Haha, that woman's boasting of Krasnoyarsk is SO common throughout Russia...they're very competitive...their region/city is always the best, and everyone always comes from all over Russia just for the chocolate (no matter where). Krasnoyarsk is indeed a nice city though--I've been there 3 times.

@Indestructible229 The current situation has its good and bad sides, the minor corruption helps people to live more or less normal lives (to elude the GULAG-like army service, for example), but the greater corruption doesn't allow the society to grow. Actually there was always a kind of wall between the common people and those who hold power in Russia, and it will remain there until the conscience changes on both sides. The government still carries only of the country but not of its citizens.

@stasiusiekiera2 No metro yet, trams are there but only in the southern part of the city. The most common mean of public transportation of a bus (called marshrutka), they are generally good and quite cheap (11 rubles per trip, no matter the distance), but crowded during the rush hours.

@AnaLight1706 Well, every city has its downsides? I'm a Krasnoyarsk dweller myself since I was born and have a lot to complain of as well as to admire of in my city. Sure we got a lot of nasty gopniks and drunkards alongside with good people, but most of the people you meet are good and benevolent. It's like everywhere I think.
