  • as Mrs. Mears said in TMM..Oh Pook...give them their moeny back just ot get rid of them...

  • REALLY PEOPLE! Julie is my musical idol! I grew up watching her movies and I'm only 19 years old! I when I did an essay that was about a person who inspire you the most, i chosed julie and I sadly learned about her tragic loss of her voice by surgery that was supposed to make it better. To tell you the truth I would still go to the concert just to see her sing even though its not going to be the same. Julie is a wonderful lady and she should be treated with the up most respect unlike some people

  • It would worth the ticket just to see her in person. But again, Brits are typical narrow minded islanders. This is what they do, mean to the lowest of the low, step on the ones who are down. No wonder they are no longer a great country, just another tiny insignificant and self indulging island. That is why many of them including Ms. Andrews spend most of their life outside.

  • @jeijeich you're still using their language i see. Until such time the world stops using British stuff, they will always be great.

This horribly unreliable ITN news report is badly skewed...to quote the BBC, Dame Julie Andrews was given, "standing ovation after standing ovation" by the 20,000 sell out in attendance. The public adore her, the only idiots critical of her were (to quote Sky News) the tiny number of music critics.

  • @Ali74: Thank you for correcting the information. It sounds more reasonable now.

Your British "will always be great" is, however, less reasonable. One problem is you used inappropriate tense, for which English is famous for.

Indeed we are stil and will perhaps forever be using English. Is this a mark of greatness of British today and/or future? NO, unfortunately.

  • @jeijeich "inappropriate tense"... so i take it you will be learning French very soon then? Or Spanish perhaps? Good luck with that.

Regarding this vid, it should be removed for giving skewed information. Even at the bottom it says "dozens". So lets say.. out of 20,000 in attendance where she received "standing ovation after standing ovation" (99.9%), a whopping 24 people (who didn't know she wouldn't be singing) complained. Thats a vid based on 0.1 %, Well done ITN.. unreliable as ever

  • @Ali74: First, English was created centuries ago. Second and more importantly, the worldwide spread of English came after WWII largely due to the rising in power of USA. Our using the language, therefore, only marks the PAST British glory and then the glory of post-war USA.

You see, collecting sufficient information, using correct tense, help one to deduce proper conclusion. Insufficient information and inappropriate tense leads to redicule.

  • @jeijeich Errr take a look at the map of the Anglosphere (English speaking nations).. its the British Empire.

Having said that, i would like to see foreigners use their own language (cherokee or whatever). Although the British owned and civilised over a quarter of the planet, it's quite sad that much of the world is linked to English culture, really these foreign countries should use their own

  • @Ali74: About the British civilzing the world. In 1840's they introduced and helped popularization of opium in Asain Counties. During the same period in Beijing, British burned the world's largest complex of palaces and parks and gardens built by men. The fire lasted more than seven days and nights. The fire destoyed the natural habitat of many wild animals. As a result a deer-like species extincted, only a few survied and were taken to London.

  • @Ali74 : Also during the same period, British stole or robbed numerous arts and artifacts from China, Egypt, Greece, Rome, France and other places, destroying and ruining numberous in the process. These are stll occupying most of the British Museum in London. Greece has requested the return of stolen goods for decades and has been refused. An orator of the museum shamelessly said, "If we return these to Greece, then we have to return others to China, to Egypt, etc. We would have nothing left."

  • @Ali74: The history you are so proud of is not all that glorious but pretty bloody and ugly, literally, even by British English. To continue to display that pride publically is ignorant and quite freaky. Although you may say and think whatever your education allows you to, do not expect the rest of the world be quiet and agree with you. The truth, however, is that a significant part of the world civilzation has been significantly damaged by the imperial Britain. It is quite a shame.

  • @Ali74: You were using inappropriate tense again or you forget to use "formerly" when you mentioned "English Empire". The empire no longer exists. The error makes your message read delusional.

