OMG OMG OMG here in Los Angeles, we are experiencing a HOT winter !!! it was so hot that for the Rose Bowl some of the Wisconsin Badgers were dehydrating (they lost the game in the last minute, BTW.) Also, the doves and mockingbirds are singing in the trees in front of my house because they think it's Spring !!!
today is another HOT one, almost 30 C. the birds around my house are now breeding, and baby chicks are hatching-- i can hear them chirping in the morning. they think Spring is in full effect !!!
Haha, I have the complete opposite opinion. I was freaking ecstatic when I realized that we'd have a snow-free Christmas here. And then I got sad when about two weeks ago it not only started snowing, but the snow *stuck*. It's even snowing right now! Bloody snow. Snow = cold, wet, in the way (blocks ALL the shortcuts), and its friend ice is slippery as fuck. Also, with snow comes the inevitable "slask" (as in half-melted snow mixed with mud, do you have that word in Norwegian?).
@FearMyWreath Hahaha, I know I'm probably of the minority who loves winter. 'Tis my favorite season ^^ And it only blocks the shortcuts if you have lousy winter shoes. I just walk through the snow like a boss. Hahaha. And we do indeed have a word for slask! I was not aware there was a word in english for it, but now I have learned something new! We call it sludd and slaps.
@AloofDinosaur Actually slask is the Swedish word for it, but according to Wiktionary (I just checked) there actually is an English word for it, namely "slush"; I didn't think they had a word for it. Or maybe that was what you were referring to without actually mentioning the word, but there you have it.

We have a lot of snow in Finland. Maybe I should send some of it to Norway? :)
