WOW I am impressed, I just got my 1st jeep but its the 4 banger, I hope when I do put an exhaust on it it sounds half as good as yours. Is your set up a cat-back?

@sekiride dont run no cat. thats illegal and you get major fines. i just put a straight pipe exhaust system in right after the cat and took the muffler out and couldnt be any happier with the way it sounds.

just got a 01 cherokee, 4.0..exhaust leaks a bit. its my toy puller n everyday car so i dont want to make it loud i have a toy car for that =), but as i will be towing with it i was wondering if i just had 2 1/2 press bend all the way back from header with cats in place, and maybe one of these 50 series... i should not lose any of the great low end grunt of this lil 225 tourqe rite?? lol just curious guys thanks for any input...! i will only be towing 3800lbs at most.. for steady bout 4 hours.

@Tomcat723 - The muffler shop I got it at, makes there own 2 chambers. But it is identical to the 40 series original.

Hey man, first off very nice. lovin it. I do have a quick question. How much did the lift kit run you. for parts and instalation i mean. Thanks for the vid. This def helped me figure out how I want my jeep to sound.

@jcthedrummer - The lift kit is Rough Country and its $499, the install I did myself, its very easy. With simple hand tools you should have no trouble. Thank you for the comments.

@kowz4u The front and rear bumpers I had custom made by a guy in Ohio, he doesn't make bumpers any more. The tail lights are made by Off Road Only and they are called LED Lite DOTs

@bader123bader - Its 2 Chamber Flowmaster Style Muffler and a

Magna Flow High Flow Cat, but this is a 4.0L motor, yours is a 3.8L, so I am not sure it will sound the same.

@Mustangkidd1 I have a 2002 TJ and I am wanting a 4 inch lift kit. I was wondering if the Rough Country lift is a nice one? Pros and Cons?

@brockskates - I like it, sits at about 5". Gave me plenty of room to fit bigger tires. For the price, it can't be beat. Springs have no settled and I have had the lift on since 05. Only con is its a short arm lift, For the extra money, I would get the X-series, or the Long Arm kit, it ride 10x's better.

I like them and how your jeep sounds, thanks for replying. What brand of rear tire carrier do you have on it, and did it come with the rear bumper too? I have a 33" attached to my stock tire carrier and it feels like it is going to fall off every time I hit a bump.

The rear bumper I had custom made. It has a swing out tire carrier and led backup lights built in. The guy who build it does no build them anymore.

nice tj. ive got the 40 series also and couldnt be happier with the sound. add an intake and you have an unbelievable sounding 6 cyl. better than all those toyotas and chevys haha.

I dont think it is.. i think you use more gas because you want to hear the exhaust so you press the pedal more. just mu opinon.

Yes, the cat made the sound, it sounds so much better in person, the camera does not do justice!

Cut the cat off, Weld a piece of pipe in its place. Get a 18mm nut to weld back onto the pipe to reinstall your 02. I have done it on more than one TJ and no check engine light and because the 4.0 is old tech, It somtimes will pass smog test with out it. Much better than wasting money on a cat that takes power and sound away, Save the money for a better jeep mod.