Speaking English does not make a person subject of your queen nor a nation a member of your illutional "empire". US is currently the largest English speaking country. It defeated Brits two centuries ago. Do not count it as a part of your "empire".

  • @Ali74: In addition, English is not an official language of USA. This country had NO officail language. You seem to have been misinformed.

Today, only a residue of the English Empire has left, the commonwealth. However, in the biggist two member nations, India and Pakistan, although English is a secondary official language, only an insignificant smalll percentage of the population use it daily. So you need not to worry about people using their own languages. They already are.

  • @Ali74: Even the Commonwealth is shrinking. In1997, your beloved Prince handed Hong Kong to China. He looked like a defeated chicken. Although English remains one of the two official language there, it is by no means dominating, with no daily English TV channel, radio station, newspaper in the island.

In Singapore, English is only one of the four offical languages. In the biggest commonwealth member nation by area, Canada, English if only one of the official languages.

  • @Ali74: So before you use the concept of English empire or Anglosphere, you need to study and have a clear definition.

To add to your dismay, to reflect the dying of "Anglosphere and English empire", even the Commonwealth has to change its name from British Commonwealth to Commonwealth of Nations. It politically means the England is just as "great" as Tuvalu. Do you know what it is?

  • @Ali74: That is not the end of your dismay, Britain has to submit itself to another "commonwealth", "sphere" or "empire", that is, European Union. This is present tense and the one and only reality for you and any one with residual imperial delusion. Though pounds is still current in the islands, every English business has to have and be familiar with Euros. The day that pounds disappear from modern English is horrifying, isn't it? It is, however, inevidible and near.

  • @Ali74: So the fact that non-British speak English does not prove Britain great TODAY. Popularity of English is largely due to the prosperity of the US. To cling to the idea, you have to dream that the US would not be over polulated by Spanish speaking people.. And you have to dream that the US continue its greatness. It is a lot to dream.

For further evidence, to make it in the US is the dream of many, if not every, British, the most obviously the entertainment industry.

  • @Ali74: When Susan Boyal first appeared in Youtube, the loudest praise from Britain was "She made it in the US." "She made it in the US over night." She accomplished unthinkable by making it in the US overnight, a feat, Robbie Williams tried more than a decade and failed again and again." Does this mentality of a sign of a great country? Yes, it is a sign that the US is a great country and a sign that Britain has become as proud and as inferior as a few other English speaking countries.

  • @Ali74: As for my using the language, it proves the greatness of the US and Canada today because I studied the language for graduate studies in the US and Canada, not in Britain.

I am able to write in another four lanuages including Spanish and French. This alone does not prove any of these countries's greatness today. By the way should I use any of my other four languages here, would you understand?

  • @Ali74: Just to let you know, I won't be able to write to you any longer. I find you are defective in logic and deduction. And you do not seem to be educatable.

I wrote these notes to avoid misunderstanding by other readers with the capacity of logical thinking and deducing.

  • @Ali74: My point is Britain today is no longer as significant as a world stage player as it used to be. However, I am not less a fan of Queen Victoria, Dickens, Shakespeare, Bronte sisters, Jane Austin, Winston Churchill, Lawrence Olivier, Julie Andrews, even Huge Grant ... ...

Please do not point to the grammatical error in my messages. I already knew.

  • fuck the surgeon that ruined her voice. i'm thankful that she's still able to sing, but it just makes me angry to think that it could've been avoided if the surgeon didn't mess up T^T

  • U people make me sick i would give both of my legs just to see her, you should be happy she's ok if ur really a fan, Love you Julie, FORGET THE HATERS!!

  • There are some people whose have not had throat surgery and can not sing worth anything.

  • She is the only celebrity I'd go crazy over <3 I love Julie Andrews. She made my childhood. And I concur with every person supporting Julie. Leave her alone. She's a lovely person <3

  • Come on ! she's a person! like all of us, peaple can't say something like that

  • Comment removed

  • It isn't just the voice, it is the lady!! She is the one and only!! Her voice is the same, just a different range.

