One thing I have found is that other simple GPS products aren't very simple. BackTrack is pretty simple although the Onix isn't... don't confuse the two though because Bushnell has discontinued the Onix for probably good reason. You do need to keep the backtrack level but so does any other digital compass. I highly recommend this product.
I bought a similar device in Sweden called Navibe backtracker. It can save 4 positions and cost 65.49$(499kr) and has more features. you can buy it online at clasohlson.se/
Unless yours actually works, you won't miss it. (well, maybe just the large color screen) but instead deny its ownership in the unlikely event that someone finds and attempts to return it to you. Instead of photo maps like they CLAIM it will show, mine just down loads the grid that you pick those photos with. Very disappointed. Even more so that you don't get a map cd like Garmin. Hmmm...Map cd and a small b/w screen or a large color one that shows nothing...what a choice!!
@UpcomingJedi I don't really understand what you say. But I don't think you can compare a bushnell Backtrack with a Garmin device. There is a big price difference, not a apples to apples comparison.
I am referring to trying to down load the maps that are shown on the commercials and on the box. They do not actually come with it and you have to attempt to down load each one, peice by peice. Most of the time..no, all of the time, they do not want to down load. You get an error messge box instead. Very agravating. Not referring to the price. I am saying that why is it so hard to get the bushnell onix 350/400 to work right, else its just an overpriced xm radio with a color screen !
Being as basic as it looks, I don't think so. I am referring to a bushnell onix 350 which is pretty much like this with the added basic feature of adding little icons for your favorite spots. It might as well be the back track. Maps for the onix are almost impossible to download as many also attest to and end up relisting the item on Woot.
is it solar>>>>>>>??????

If it's not perfectly level, you will get bad directions.

@UpcomingJedi I see. I don't have a Bushnell BackTrack, but I think you don't need to download anything to the BackTrack to make it work, right?

I read that your locations can be easily mistakenly erased is that true?
chrism76 2 years ago
If it had more than 3 locations to find, it would be easy to get confused as to which location was for which icon. 3 locations seems about right.

I use this device for hunting snd think that it is pure GOLD!!!

what would be cool if you could fin another
gps system to locate the other gsp system
so if some one get hurt you can find them
like in show or deep in the forest or at sea

But GPS doesn't work well indoors. So it can't find a car parked in an indoor parking space.

Neat. Digital breadcrumbs. But it only saves up to three locations? They couldn't make room for more?
