  • As a former U.S. Recon Marine and a Private Security Contractor, there is only one thing I've learned from my time in the world, is that everyone dies alone, and the only deaths I've seen is the human being in fear.

  • i absolutely loved this video and this book changed my life!

  • love!!!

  • Quotes from an amazing book. Captivating by John and Staci Elderedge.Boys & girls, this is some deep stuff. Soothes my weary soul.

  • Aaaawwww....I LOVED your presentation. Yes, beauty is so important and sth every woman needs to know!!!

Thanks for sharing and through it, I realized, that woman they kind of dont like beauty, better: beauty the world has to give, cause it causes you into shame and feel bad- but Gods beauty is wonderfull and true xoxo ! And the true beauty gives us power <3.

  • Yes, broken120, this book is AWESOME and is changing my life too. I could not stop feeling angry with my mother about the issues which devastated my childhood, and was starting to bear a grudge. It was like an ugly poison wrapping itself around my heart, and I knew I had to forgive. But in order to forgive - I needed to understand what really happened - in full. Then GOD led me to Captivating......... :-D xxxxxxx

  • beauty is hollow, empty and dead. It does not teach, or save lives, or bring us closer to truth. It simply causes emotion, which is the best tool for deceiving a human mind.

If there is a god then the physical nature of the universe and flaws in the human brain such as the notion of beauty are strong evidence that he is evil. a deceiver and enslaver.

The sexist notions of the christian god also defy free will. we choose who we are. we can not be born masculine or feminine

  • @JustThink00 I actually agree on the first part about beauty and the Bible goes with it as well.

The physical nature of the universe, its order and complexity is in a way manifestation of the character of God. However, more than that the way the world is, the way we understand beauty nowadays, the way we understand morality and righteousness is the evidence of the fall of human kind, and these are the fruits of rebellion against God

Where did you get your understanding of the christian God from?

  • The only pure good that i believe in is the human soul, by virtue of it's capability to think and choose and it's desire to seek good/truth. These capabilities give it individuality, which is akin to existence. That which is not individual and self determining effectively does not exist. Free will and reason enable self determination and enable one to seek and do good, and so are the only indisputable pure goods.

  • Beauty does not in any way protect or nurture free will or reason. Like much of this world we think of it as good simply because of illogical emotion or because we were taught to from birth, and so it serves only to confuse the issue and distract us. Such distractions gradually warp a mind. Combine that with a weak ego and you eventually the soul is suppressed and forgotten in favor of physical pleasures or pseudo-spiritual pleasures like those you get from bowing to a god.

  • @JustThink00

My understanding of the christian god comes from 13 years of catholic religious class, which did include a little bit about other christian denominations. Regardless, any god who would create sex and gender must be sexist unless he wanted us to rise above them. We do not choose our gender and thus it can not be part of us, and so thinking that it harms us in many ways.

  • So maybe you should get your understanding from an ultimate source of the knowledge of God - the Bible rather than rely on what some random people tell you.

You can choose hardly anything in your existance. You cannot choose your capacity to reason either. You cannot choose your desires or motivation - if you fight against them it is only because you have stronger desire towards something else. One way or another you are a slave of your will rather than rule over it.

  • well you asked where i got my understanding of the christian god. that must come from christianity(and yes i have read the bible cover to cover at least a couple times). my understanding of any real god or gods would of course come from experiences with them, but those are hard to prove even to yourself, and harder still to fully understand

  • could even a god rise above his own will? i seek freedom but if only so much of it is possible then i'll take that much untill i can find better. You point out that total free will is theoretically impossible because we never do anything without a reason. To that i can only say that i believe we have every freedom short of that, and perhaps if we can escape the chains of this world we may go beyond human comprehension and find more. In meditation i have glimpsed things that hint such

  • @JustThink00 I think you have a very shallow and limited definition of beauty

  • @missmcpirate shallow? surely that would be the last adjective most would think of here, as I sit condemning reality itself as being too shallow for my tastes.

A curious perspective and I would not mind if you elaborated.

  • @JustThink00 Is humanity mainly good? How do you define goodness? I do not see it when I study the history. I do not see it when I look at the world today, even when I look at children - if we judge them objectively they do not have desires towards good and purity but they lie and seek their own good as their first instinct. And can you honestly say there is goodness within you? Not what you show to people but who you truly are. We seek good for ourselves but it is rarely good in a moral sense.

  • @masterowa

i absolutely see good in humanity and in children. As far back as i can remember into my childhood i wanted good for everyone and my only "selfish" desire was to understand the truth of myself and the universe so that i could accomplish true good. I believe that we all have a pure good soul somewhere but it is confused and suppressed by the desires of the flesh and maybe a false soul superimposed on it by god.