  • BITCHES LEAVE HER ALONE SHE IS AMAZING

  • People are so cruel! This woman in her 70's has dedicated her entire life to entertaining people! She possessed one of the greatest voices the world has ever known. She conquered every medium of entertainment. It wasn't her fault that she was robbed of her gift by an unskilled surgeon who botched her throat surgery! Julie Andrews is a treasure and a legend. She also is known to have a very sharp tongue and would probably tell those who deride her exactly where to stick it! AND RIGHTLY SO!

  • @torresongs2 I concur with you. I wish I could meet her. I feel highly offended when I meet someone who doesn't even know who she is.

  • Julie Andrews is a blessing and a gift of God to humankind

she may have lost some of her voice but atleast she's still alive and still with us.

now isn't that something all of us should be thankful about.

  • Whine..whine..whine..seriously, this is Julie Andrews we're talking about here!

  • Fan is short for fanatic

  • Those 'fans' are such asses. I cannot believe that. Julie has more than loads of talent, elegance, and poise-- she has a fantastic personality and works every role she's ever had to the best of her abilities. She's not a young woman either, so people need to stop holding to her what she was an adapt their expectations. I honestly thought there'd never be a day in which she'd put on another concert, so she's already exceeding my expectations.

  • Oh FFS, all you fan-fags cry like little girls with a skinned knee!

She's an actress and performer - nothing more, nothing less. She's got more money and have lead a richer life than any of you probably will - I assure you, she's no worse for wear.

Stop treating it like she's gonna fall down and die of a broken heart or something, just because of those aweful, dreadful people (sob sob cry cry) had the audacity to criticize **gasp** Ms Julie on-a-fabulousthh-pedestal Andrews!

    Come on now...!

  • she is like..... THE BEST!

  • Julie the people saying these bad things about your voice lied when they said they were your fans. A fan is someone who sticks by his or her idol no matter what happens to them. I will always love you you are awesome and so kind hearted. It doesnt matter whether or not you have your voice, you are a nice gentle person. In other words you are supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

  • Poor dear :( How terrible it must have been for her to disappoint her fans. And how rude of them to act like that ! It was brave of her to get back up there for them, and look how they rapy her . Sigh, what ever happened to common decency. And she is just so classy and beautiful !

  • This is Mikesimus's girlfriend, the one who wrote the original extremely vulgar comment. I will say it again: Julie Andrews has changed the world more than any of you ever will. And you should probably stop harrassing Mikesimus. He wasn't the one who left the comment dumbasses!!!!

  • I was hardly disappoiknted. She is always the consumate actress and singer.

she is wonderful. I love her singing. I wish I would have heard her. I am glad she still sings.

  • @wendyverdades speaking of consumate, i wish she would be consumed in a raging house fire along with her pretentious pets.

  • I was hardly disappoiknted. She is always the consumate actress and singer.

she is wonderful. I love her singing.

  • Ity2k84 can strain

  • This tv reporter and those cunt licking fans can just go fuck themselves and die. Julie Andrews is the classiest, most well loved performer ever to grace the stage. You fuck in dipshits can all just suck a cock and choke. Julie Andrews for queen! Go fuck yourselves you ungrateful fuckers. You should be glad you ever breathed the same air as her you disgusting sacks of shit!

  • @Mikesimus300 It's a shame you don't seem to have any class in the way you write and speak.

  • @BeautifulBoombox that was my gf. I apologize. She's a little crazy when it comes to Julie Andrews.

  • @Mikesimus300 it's surprising that nobody has murdered that pasty bitch. holy fuck. what a LOSER! screw julie andrews. she's a big ol' dyke and her twat smells. pee-yoo. YUCK!

  • @a20gregjockca You obviously didn't read my previous comment. I didn't actually say those things. It was my gf using my account. I'm totaly fine with you hating her. It doesn't upset me in the least.

  • @Mikesimus300 i never read the comments of sluts.

  • @a20gregjockca You obviously didn't read my previous comment. I didn't actually say those things. It was my gf using my account. I'm totaly fine with you hating her. It doesn't upset me in the least.

