According to Roy, it started when he was just starting out and there wouldn't be mics on his whole kit, so he had to play harder and louder, so he finally started playing with the butts to get maximum volume, and it just became comfortable for him. I sometimes prefer playing with the butts as well. SO much volume and attack!

Dose any one know if Ray uses the Paragon cymbals in his set or not? I know he uses Sabian but I am unsure if he uses paragons when he really playing. Can anyone tell me?

Yo all you Mayorga fans! If you are a drummer and you'd like to get the same kind of a ride cymbal that Roy uses, then go contact so Sabian and ask them about ROY MAYORGA ANVIL RIDE 24"! Sabian doesn't do them for public sale and they can only be specially ordered! Roy himself told me that if this cymbal was desired more then they would start mass producing it! And that would be cool! SPREAD THE WORD!!
