ok, the idea behind Surface is cool, but...

IT'S NOT NEW!!!

all it is is three simple technologies:

a projection screen

a camera with object detection

and wi-fi

the rest is basically just a big box.

it's just not practical. I don't want to have to have a completely separate desk sitting right next to my already existing one.

just take the HP TouchSmart idea, make it thinner, lay it face up on a desk, and build a good camera into it that can see me and the "screen area" at the same time.

It was actually due to the hardware limitations of a brand new Mac, couldn't even handle simple editing and some lighting effects. I'm lucky my project even made it out of the computer. There are some systems that use a Wi-Fi connection to perform some of the operations that bluetooth can do. I have a wi-fi compatible webcam that can upload to flickr and a few other image hosting services that i prefer to not use... i believe that the Wi-Fi is used like a mesh network connecting with other systems... but what the h3ll do i know lol
