this has always been one of my favorites but never thought i'd ever be able to play it like it was originally recorded. your lesson was outstanding, can't wait to perfect it.
great, simple lesson. keep them coming.
any chance at all that you might have been interested enough to learn/teach "nature of the game" by dan fogelberg? it's on my "bucket "list. thanks again
thanks for your kind post and i'm glad the vid may have helped....i'm with your bro - this one is on my all-time top list. I'll be giving the DF tune a new listen.
Great Lesson Dale! Once I mastered this, I play it on my 12-string, sounds even better, -and your right, that D7 shaped chord in the middle of the song is nice! Keep 'em coming!
Just wanted to say thanks for your reply to me, and also that I learned Another Park Another Sunday yesterday. You make it very easy for me to follow along. A bit more challenging, but I think I got it. Thanks again!!!
Thank you so very much. You are a great teacher>I have been wanting to learn this song for a long time. I used to sit around all day and learn from others in my youth, and it is great to keep learning now from youtube and you.
Thank you so very much for this excellent tutorial Dale! Thanks to you I believe "I've got's it!" I LOVE Open G Tuning, this is one of my all time favorite songs as well and I must say "Go Three Fingers" all the way on the Chorus and also on the ending as well. Cheers - Scott
Most excellent tutorial. First time playing an open tuning and I got the whole song in 2 or 3 times putting the sections together. You made this very easy to learn a song which I thought was really difficult. Many thanks, Jim H.
Really appreciate that tone....started playing guitar a few years before I was confronted with Doobies blend of everything. Great way you have in explaining the inexplicable! That great twang of a Martin as well. Thanks mate
I've been a fan of the doobies since 73 and started playing the guitar a couple years ago. I love this song and I really appreciate that you posted this great lesson.
I hope the video is helpful, thanks for watching and i appreciate your post! I'm glad you are enjoying your guitar - let me know if i can ever help in any way,
tonedr, thanks for such a great post,I think I,ve nailed it now. I remember standing in a record shop in Newcastle, England in 73 or 74 and listening to some of the most beautiful guitar playing I,d ever heard so I asked the guy behind the counter who it was, he told me clear as the driven snow by the doobie bros, this was the first I,d heard of them but I walked out with the album and to this day it is still in my all time top5 albums, cheers mate
This is my favorite Doobie's song. Been trying to learn it for years but never thought of changing the tuning from standard. Needless to say, I've always been frustrated.
Just wanted to compliment you on a great lesson. Never thought I'd be able to play this but you explained everything in such detail I am having fun playing this great and unfortunately overlooked Doobie classic. Question: in the verses and chorus are you strumming the low E (tuned to D)?
hello, really appreciate you watching the videos and i'm glad you are playing this great tune!
i don't strum the low string (D) hardly at all because i like the root G note (A string) to generally be on the bottom of the chord. Let me know if i can help in any other way.
Hey Tonedr, thank you so much for your rendetion of the Doobie Brothers classic. I've wanted to play this song my hole life. Now I can play it any time I want. You made my day. Thanks again

Dale- you have taken a very beautiful song and explained the fingering very well. Now I have to practice it. Saw the Doobies last night and they played this song.
hello Rick, that is very cool you just saw the Doobies, great they are still playing and I'd love to see them again as well. Thanks for your kind words and watching the video,
As always the playing is 1st class Dale. The concise fingering was excellent.A long time ago I asked you for Larry the logger instruction for us mere mortals if you can find the time if you would be so kind.Luke.