  • @Mikesimus300 "It doesn't upset me in the least."

    ---

    then shut up.

  • WTF

  • i would not care if she sat on the stage and looked at the audience for two hours in silence.. it would still be magical just being in the presence of her!

  • How can you trow a comeback concert When you can't sing. I WANT THAT MONEY BACK.

  • @lty2k84 1st u mean *throw* and 2nd its not just her voice that makes julie andrews such a wonderful person

  • How is it physically possible to be that good looking at 75?

  • LEAVE JULIE ANDREWS ALOOOOONE!

  • @m0n0p0ly8 Chris Crocker Scares me !!!!!!

  • this was posted on my birthday!!!! hahah I LOOVE Julie Andrews <333

  • Of course she's not going to sing the vast majority, she's only going to sing as much as possible. She had surgery because she had to have it. Losing her vocal ability was and still is completely out of her control. Like a lot of you are saying, at least she did sing a bit and all in attendance got to see her perform regardless..be grateful.

  • Mother Creator

    ~~ Loves you ~~

  • PAENNE GAMITHEITE!

  • i think those people who complained should just be happy that they were allowed to be in the presence of that extraordinary woman. i know i would KILL to be in the same concert hall as her. even if she was just standing onstage smiling & that was it, they should be damn thankful.

  • @phckizlam

you can't feel in relief without introuding islam in every thing? what do u even know about islam anyway ?

the whole thing is about julie and suddnly u turn it about racist things ! Oh God ..

btw .. julie U ROCK ! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH .. and ur voice is amazing just like u ..

  • look, i think people would know what to expect. it's quite obvious that her singing voice will never be the same again, because of the surgery. but it's not her fault! now, if people can't accept that, it's not her problem. and those who ask for their money back are not true fans. JULIE ANDREWS YOU RULE!

  • i like julie andrews and these stupid fans makin me sick..shud i click 'like or dislike'?

  • Those people are idiots ! I´m so sorry, but it´s true. if i don´t wanna listen to her voice, I don´t go to the concert. And If I am at the concert it means I REALLY WANNA listen Julie !

BTW. I love her (singing) voice !

  • Well those people certainly have nerve don't they? She spent her entire life singing, lost her voice, spent time THERAPY to deal with the loss (I would have too, and I don't even sing for a living) and still managed to pull herself up by the bootstraps to do a concert-yet those ungrateful jerks want there money back? Julie Andrews is a living legend, and I would pay money just to watch her stare at the audience in silence. Stupid-did they really think she would sound 25 again?

  • @genungapearl you are so write! they are idiots... I totally agree with you, sometimes we forgot the personal history and we see only the today, this is not write, must see the total and not the part!

  • I love Julie, and you are right if any fan thinks any less of her than her role in Sound of Music or any other era in the peak of her fame, those fans are out right FAKE and Shallow. Julie, is the epitome of pure and goodness and an Icon for children to look up to. As long as any follow Julie Andrews path, their success in life is inevitable!! God Bless Julie Andrews.

  • If they were real fans they would support her. This isn't helping by her, the fact that she's out and saying again is already a great thing. As if her life is already hard enough knowing that she might not be able to sing anymore. People who love to sing would also be devastated. It's like breaking off the wings of a bird, it can't live.

  • Some people. There are some performers who lose their talent and ability in their later years. Others through great practice and luck stay just as fantastic throughout the course of their lives. Poor Julie's flawed operation never even gave her that chance. For anyone to walk out on her knowing not only what she's been through, but also what she's accomplished since then, is both appauling and insolent.

  • Let's get rid of Obama and crown her Queen of America!!

  • @wisheyecould Amen to that. At least she isn't a moslem with an agenda.

