Lol, well, you could do it with 3.3, but installing wads would be a pain, seeing as they're blocked. There's really no chance of hurting the Wii during downgrade, UNLESS you pick the wrong region, one that it didn't start with.

You'll need to choose the correct "Force" option in "Config Options". I don't know what country you're in, so just try each one, one at a time until it works.

my homebrew channel is still installed; its just i didn't do the dvdx installer yet after the 3.4 firmware installed become completed. i reports 2 errors of after the "normal" installing during dvdx DoS like interface. it can't install the dvdx

Well, dvdx is no longer needed for Backup Launching, so unless you're using it for DVD Movie playback, it's not needed.

1: i downgraded to 3.2U and everything works fine, but wen i played the actual super smash bros brawl i own, it asked me to update, so i did it (the disk update, im still at 3.2U ) so does this mess up any homebrew or any thing?

2:some games that i play work but wen i try some of the differents modes or storys on the game it say wii disk error, check the manual or whatever, and sometimes i start the gameand says that, how do i fix that?

Some games just do that. You have to be ... not unlucky. Every game I've tried other than Wario Land works perfect.

Wow, that is... quite strange. If you did want to you could format the Wii memory, it's the last option in settings. You'd lose all your Miis, SaveGames, and Channels, though...

Overall steps:

1. Have 3.3 as a problem. (Done)

2. Install rev 5 of the cios. (Done)

3. Downgrade to 3.2.

4. Install Cios with the installer app.

(Optional but helpful) Install the modded ios51 that makes the wii think it's the new firmware while keeping compatibility.

5. Play backed up games

Now, on that topic, don't worry about it ruining the basic Wii operations. That's the cool thing about the cios's, they operate next to the actual OS, instead of overwriting.

Yes, that's good. Did you try installing the rev 5 from my pack or did you only try the installing app?

Anyways, glad to hear it. Although all the cios_fix did was screw mine up so I couldn't play ANY game, it seems to work for you. You can head over to wiiso(.)com to find a downgrading tutorial. Downgrade to 3.2, and stay there! You will find it's the best choice. Good luck.

I understand, though, I don't under stand how he could have installed onto 3.3. You can install, then update to 3.3 and have it work, but installing on 3.3 is impossible, like in your case. So, apparently, either he installed it before updating, or it was some lucky thing that happened to him.

Yeah, 3.3 doesn't like homebrew. If you don't have a Cios installed already, you cant downgrade, so you'll just have to wait until the next homebrew breakthrough.

got the HBChannel v8 running, Wii gator 0.3 beta, Wii NTSC (v3.2U - updated it safely via HBChannel).

Got several wii ISOs off the net - no matter what i do (patch or not), when i burn them on a DVD-R (verbatim - speed 4x), I always get an error message from wii gator backup launcher - something like "exception (DSI) occured" followed by a bunch of letters/numbers.

Any idea what's going on? Is it a bad dump or am I missing something?

Strange... the only thing I see wrong right away is the burning speed. 2x is recommended, and there's a chance it may be the problem, however some games just don't work. Which have you tried?

I got this to work with other games but with Mario Strikers it loads the game and before it gets to the oping screen for the game it says: "An error has occurred. Press the eject button remove the game disc, and turn the power off. Please read the Wii operation manual for more information."

Why is it not playing the game? Does this not work on Mario Strikers or something b/c all my other games work?

If you have a special LG drive, then it can be placed in the computer and read directly from it, but if not, you'll have to use the Wii to send it to the computer.

Yeah, you're right. And the source files are for if you want to edit it yourself. Like, it's just for you to browse through the code, if you were a coder and wanted to either help the project or just play with it yourself. They aren't needed for general use.

Then it's just a game that doesn't work..can't do anything about it.

Sometimes with alot of games on the loader, the pal works and the ntsc doesnt (or the other way around) so you can check the list to see if the same game but from another region may work..

You extract one of them with winrar, it will extract them all into one .iso file. Right click the iso, and if you have ImgBurn installed, which you should (since it's free and awesome) you just click 'burn with imgburn'.

So,

1. extract

2. right click iso - burn with imgburn

's. I need helps =/ ok let me tell you what I have. The folder labeled world tour and umm 31 of this rdt-ghwtw rar's. Then I have a rdt-ghwtw it is a MSinfo object I have no clue what that is. Then I have rdt-ghwtw.r(31-92) idk what thats for. Then The las rdt-gwtw has a .sfv at the end whats that...Ok now what do I do sorry to bother you haha..

The info is, well, the info, which should be opened in notepad to view it. 31 to 92 are just part of the altogether iso, they might not have the winRAR icon, but they can still be opened by it. The sfv is just a checking tool. It is sometimes used by some people to verify that all the rars in the pack are not corrupted or missing. So, to you and me, it's useless, ignore it. When extracting, you should get the iso, taken from every rar in the directory. Then you SHOULD just be able to -next post-

-resumed- just right click, burn with img burn at 2x on a DVD-R dvd. If you want to patch it, which I did (not sure if the patched version works on v.3, as some don't) then it takes a few more steps. You'd have to go get WiiGator's patcher, "Extract Partition", then put it, the common key from Waninkoko's patcher, and the iso in the same folder. You then open Command Prompt and CD to the folder. (cd C:/folder/folder/whateverthena­mefoler/) then type:

extractpartition.exe nameofthegame.iso -next-

all on one line. It will patch/decrypt, then burn that the same way you would.

So... there ya go?

Uhm the cIOS, is like some firmware stuff im not that deep into that so im afraid ill give you some wrong info.

But i do know that you need to install it to make the loader work, and if you get a ret 1029 error while installing the cios you gotta delete the old cios if you had one installed, if that happens to you you can always give me a hit so i can help ya.
