  • i tried to make a science joke but the best argon.

  • This is awesome, this is going to be in my front coat room for intruders to get zapped, except the concept will require several of them, and of course a system to seperate friends from foes.

  • that thing probably would turn you to a pile of ash

  • red alert 2

  • my dad delivers argon to computer buildings and welding places

  • woh

  • I love this. I love their site too

  • Sweet, would love to pump it with Musical DRSSTC pumping 2.2kps.!

    Cheers,

    Dr. Spark

  • I love you.

  • Awsome! you have invented something special!

  • Try using some kind of ultraviolet laserbeam.

UV light ionizes the air molecules and should conduct high voltage.

Than you would have the real teslaower as in the red alert videogame.

It's something I've always wanted to trie!

  • Feed the beam to the teslacoil with fiberoptic cable for electric insulation.

And mount some battery powered mirror servo on top for aiming.

Damn If I had the money I would really make myself the tesla tank :D

Anyway if you decide to experiment and get good results leave me a message and video :D

  • Argon is conductive and cheap as teslasintern pointed out. Power is supplied by a 20kW Tesla coil not a Van de Graff.

  • I think it's just a regular Van de Graff generator.

  • no! a van de graff came like 20-30 yrs after the tesla coil!almost seems like the tesla coil was stolen again when you look at the design of a van de graph,hmm...this is a tesla coil with the top terminal connected to the insulated argon bulb and allowed to fire at the grounding rod/plate in the air! remember the tesla coil came first! some day i will be able to build this stuff lol. great work kva.

  • Why argon? What makes it the most appealing medium?

  • id say its cause its the cheapest noble gas, and as its a noble gas its non reactive.. so id say cost

  • I second HomeDistiller ...

considering the amount used, Neon is VERY

    expensive,,,, Helium is a idea...

  • yay! Dr. Megavolt! I still use that light switch cover you gave me...by far the bestest light switch cover ever.

Sooo...on topic, can this sort of beam only be directed at magnetic/metal targets? It seems sort of lacking in direction (more like a regular tesla coil). I hope this is taken the right way, but I'd really like to see something actually destroyed with this "weapon"

  • Dr. Megavolt aka Austin Richards is a friend of kVA Effects but not an employee. The cannon would be most usefull against electronic or organic targets.

  • Yes, because it is cheap, but mostly because it is very conductive at high voltages, just like all the other noble gases.