  • at the beginning this "news clip" made it seem as if julie andrews had swindled her fans of their money. which is definitely not the case. she has so much grace and it must have hurt her that her some "fans" were disappointed. ):

  • you should all be happy she recovered her voice. be understanding enough that she has gone though an operation which ruined her voice. if you think that its easy to sing with a sick throat, then go exchange places with her, then see if you like it. losers. u make me sick,

  • People need to get a life.... they should be happy even if she sang only one song.... she will not be around in some years and be glad you experienced her.

  • I love Julie Andrews, she's always been my favorite actress. People have no business bashing her at all... I <3 you, Julie! :)

  • Why would people be so nasty?

  • FUCK THIS SHIT.

  • THIS IS SO RUDE :@ even if she went on stage and projectile vomited on everyone it would still be 119481290848x better than a whole show of miley cyrus or justin bieber or whatever else is popular these days

  • wow, I wish I would have known about this! I would be so happy to get to see her, even if she doesn't sing. shes an all around wonderful person.

  • what a bunch of losers. they're lucky to get one song

  • lol hey shes like what, 80 or so? and still an amazing singer... who could be dissapointed by her, lol how can she help having a damaged voice xD

  • Anybody see he tit's in the movie S.O.B. ? AWESOME !

  • There's so many (bad) Mary Poppins puns in this video.

  • We love you, Julie! May God bless you!!

  • We live only 20 minutes from the O2 but missed the concert as we were on vacation in Florida. I would have given almost anything to have been there, I have loved Julie since being taken to see Mary Poppins as a child. Her role as a queen in Princess Diaries is a fitting one. Everyone knows her voice was tragically damaged what did people expect, she would suddenly be able to sing the way she once did. I hope she comes back again I won't miss the next concert.

  • @2goofyland Than take me with you =D

I agree with your comment! But I wasn't in Florida that vacation XD

  • @2goofyland

I didn't know that. But I didn't go to the O2 arena either. If I'd have known that and went to the concert I wouldn't have expected a huge gig either.

  • How can you be disappointed? She's freaking Julie Andrews!

  • @icheer4les09 I know!!! What's wrong with some people???

  • Okay, Julie is legend. She's been a favorite of mine since the opening scene in The Sound Of Music. This concert wasn't even advertised in the US. And to the person calling Americans rude because of where we live is rude in itself. From reading your comments you are the rude one. You apparently are one of the people demanding a return. Rule of thumb, make sure you read the event septicemic before purchasing a ticket.

  • I would have given ANYTHING to see the show!!! anyone who was disappointed must not be a TRUE fan!! plus if your going to buy a ticket you should probably know what the show is going to be about so don't blame Julie if you didn't enjoy the show!

  • Dear Refund-Requesters,

Ask the wizard for a brain.

    Regards, Johnny

  • Everyone know that her voice got "damaged/destroyed" years ago because of a doctor who operated her wrongly! Of course she talked more then sanged. She is so wonderful, funny and have such style and class! A true lady!

  • @stockholmboy29 but not everyone who payed good money new that. Ok there fault.

I like the lady and feel very sorry in the way she lost her voice. If I was her I would not want to perform again.

  • Those that have kept in touch with this wonderful woman's career know beforehand that her voice has been severely damaged a few years ago.Of course her voice is different,so what? The fact that she wanted to share these concerts and the 50 years of wonderful things that she has given us all should be enought to muster respect and admiration from those who love her.I know I'll always will. And she was wonderful as always. Those that shun her aren't fans. They are simply ungrateful curious people.

  • Maybe the marketing for the event could have been handled better but she did her best to let her supposed fans know what really was going on. It's not her fault. She does NOT deserve this modern, disgusting, disrespect that the people who walked out gave her. How shallow can people get, really?

I feel so embarrassed for the human race, knowing that she has undoubtedly read and heard many scathing reviews. I'd have given triple the ticket price to be at that concert.

  • of course DAME JULIE is THE only Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

  • Those people are RIDICULOUS. I'm at a loss for words to describe their foolishness. She is JULIE ANDREWS. I would give ANYTHING to see her in person. Those who weren't true fans shouldn't have gone to the concert and left seats for people who ACTUALLY love Julie. IDIOTS.

