I did enjoy the film, but I would like everyone to know that I have been there, and Afghanistan, and know guys in my unit that were there around the same time as this was filmed, and the people really don't understand alot, and the situation there is very complicated. The people can be two faced. I agree with some of the things you all say, but unless you go there and experience it first hand you don't get the full picture.

The problem with US soldiers is that they are generally uneducated (beyond high school or community college) and lack the drive or skills to do any research on their own... and like most of middle America, are fairly narrow minded and have lemming mentality.

I did enjoy the film, but I would like everyone to know that I have been there, and Afghanistan, and know guys in my unit that were there around the same time as this was filmed, and the people really don't understand alot, and the situation there is very complicated. The people can be two faced. I agree with some of the things you all say, but unless you go there and experience it first hand you don't get the full picture.

ou know America is so fearful and threatened and full of guilt they need nut inspectors at their airports, because they are scared of their own shadows. What's amazing is that their government is the biggest terrorist the world has ever known. They exploit fears of reprisal and tell their people how wonderful they are when they get their own people to be violated and humiliated. If you listen to the soldier, he could not really answer substantively of why he's there. There was a long pause and then an unsure reason. I am amazed at "we're not here to hurt". That's another amazing statement. Amazing because this occupation has done nothing but ruin lives and ruin property, and most of all, ruin minds. They call the fighters chickens? Guerilla is always hit and run against a superior force. Americans did it during their revolutionary war. I am sad really, and yes ashamed.

@jojjo223 Sometimes I wonder how "cool" it is to see such sadness, on both sides. But, I do appreciate the reporting. One thing though, he is not really as close to the people of the land. I understand though, however the people are portrayed as not mattering much. The commentary of the soldiers are very condescending yet still disillusioned as well. This land worked well before our installation of the regime we thought we could change. Yes, nevertheless it is still good reporting.

@Azza297 If the USA and Britain thought that way about the middleastern countries that they've so far only skirmished with, then those countries would have been flattened a long time ago. I'm not saying that what the US is doing in the middleast is good. I disagree with much of how they've handled things. But if those middleastern countries really want to stick-it-to the west in war, then their people better put down the Quran's and start picking up the science textbooks.
