I kept the stock rims on our 95 and put 235-70-15 tires on. They ride better, last

longer and the Lincoln doesn't look like its wearing ballet slippers like it does

with the little tires. My buddy uses these for taxis and he says they will go

600-700K miles as long as they are maintained. So ours is "new" with only

300K. They got that dinky little 280 V-8 and I never liked that the computer

controls the spark, injection, everything. But a friend gave me the car, so

its cool. 28 mpg hiway

@mark0101 get your hands on a police ecm from a p71 crown vic ( same vehicle / ford panther platform. . merc grand marquis, ford crown vic, and lincoln towncar) it will remove the limiter. you can usually find those ecm's on ebay lol. if you cant find one locally. that is IF you wish to do so :)

@thebulldog84 depends on what year. most normal non sports cars in the USA at least have a speed limit set by the computer normly between 105mph and 115mph. also the class of tiers they are sold with can effect what the speed setting is. that town car as is with no cpu set speed lemit could prob do close to 140mpg given enough road and IF the gears allow it.

These video's are just to get an idea of how fast the cars are, if you wanna compare, use 1/4 mile times. remember that driving conditions are not the same between video to video. alot of factors are involed like temp, road condition and elevation....BTW what do those minivans run in a quater mile??

Thats an estimate on the fly computation. The thing will go crazy under WOT and 120MPH. If he were to let off for a while, or even turn the car off and drive in speed limit it would recalc and probably go back up to 170 to empty.