  • Disappointed? are you kidding me? she is Julie Andrews!!! I would love to see her in person at least 5 minutes!!!!

  • She is wonderful! leave her alone!

  • She is georgios for her age!!!

  • It didn't surprise me that "many" people were upset when the 2 girls behind me ("who, apparently, are Dame Julie's greatest fans") didn't even know that she had had a throat operation. It makes me wonder how many went there as actual fans of Dame Julie and how many as fans of TSOM staring Julie Andrews? I think most were just expecting some kind of The Sound Of Music singalong!. She warned people she only has 5 bass notes in her interviews for lords sake!!

  • What's truly beautiful about her isn't just her voice at all, it's her personality. She is the EPITOME of poise. And the greatest test of this poise is a WEAKNESS. People should love their entertainers more and idolize them less.

  • @karaokevox I want to know who would not enjoy spending an evening with her. Elizabeth Taylor enjoyed the evening nearly a year before her death.

  • I was there, and it was an absobloominlutely WONDERFUL night: touching, magical, heart-warming. I can't understand why people kept leaving: despite as we all knew her voice isn't what it used to be twenty years ago, she sang in a gourgeous way with her unique interpretation and stage-presence. Her solo rendition of "A cock-eyed optimist" almost moved me to tears.

If you couldn't appreciate this, you can't appreciate theatre and then you shouldn't have been there.

  • i would have been honoured to hear her live! even for one minute!

  • Comment removed

  • those ungrateful bastards. i would have loved to hear her even if she was a tad out off tune.

  • wow it should be kinda obvious that shes not going to have her old voice back if it got destroid by surgrey so obviously thats a no brainer you dumbasses who think it was horrible shes an amazing woman who deffinatly had the balls to go up there and sing even though her voice has been ruined

  • I LOVE Julie Andrews, but I was disappointed by this concert. Lots of people, ill at ease, were leaving the O2, . She sang 3 or 4 songs. OK, she had warned people, but not everyone knew that she would only perform a few songs and introduce other singers. The worst was her boring children tale, in which she was telling the story, not singing. It was a mistake to offer this strange and disappointing show. The best was when she sang "My funny Valentine", her voice was fine even though a it weak.

  • @wondermig

Yes, I agree. I too was there and feel this concert did not travel well. What worked in the US, did not work in the UK. Simeon's Gift was a mistake and patronising at that. To have seen some British stars on stage with her would have been a nice gesture. Instead US stars, virtually unknown in the UK appeared. I knew Dame Julie could not sing well and did not expect her to do so, but more anecdotes would have made up for it. The event was poorly managed Dame Julie took the flak.

  • A icon from my childhood, a glorious woman and the tragedy of what happened to her voice makes the bravery of her return to the stage even more impressive. I'd pay to watch her read shopping lists. Those who were fortunate to hear her perform again in their lifetimes should just be grateful.

  • Her voice isnt as strong as before and shes sed that.. so of course she isnt gonna be able to sing like before... But wether she can or not .. shes still and ispiration and idol to me.

  • OK THE PEOPLE(BRITS) THAT ASKED FOR THEIR MONEY BACK ARE DISGUSTING PIGS!!!!!!!!!! ID LIKE TO TAKE A BASEBALL BAT TO THEIR EARDRUMS AND LET'S SEE WHTAT THEY THINK IS GOOD SINGING THEN!!!!!! PEOPLE REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT TALENT IS THESE DAYS!!!! <3 JULIE!!

  • Bullshit people!!! Her throat is messed up. DID YOU HEAR THAT? SHE'S HURT. You can't expect a person who is hurt to do that much with their voice, that's just cruel!!!!!

  • legend!

  • Jukie andrews had voice surgery and it went wrong her voice wont ever come back to how it was be greatfull that you heard her sing what she did and stop being so stupid. As a singer if i lost my voice i would be devastated and completely lost good on her for tryingto sing again.

