli, gangstarr)