  • well that is simply rude of them to say; it's not as if she could magically fix her voice!

  • I have no words at all, well, actually I do. First of all Julie Andrews is a Broadway, Tv & Film legend and icon! I think she's proved her worth above any other artist a million times greater. For those asking for their money back should be slapped! Yes, her voice is not what it once was, but at least she was a singer...unlike Britany Spears or any of these crappy machine produced artists today! Julie Andrews is the real thing! Just to see her utter a word in person would give me goosebumps

  • I have no words at all, well, actually I do. First of all Julie Andrews is a Broadway, Tv & Film legend and icon! I think she's proved her worth above any other artist a million times greater. For those asking for their money back should be slapped! • These so called " fans" shouldn´t get their money back, they should pay extra tickets to real fans that would give anything to see a living legend life for an evening, instead of walking out on her!

From what I saw on youtube from the shows, she was amazing! And she never said she would sing! They should feel lucky having heard her sing at all!

  • Who can be disppointed at Julie Andrews?! It was obvious that she couldn't make a show like about 50 years ago...!! I mean, we're all glad that she can sing some songs in lower keys, and then there are those so-called 'fans' who are making such a fuss! I'd be glad if I ever got the chance of seeing her in concert at all!!

Even though you won't read it:

Julie: Don't give it another thaught!

  • As she said in one interview on You Tube, that even if she had not had surgery, at her age, she would not be belting out songs like she used to due to her age. She is after all 75 going on 76! There is no way in h*ll she could sing the way she used too. Your vocal range just isn't there anymore. Even Streisand at 69, can't sing like she used too belting out strong songs. Your vocal chords and singing range change as you age. I give her credit for trying and still wanting to entertain!

  • I was there and she was amazing! I was just so happy to have the privilege of spending an Evening with Julie Andrews.

  • These "fans" should think of people like me who have NEVER had the privilege of hearing Julie sing live before, and probably never will, as I live in Singapore.

I would love to have taken the place of these "fans" who claim it wasn't worth their money to be there.

  • Poor Julie, leave her alone.

  • @AJB3 shut up you fucking tit . julie is well alright far better than you could ever wish to be. idiot

  • @cujo9 I know its about money. How sad is she and her lot conned people knowing she can't sing? No worries MONEY MONEY............

Julie does not need the money, its those (MOST) people who went to see her who were conned. I will never forgive her for that

  • @yot5000 Anybody who came to this show thinking that Andrews was going to sing the entire night were just plain stupid. The story about the damage to her vocal chords made headlines around the world. It was billed as an "Evening of Song" not a Julie Andrews concert. If people didnt understand that, then they don't have enough sense to come in out of the rain.

  • No doubt in my mind she was unhappy with the way the event was being promoted. She did not anticipate the oversell or assumed her fans would be familiar with her voice problems. I can't imagine how anyone within earshot of a tv or computor screen for the last decade could not have realized Andrews would be restricted and hampered heavily in any concert setting. She tried. folks did not pay attention.

  • Give the poor woman a break, shes been entertaining us for years, and now just because shes aged a little and needa alittle help fans go mental fail on her.... Well fans.. grow up and thankfull its a star we still have among us.

  • "fans" have known for years that her voice was irrepairably damaged in 1997, don't these people watch Youtube( the concert was in the usa last year, just like here) ? it is what it is..even the Gods have no cure for ignorance or stupidity...

  • @Dirkdebruyne What happened in 1997?:O

  • @Gudulpif In 1997 Julie has an operation on her vocal-cords (nodules on it). This operation damaged her great singing voice (over 4 octaves).

  • I was there and loved the songs she did, especially Funny Valentine!! I didn't mind the voice problems and she even talked about it, very gracefully.

  • But: The concert was named An Evening With Julie, which means in my ears that the songs to be performed would be her repetoir(songs and movies) that she is famous for.

The first half was just that and we loved it!!! The other half on the other concert was a stupid childrens fairytale called Simeons Gift.

I didn't come from Norway to see a fairytale!

  • The Concert should not have been advertised as it was, but as: Simeons Gift and more Performed by Julie Andrews and friends! If they had done that we all knew what we where there for.

I don't think she has gotten a facelift, but she has destroyed her eyes by lifting them too much, they look so fake and that was even visible from the stage...

  • Good grief, she got a facelift. Atrocious! Why can't people accept they get old, she is 75, her voice is almost as good as is was 40 years ago (albeit for only short periods of time) what more do people want?

Needles to say I love her performance and voice no matter what she does to herself

  • @onnielief

I don't believe she has had a facelift. There are also other women at her age them looks younger. It's a great gift. I'm glad for them.

  • Disapointed, my ass. What did they expect!? They are lucky to be walking in the garden of HER TURBULENCE.

Haters, suck and CHOKE on it.

  • @klickenpod

    YOU SAID IT BUDDY!

  • All these comments pretty much prove that those few "fans" who complained are but a pinch of sand amongst an endless beach of people who will forever adore Julie.

  • She still sounds wonderful!!! I would have done anything to see her perform live...

Anyone who thinks otherwise should think about the Courage, Bravery and Strength it took for her to get on stage and sing live, something I doubt any of you could have done, She's a strong woman and I respect her even more for that...She's given us years of entertainment and when she needs our support the most, people ask for their money back, Its positively disgusting

    You're the Best Julie!!

  • fuck these "fans", they werent worthy of being there in the first place

  • Wow, who the hell would ask for their money back? Are they so stupid they can't understand her voice was damaged?

So ungrateful it's disgusting - they should be happy they actually got to see this incredibly talented woman perform at all. I would have done anything to see this.

  • @Fi5hB8 Well why didn't you do anything to see this concert? There was time enough to make arrangements. Tickets were on sale months before the event.

  • @Earthworm286 Never even heard about the event until I saw this YouTube video, for one. If I'd heard about it, I wouldn't have been able to go anyway as I live in Australia. If she'd been performing here, nothing would have stopped me.

  • I Love It!!

  • well if THOSE fans are disappointed then they arent REAL fans. i would give ANYTHING to hear her in concert even if she doesnt get to sing the entire time! when i heard her sing again for the first time in "the princess diaries 2" i was brought to tears. bravo julie! you are a LEGEND!

  • @dolphinjjam Well why didn't you give anything to hear her in concert? The show was by no means a sell out, despite anything which the press said. There were plenty of empty seats at the start. I know, I was looking around. at them. If the tickets were only sold to those who were in your eyes - real fans - there would have been plenty more empty seats, I can tell you. This show was badly managed from the start.

  • @Earthworm286 go take your sourness someplace else.

  • @dolphinjjam No I will not. I am entitled to my opinion as is anyone else. I am tired of all this sanctimonious claptrap from the so called "real fans" who hold themselves superior to the rest of us who went to see Julie Andrews on stage because she was Julie Andrews.

  • @Earthworm286 Why did you go to see her if you obviously don't seem to like her very much? you have to understand that what happened to her is not her fault and it is SO hard on her. it is just plain cruel to be so heartless.

  • @dolphinjjam FYI I like her well enough and am a member of two online forums run by her fans, knew about the botched op and the reason for it. Saw all the interviews did not expect her to sing and was delighted when she did. Alas Simeon's Gift was terrible, not suited to the O2 and with few children in the arena, somewhat pointless. I spent most of the second half embarrassed for Dame Julie and watching 400+ people walk out. This was a poorly managed event which people paid good money to see.

  • @Earthworm286 okay. you have your own oppinion and i have mine. my oppinion is that Julie is one of the most amazing women to walk the planet, and i will love her no matter what.

  • how was her voice dammaged?

  • @theangelkap she had surgery on her vocal cords and it left scar tissue which is bad for your cords. Some people who have had surgery and have scar tissue can't even talk let alone sing anymore

  • No wonder my foreparents came to this country. Those who remained behind were stupid.
